On the italian distributor's site they only put the tagline, the presskit (which is usually published online an exact month before the release) and a dissolving slideshow in which I picked up this photo that I think it was never seen before online(except those who were lucky to see the movie, of course).

The link does not exist, so I had to save the image on my Hard disk to show you. Here it is:

this was in the movie, briefly

So is it safe to say that if you live in the Midwest, moderately far away from the "major" cities...

...that I wont be seeing this film until the Rhino DVD release?

I live in Columbus OH and its a big city with a ton of indy style theaters to show it...but I see no release anytime soon.

I just introduced myself over there, too.  But I'm excited, even if I have to wait for the DVD, because I live in a relatively unpopulated, unpopular city, Omaha, Nebraska!

Lynch is in Lodz, Poland. He presented INLAND EMPIRE with Julia Ormond and Justin Theroux :

I don't speak Polish... sorry ! But I can see the photos ! ;o)

Another link about David Lynch : http://www.stopklatka.pl/wydarzenia/wydarzenie.asp?wi=34837

Sophie

But I do :-)

There's not much though in the first one about the film, you know stuff like "the movie is for advanced cinemagoers, very demanding, Lynch plays with the viewer, with cinema, with images, it's psychodelic, vissionaire, there's little meaning if any, etc.etc.".

More interesting is that David had a musical performance there, too. Before him Krzysztof Majchrzak - the main Polish actor in the crew - had a performance, they played some standards as well as Twin Peaks Theme and the Rosemary's baby theme. Afterwards Lynch with another guy came on stage and played ome musical impression which was supposed to ilustrate a poem by D.L., which David also read from the stage. The poem is quoted (or parts of it) but I'm not going to translate it back to English ;-)

Anyway it's a short paragraph, the text deals with the Camerimage festival, not Lynch in particular.

The other link is to a chat with David. I read it, well it's hard to say if there's anything which could be of some special interest to any of you. I could translate it for you but only if someone REALLY wants it. It's a bit of work, I wouldn't like to do it for nobody ;-)

Then even if the film is crappy we would at least have some other profit!

Haven't posted here in a while since I've been busy.... I'm really excited about finally getting to see Inland Empire soon... and in a great way! It's playing on January 12 (just two weeks from tommorrow!) at the AFI Silver Theatre in Silver Springs, Maryland (just outside of DC) which is a great theater... I saw Mulholland Dr. there last September, which was an amazing experience.... anyway the most exciting news of all is that Lynch will be there too... I never counted on seeing a screening attended by him... my dad and I are definitely going to be there. Does anyone else live in the DC/Maryland area and plan on attending the screening?

That god damn trailer's more popular than Uncle's Day in a whorehouse!

$20 Advance tickets for the screening will be available at Seattle Art Museum and Scarecrow Video. This event is presented by Absurda, DavidLynch.com, inlandempirecinema.com and 518 Media, Inc.

I got my ticket this morning!

Cool. They have also added a midnight showing, at which David will still introduce the film but likely will not answer questions afterwards. :(

Bummer for me.

AHAHAHA, I've never seen him making gestures like in this one! He looked like he was on drugs or just delirious...

Here's another one, I think it's quite recent: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RhqvSEoiB7o&NR

Here is a videoclip with images and sounds that are so familiar to us and it doesn't vary much (only scenes from Rabbits, The Alphabet and Fire walk with me) but I think it's great. Take a look:

In this other one David and Laura sit down while shooting INLAND EMPIRE  and get interviewed by total strangers. The clip is German-dubbed, but if you focus on the lip motion you understand what they say when  the foreign language cranks in.

Does anybody here have a clue as to how to reach 518 Media regarding David's INLAND EMPIRE Discussion Board?  They don't seem to have any moderators or administrator, and people are concerned that it's getting the usual porn posts.  And there's nobody to remove it.  I googled everything I can think of.

Anybody here a member of Davidlynch.com?

I'm jumping up and down like a child after that. Looks completely backwords from anything he's done.

I really really hope Lynch takes this to Philly !!!

Mmh... This is bugging me!

No matter how hard Lynch tried to make it look nice, this movie doesn't look very appealing on the aesthetical level... at least, for my taste. He could have at least tried with an HD camer instead of a simple DV camera. I'm so worried now, I was hoping it was going to be a revelation... but I fear this is going to be a let down for many of us.

ack cheer up its a new Lynch film. Be thankful for these things instead of cryin about the look of it. Boundaries were never broken by sticking to the old tried and tested. DV = Room to Dream

Yeah, I know... room to dream. But still all of this sounds to me like regressive.

I guess I was wrong in caring about the visual aspect of a movie.
