So, what postcards did you guys get from you gold box sets?  Anyone get a special?  I guess there are several 'rare' ones you can get.  Some are signed by Lynch and others are just like a gold foil version or something.  I would be into trading if somebody else has one I am looking for or vice versa.  I have:

#22 - Cooper in bed w/recorder

#48 - Denise w/Coop

#45 - Denise in drag

#40 - The giant

#36 - Gordon

#41 - The Roadhouse

#12 - Bob from pilot ending

#18 - Hawk

#17 - Harry Truman

#14 - Lucy w/Tibet book

#39 - Gun (Bar sign)

#44 - Albert

After acquiring an ungodly number of card sets from coworkers, family members, and my own two box set purchases, I actually have all but two of the 61 cards. The two I still need are #4 - Ronette and the train bridge and #32 - BOB wanted poster. I have a buttload of duplicates...I'll list them here if anyone wants to trade. :)

#3 - Packard Saw Mill
#5 - Laura by the log
#6 - Great Northern/Falls
#13 - Cooper teaching Tibet
#21 - Norma in the diner (2 available)
#27 - Lucy, Andy, Truman, Hawk
#48 - Dennis and Cooper
#49 - Johnny and the dollhouse
#55 - Windom Earle
#56 - Annie
#57 - Dead body and chess board
#60 - LMFAP
#61 - Dead Laura closeup (2 available)

Well done Amanda, I'm very impressed! I bought two Gold boxes and then succumbed to panic and gave up on collecting the entire set. I got two Sheryl Lee postcards in my first set (yay) and half of the cards in the second set were duplicates...

I'm not a huge fan of Lara Flynn Boyle but I think the Donna postcard's beautiful. It's one of my favourites.

I'm prepared to kill to get my hands on the postcards of Laura in the red room and the morgue but I've resigned myself to never having the complete set. They're nice cards but I suppose they're just screen grabs.

The Gold boxes with postcards are all gone now apparently. The new sets are thinner with no room for the postcards.

wow, i'd love that postcard! wanna sell it?!

anyway, it's sweet that postcards were included in the gold edition of season 2. kinda like collecting baseball cards, as it were. perhaps they'll increase in value over time.

Yeah, that's probably the real suck thing about them is they're screen grabs of meh quality. I didn't expect them to look so grainy, so that was a bit of a surprise. But they're still a nice extra treat for us hardcore fans who have been waiting for this damn box set forever! The thing that kills me is just thinking of all the people out there who don't care about the packaging or trinkets in box sets who will just throw their card sets away. That gives me chest pains. I'd be willing to bet that's where all those lovely gold foil and autographed cards went. :(

I'll keep an eye out for those two cards for you! I actually had duplicates of them three days ago but traded them away for the Harry and Hawk cards. :( I actually completed about a third of my set from trades over at Dugpa, including swapping cards with a guy from Greece. LOL He had that Audrey cat mask card that nobody else was willing to give up. I traded him like five or six cards for it. Worth it though. :)

Your brutal efficiency in collecting the entire set is awe inspiring! I won't be using the trading thread because I stopped visiting Dugpa in protest after the moderator berated a new poster for writing something vaguely off-topic in a thread about Lynch One, which hadn't even been released. Maybe I'm being unfair, but suffice to say my postcards shall remain un-swapped if a completed set means being a member of Dugpa.

I bought two Gold boxes from Amazon when it was first released. I paid for one to be sent priority and the other expedited. I suspect the courier's bringing the expedited set to the UK on foot! I've just bought another Gold box with postcards off Ebay but of the two sets I have already half are duplicates so I'm not holding my breath. A friend offered to give me his cards, then had a change of heart and said they were exactly the same as mine (what are the chances of that). When another friend offered me hers I blurted out that it would leave a big. nasty, empty space in her box. I'm a Twin Peaks fan but first and foremost I'm an obsessive compulsive! I couldn't cope with the thought of the empty space. My argument was clearly very convincing because she decided to keep hers too. D'oh!

Do you think some of the cards were produced in smaller numbers than others or is it just that people hang onto some (Audrey with mask) and are more willing to part with others (the Bang Bang bar puddle)? The more I look at lists of the cards people got in their sets the more fortunate I feel to have had two Sheryl Lee cards in my first set.

My region two set arrived by courier this morning (hurrah!) from Germany. Good old amazon.de surpassed itself by having the set arrive less than a week after I ordered it.

