The Black Box of Pain

Someone more inclined at photo editing than myself ought to turn the Black Box of Pain in the picture above into the TP Gold Box.  Oooh... and give Mohiam a Wal-Mart vest.  Then the scene might approximate the torture of waiting in the DVD department the night of the release!  ...I suppose a human can endure any pain...

If you've seen that film, I would say you could take having bamboo hammered under your nails.

My theory by A. Elk, brackets, Miss, brackets. This theory goes as follows and begins now. All brontosauruses are thin at one end, much much thicker in the middle, and then thin again at the far end. That is my theory, it is mine, and it belongs to me, and I own it, and what it is, too.

Actually, I was quoting Sauron, Peter Jackson's version... But yeah, the pain box fits too... Buy the Gold Box or I'll stick this gom jabbar up your nostril...

i gotta agree with the above sentiment. i watched it, if only to view kyle's role. watching 'Dune' was tedious beyond belief and only midly interesting at best. ditto the book on which the film was based; i could only stand to read the 1st couple chapters.

You're both wrong.  It's Brian Blessed:

Just in case anyone is still interested Easy Street Records on Mercer in Seattle had two (2) GBS W/post card stickers as of 10:45 a.m.  January 19th.  This also might indicate the possible utility of checking brick & mortor establisments, again if anyone is still interested.

I now return you to your regularly schedualed electrons.

I love Easy Street Records. I even have one of their star t-shirts, which I sleep in. I stayed in a hotel just  around the corner when I went to Seattle last year. The woman who owns in the bookshop over the road is one of my favourite people of all time and there's a nice bagel shop down the street.

Since this thread is completely derailed and I am new here I must bring it back on point.  My cards (btw if anyone wants to trade it could be fun just because I have very few Twin Peaks friends with which to talk to let alone trade stuff with):

#42  Josie and Catherine

#59 Armless statue in the hall of the redroom (epeisode 29)

#40 The Giant (facial shot)

#45 Denise Bryson (name could be wrong going on memory but cross dressing X files guy [probably my least favorite character of the series])

#49 The Roadhouse with 5 motorcycles and a small house outside, lighting in the backround

#46 Ronette walking down the tracks looking lost

#18 Hawk

#15 Big Ed's gas farm at night

#17 Harry S. Truman

#14 Lucy

#26 One Eyed jacks sign (the picture is the same as the one used on the title pages of the DVD)

#16 Cooper, Harry and a lot of donuts sitting on the table

I think the thread got derailed because the Gold Box postcard discussions happened three months ago when people on the board received their Gold Boxes. The sets with postcards have sold out so there's very few people still receiving them. Between receiving my first Gold Box and completing my set I ate, slept and breathed Twin Peaks Gold Box postcards but to be honest there's not much to be said about them, other than 1) they're made of card 2) they have pictures printed on the front and 3) you can write messages on the back and post them if you don't mind having a big empty pocket in the front of your Gold Box.

There's still the odd post along the lines of 'Wait a minute, why did nobody received a rare card?' (typical answer: that depends how cynical you are) or 'Would anybody like to swap...' (the implication of the  complete lack of responses being: no thank you, you might be a scoundrel out to rob me of one of my jealously guarded postcards).

If you feel you're having to get the postcard discussion back on track it's just because it's been and gone. Metaphorically speaking, you've turned up in your most glamorous party outfit and then looked at your watch and discovered it's 4am and everybody's already had a lovely time and gone home!

Either that or it was one of the top posts on the forum (therefore pointing out it had been recently replied to) and when I read the last page I realized it was no longer on track so instead of joining in the boring flame posts that cripple so many forums I decided to actually post on topic.

 OR

I just wanted a reason to look at my cards and compare them to the cards of others that had been posted so I could cry about the fact that I didn't get the card with Laura's prom picture

OR

I actually wanted to bring this thread back to it's original point because the prior two pages weren't worth reading.

In any event from your post it seems clear that keeping to the topic was clearly my fault and I should've just joined in the flame fest, so I shall: you are a lame-o.

My my aren't you the silver tongued charmer? As I said in my last post you've turned up three months too late for the postcard discussion and that's not the fault of the people whose posts you were rude about.

Come to think of it, your comment about the last two pages not being worth reading was a bit of a cheek given how lacking in wit and/or purpose your posts to date have been. So you wanted to talk about postcards yet were cruelly thwarted in the pursuit of this simple pleasure... People are living on rubbish tips and being murdered in the street... Get some perspective...

Anyway, welcome to the board and here's to many more stroppy exchanges in the weeks, months and years to come, although I must admit I didn't read all of your last post because it looked a bit dull...

It got you to stop posting 3 paragraphs of insults, so to say pointless isn't accurate.

If you think those were insults you haven't lived.

P.S. It's only 'got' me because I'm killing time. Please don't think there's anything special between us.

Can you both do the rest of us a favor and PLEASE shut up already?  It's incredibly clear to all of us that neither of you cares for the other, but the rest of us have no beef with either of you. So. Erm. Spare us? Instead, let's focus on the joy of the thread. I mean...postcards! With Twin Peaks on them! Yay!

Don't talk about tp postcards in this thread or you will be flamed.  Learn from my mistakes.

They were still over there this morning so I guess no one is that desperate for hot-hot postcard action.

I didn't even read the packaging so I was surprised when I dug in and found them; 'What the hell is this... Ooooh! Cool!'  My initial ardor has cooled somewhat.  I mean they are cool but no where as near as cool as the postcards that came with one of the Simpsons seasons a few years back.  Buddha Hommer retains a place of honor on my fridge.  Now that some time has passed though maybe #52, Cooper w/coffee, might be a good match, balance of brilliance and stupidity sort of thing.

Hey facein..., thats the bookshop I work in and am in fact typing this there. Small world for such a big world.

Edited by moderator: This font size is a little better to read.
