I must break you.

Sorry, the invasion of the body snatchers is in full swing.

Guess who the last one left is...

Hey Fud, we've actually received numerous requests to NOT have karaoke at the celebrity dinner. :) Sorry. But we do have a karaoke machine if people want to crank it up at the pre-fest party.

if you're serious that someone went out of their way to specifically request no karoke, then lolz. seriously. as long as we're going out of our way, i'm requesting no....hmm.....guys who make balloon animals. none, please. the pre-emptive dream squelching is hilarious

as long as we're having a full-on fest thread, what're the odds that catherine coulson will make it up? i have a friend that is on the fence about going with me this year and he got really psyched when i said how nice she was.

LOL j, I love doing karaoke when I'm properly inebriated. Nothing better than making an ass of myself when I'm in a state where I'm liable to care the least what people think of me. I did karaoke in SF once drunk, stoned, and coked out of my head. Reports have it that I was very entertaining and I groped a drag queen. I don't know if anyone took pix, but I'm hoping they never make the internet. That was a while ago. Don't judge. :P So anyway, i guess that makes me...cheesedicked? Ew.

Fud, we had floated the idea to festgoers...last year? Two years ago I think? At the fest we'd just mention it off-hand and people were like "You can't be serious..." And we actually got a couple of fest surveys back that said "Please, NO KARAOKE" in the section asking for suggestions on what we could add to make things better. :) Personally I'm down with karaoke, but I guess it depends on what people expect to get out of their fest ticket price...I think karaoke still seems like a cheesy bar activity to many. Bummer.

And yes, I'm actually waiting to hear back from Catherine. Last year she was already locked in for Ashland, but we're hoping we contacted her early enough this year. She's a doll. Her and Charlotte Stewart are my muses...I hope to be as classy as them when I get to be seasoned. :D

Nice. That casino has that rockaraoke thing with a live band. :D I'd suggest the Old Shanty or however it's spelled, but rumor has it that's now closed? No good places for karaoke anymore. Last year Angela (TheTrueAudrey) and Chris G had pushed for karaoke at the pre-fest but nobody really went for it. But I think if we really rallied the troops, we could get it going. Just need to see if we can find a place that rents out karaoke CDs for cheap. I live near a college town so we have all sorts of places like that here. I imagine we can find one in Issaquah or Bellevue. RAWK.

Heh. Um. We'll figure it out. We still have like six months. (OMG just freaked myself out. What was I thinking? SIX MONTHS?! *not spoken with a cig clenched in my teeth while I try to put on stockings*)

I have to nose around for an InFocus projector to rent up there anyway. Maybe the same place I rent from will also have karaoke CDs...

Actually, Chris G. just didn't get around to downloading the tracks, his band didn't come along & I didn't feel like singing. The one year we had karaoke at the celeb dinner it seemed pretty popular. Given how many people nip outside during the live music portion, don't see how whatever the entertainment is would matter.  And I like karaoke when done well, and as I sing well... well...

Yeah, well. Not everyone wants to listen to other fans drunkenly crooning all night. The pre-fest is the place for that to happen because people don't pay to attend that. When someone plunks down $200 to attend the festival, they sort of expect better. I have notes from feedback after the '01 fest that actually state that karaoke was not received very well and should not be pursued in the future. So it wasn't THAT popular back then either.

Karaoke (which is Japanese for "unbearable discomfort") is an acquired taste.

No real opinion on karaoke, but Catherine is my favorite festival guest celebrity.

Without a doubt the most entertainment returned for the least posting effort ever. My thanks to BNC and all those who enabled them.

cool you should really check out 'The Falls' grand prize slot machine. It drops the big payoff on you from a height of 270ft. Inheritance laywers are standing by to aid your next of kin.

Karaoke seems to be one of those polarizing things with many people having strong feelings, be they love or hate.  Personally I've never seen the appeal but I don't really hate it either.  If I'm not down I just wander off and do something else.  Knowing other people are having a good time makes me happy, as long as it's not at my expense.

I love the banquet without Karaoke....even though I have had drunken fun doing Karaoke from time to time.  I loved the Musical performance last year though...it was VERY much like the Roadhouse in some performances.

I loved meeting Kenneth Welsh.  I admit I wasn't a very big Windom Earle fan...but the kind of terrific and fun loving guy he is in real life is simply ASTONDING!  Kind, intellegent, and he told me about a scene that was discussed about being done for FWWM when they were going to have a scene with Windom Earle and Dale Cooper.  The idea was later thrown out and never written or filmed because it simply wasn't needed to support the main story.

The Twin Peaks fest allows you to find out such things you would never have known otherwise...and as I said before, it is like walking into the show...and living a sequel.

LOL No deep well here. I love karaoke and will definitely try to partake of it while up in Washington in July. :) I say we really try to pull it off at the pre-fest. If people don't like it, they're not obligated to listen, to participate, to be there, to pay for it. If that falls through, then I say we just try to find some karaoke in the area. There has to be something nearby-ish.
