The mystery man in Lost Highway

"Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it, don't wait for it, just let it happen. Could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot, black coffee. Like this."  -Dale Cooper

it's got a few killer lines, come on. "what's the matter colonel sanders, chicken!?!!" is genius

but yeah for the most part it's not that good. "pizza the hut ate himself to death" jesus christ.

Mel Brooks made his only two good movies in 1974, and even those are pretty eeeh. Frankenstein is the better of the two.

'Fud prefers Robin Hood - Men in Tights.

The Monty Python movies are also not very good. Is this a controversial opinion?

i'm gonna go ahead and say it. mel brooks has never ever made a really good solid movie. i mean blazing saddles is terriffic, but let's be honest that's at least half richard pryor's doing

though the part where mongo punches that horse kills me every time, my favorite joke in the picture, and that was probably 100% brooks

I re-watched Holy Grail recently and found it almost embarrassing. Previously I had thought it was the best of the three. Faint praise indeed.

if i had to choose just one it would be meaning of life, the idea of going for a "plot" is just not necessary. plus it has that great gilliam-y bit at the beginning

I can't.   I am currently trolling for girlfriends on the internet.

I do like some of Gilliam's movies, but sometimes he comes across as the ugly American of directors.

Besides Howard the Duck, what do you like?

I can proudly say I have never seen Howard the Duck.

What TV shows/films do you like?  It just seems like just about every one that is brought up you don't like.  Myself and all lurkers are curious.

It's a bit interesting with "you don't like anything" reply to a post the begins with "I do like".
I do like quite a few things, I don't keep lists so I can't list them here.

Sturgeon's Law is pretty accurate though.

I apologize.  I wasn't aware it was such a personal subject matter.  I will be more on the surface in future endeavors.

I wasn't trying to be mean at all.

I'm genuinely curious as to what past and present TV shows/films you like.

You seem to have good taste.  (emphasis on seem)

Thanks, Booth.  I like all of the shows you have mentioned except surprisingly I have not seen a lot of MST3K.  Shame on me.

X-Files

i've been chugging through this again for the first time in like 10 years. i was there for the original premiere, but never made it past season 5 and i'm trying to watch the whole thing. ANYWAY!

hoooooooooooly shit this show does not hold up well like half the time. i mean i'd say about 20% of the time it's real gold like tooms or humbug or jose chung's from outer space or home, and then 30% of the time it's pretty decent. like the flukeman or ice or something along those lines. but fully 50% of the time it's the godawful mytharc horseshit, or something like this: http://redwolf.com.au/xfiles/season03/3x18.html

the return of the curse of the shaman's cat spirit is mauling people!!! i watched that one last night and i have no idea what happened in it or what it was even about. terrible, worse than anything in twin peaks or even lost
