Yes, please don't. I try to avoid reading your posts but I already know more about IE than I'd like. I know you're tying to be discreet, but you're not doing a very good job...

Iar, thanks for all your wonderful information, but I am confused. You say you think Dave 'put his own music over Rabbits", but then you say it is no different than the website music, which I did with him. Was it an English mistake? Did you mean that it WAS different than the web series? Thanks for the information.
And this Emily news is interesting.... Um, I don't know anything...

For Lynch, a career Golden Lion that tastes of redemption and satisfaction: 20 years ago the Lido refused his Blue Velvet.
Therefore, the new Venice Festival director Marco Muller curtseys the Master!
"Take a look at this, mafia!"
"What a tiny satisfaction!"
"Eww..Press people! Where are you, my little ants?!"
"Guys, Sixty is an age!"
"40 too is an age!"
"Did they scoff the whole damn Smörgåsbord?" (Audrey) "Gimme a donut!" (Coop)

faceintheleaves- Im just trying to answer people's questions as i know how frustrating it is for some of you. I havnt said anything in very much detail at all..you dont have to read my posts you know...I apologise if youve read something you didnt want to. All im trying to do is give you an idea of what the press cant because half of them, i can tell havnt even seen the film because theyre highlighting really stupid things and giving false impressions. As i said yesterday im not saying anymore about the film now...because i dont want to. Again, i apologise if youve read something you didnt want, i did not intend that at all but seriously, i havnt said anything of any true detail i can promise you that. (Im including some final information below for John, about the music...so if you dont want to know then look away now!)
John- Im sorry..i think its because ive been typing too quickly and been in a rush. Ill start again... What Im trying to say is that the music over the clips of Rabbits in the film is the same as the music over the orginal short series. It hasnt changed. Therefore, if you and David scored the original, then thats what is in the film. I wrongly presumed it was Angelo's music. However, i distinctly remember thinking, during IE that there was a piece of music that did sound very much like Angelo. This piece wasnt scored over a Rabbits scene, but over another. I cant be sure that it was him, but to me it sounded as if it could be. However, again i did not see his name on the credits. I hope im making more sense now. Basically, im really unsure whether any Angelo Badalamenti music is in the film!

Iar, I've read there is a little string track composed by Badalmenti in the soundtrack, although he is not acredited. So you were right, there's some of his music in the film.

Mmh, 584 MB seem to be a little dimension for a 3 hours movie, unless it's very bad quality. And 584 MB seem to be a too large dimension for a clip that lasts less than 10 minutes.

It's not a problem, Iar. I know there's nothing substantial in your posts and I know how frustrating it must be wanting to discuss a film nobody has seen. I tend to post on message boards in the build up to things being released (most recently INLAND EMPIRE and Aerial by Kate Bush) and once it's out there I stop posting. I just like to share the anticipation.

I was in Venice and I saw with Justin to see in the morning INLAND EMPIRE. I watched the film at the ceremony after and I went to the DAVID LYNCH'S PARTY. You can read my review (it's in french, sorry) here and I also posted a comment under the article "Lire les commentaires".

Well, French is the third or four language spoken in the world. Every one is not bound to understand it. Please be moderate in posting all these French reviews.

I took French 1 and 2 in college but that's not good enough for translation of movie reviews. So I went to Google 'translation tools' to help me read Sophie's article. Between the original and the computer generated English, I think I got the essence. What cracks me up is that Inland Empire translates to "Inland Worsens." All in all, I think it's fair to say, as has already been written, that Inland Empire is getting 'mixed reviews' at best. Sophie's position as a long time Lynch devotee combined with having seen the film twice gives added weight to her perceptions for me.
I gotta say though, my favorite part was the confirmation of the Emily rumor! Susan

This is a short review without spoilers from IMDB message board. The guy who signs it, Jimmy19, gives the film 10/10 stars. "I saw INLAND EMPIRE at the Venice Film Festival and I think it's incredible... surely the most strange Lynch's film. A terrible nightmare of about 3 hours! I love Lynch's films and I think that INLAND EMPIRE resumes his whole filmography! And I want to underline also the interpretation of Laura Dern. She's absolutely fantastic! You can't pretend to understand completely the story (it's more confused than Lost Highway and Mulholland Drive...) but you'll be captured by the sounds, the lights, the changes of rhythm... David has written the screenplay day by day and also the actors couldn't understand what they were doing... I think you should see this wonderful film of one of the best contemporary director."

One like David Lynch just cannot disappoint his fans, in my opinion. So I think the most important thing he had in his mind while shooting was "I have to stay true to my preceding filmography's style and my usual audience's taste". For us, this movie can't just be a disappointment. Moreover, I think now the worries about the look and cinematography of INLAND EMPIRE are to be completely forgotten. The screenshots published in the pressbook were simply amazing and made of striking beauty! It absolutely must be a wonderful work of art, at the same level of his previous films.

That would fail to explain Sophie's disappointment, Mr. Silencio. I gather she has been a longtime fan and if I interpret her review corrrectly, after seeing the film twice, it was not to her taste.

| QUOTE:One like David Lynch just cannot disappoint his fans, in my opinion. | That's not true. While I have not "liked" all of Lynch's movies, I have usually found something about them that I enjoyed. Not so with Mulholland Dr., he nearly lost me with that one, and with MD as his latest movie I didn't have much hope for Inland Empire. That and the DV.

Booth, it is good that you finaly have a Kubric avatar. I see you were able to forgive him for Clockwork Orange and Ryan O'Neal.