ANYWAY, postcards in my set are:

Nr 1: Welcome to TP

Nr 2: Bird on branch

Nr 3: Sawmill

Nr 5: Laura WIP

Nr 9: Bobby

Nr 10: Cooper pointing at map

Nr 50: Cole and Shelly with cherry pie

Nr 51: Donna getting out of car

Nr 56: Annie in RR

Nr 58: Glastonbury Grove

Nr 59: Corridor in lodge

Nr 60: Little man rubbing hands

Any hints/tips on picking up the rest or are they already going for silly money?

On the DVD box set website, in the postcard section you can see lovely pictures of each card made available for collecting.

With regards to the card sets and the number of cards produced, there were the same number of each of the regular cards (1-61) produced. The only cards produced in lesser quantities were the gold foil and wild cards. I just think that the distribution of the various cards was a bit weird. All of the sets I got my cards from came from Amazon and I saw quite a few of the same damn card come through (Flappy anyone?). Probably all comes down to how they chose to randomize the card sets prior to packaging, and specific batches of DVD sets are more likely to have card sets similar to one another. Most of my sets came from the Amazon Reno distribution center, and they all had similar card sets. So. I would guess that picking up sets from various distributors might net better results.

That's a good point. From the two sets I've received so far I have two flappy cards, two of the mill, two of James at the picnic spot, two of the Roadhouse puddle (which I despise), two Annie cards and two of the Little Man From Another Place. I sometimes wonder if it was a payoff for all the bad karma I've accumulated throughout my life. When I read about sets that start from 11 upwards I drool. No bird, no waterfall, no James with bike.

And Maddy, I know I've said this many, many times before on messageboards but there's no point being a David Lynch and/or Twin Peaks fan and not having a multiregion DVD player. It only leads to heartache!  Stop waiting for Muhammad to come to the mountain and treat yourself to a multiregion DVD player. You can buy them for peanuts. David Lynch is the reason I bought a DVD player, and a multiregion one at that. God knows what's going on with the distribution rights in the UK.

LOL! I ripped my envelope trying to get that silly little adhesive circle off of it and I don't have the benefit of youth to fall back on as an excuse.

I did exactly the same thing yesterday...I just blamed my excitement at finally having the set in my hands!  Anywho, I got:

1 - Greetings from Twin Peaks.  Please check your creamed corn at the door before entering.

2 - Awww pretty birdy.  Has he spotted an ear?

3 - Smokin' sawmill plus chimbleys.  Chimbleys of doooooooooooooom.

6 - Oooh waterfall.  I've got a barrel somewhere.

7 - Grindy thing cuts log shocker!

8 - Nice view, shame about the motorbike.  Although if Hurley's thinking about chucking himself over the edge, I'm right there in support.

49 - Big Chief has pow-wow with small plastic dollies.  Scalping not required.

50 - My favourite of the bunch, Shelley and Gordon and lotsa pie.  Mmmmmm pie.

54 - 'And this is the honeymooners lodge"

56 - On my dartboard right now.

60 - The MFAP warms his hands before asking Bob to cough.

61 - Laura has trouble with the latest fashion in glitter make-up and pac-a-macs.

And that concludes the voting of the English jury.

My theory by A. Elk, brackets, Miss, brackets. This theory goes as follows and begins now. All brontosauruses are thin at one end, much much thicker in the middle, and then thin again at the far end. That is my theory, it is mine, and it belongs to me, and I own it, and what it is, too.

I'm really not liking the sound of this. I'm getting my copy this week.

I just read some info on the official dvd site that said the cards are in limited releases to U.S.A. and Canada.

Now I am sitting here trying to kid myself that this is untrue.

Anyone with any other info other than this?

It seems the initial run of Gold boxes came with postcards (including the R2 sets) and the newer sets are in slightly thinner packaging with no pocket for the postcards. If your set doesn't have a red sticker on the front saying there's postcards inside just send it back and buy one from Ebay. Most sellers can tell you if their sets come with postcards or not.

If the sets with postcards have sold out I'll be stunned - 'limited' tends to mean 1 0f 500,0000 nowadays. I've become so cynical about anything decribed as limited, rare, exclusive, hard to find... I suppose Ebay's largely responsible for that...

It's entirely possible that the postcard sets are almost completely sold out, as CBS/Paramount only included card sets in the first 60,000 box sets produced. It's fantastic that they've managed to move more than that many sets, but it stinks for the real fans who would actually appreciate the cards.
