This is the best news I've had in a long time...

I don't have either of the seasons on DVD at the moment, because to be honest I'm 16 years old, I only watched Twin Peaks for the first time a couple of years ago, I'm from the UK and I thought I'd remain optimistic about the release of either Season 2 Region 2 or a double season mega box-set.

I'm not sure how true this is, but judging by the response and some first-hand quotes from some people who are involved, it sounds pretty real.

If it is, I'll be getting it straight away.

I'm so happy.

The extras are going to be awesome. We got to show a sneak preview of them during the Saturday night dinner at the festival last weekend and it was all I could do to keep myself from running up to the screen and licking it madly. I'll plunk down whatever price they ask for to get this...

I'm just hoping that with all the moolah they'll be asking, I'll be able to get the "DeFINitive" Edition. Or is that just some sort of typographical homage to Sherilyn?  (Sorry to split definitives here, but really...)

LOL, Suave. That was one of the funniest things I have read in a while!! Good to hear you guys got a little sneak preview at the Fest, just waiting for the opportunity to pre-order this sucker and I'll be all over it like white on rice.

Me too. It's making me itchy that it hasn't shown up on Amazon for preorder yet. Argh!

I really wish we could've shared the sneak preview with y'all. But just as with Comic-Con, we were asked not to record and share the footage. Blah. Understandable, but still, blah! Feels weird to not be able to share that with fellow fans.

There's been an official press release from Paramount.  Check it out here:

http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=7769

Looks like a packed set! As I read through it the only thing that struck me as odd is that they mention 5 Georgia Coffee commercials.

Also, in reference to something Jerry Horne said above, I don't think all the new content is shot in 16x9.  When I was out and about with the Paramount people for the filming locations featurette that we were filming, they mentioned that they wanted to shoot that one 4x3 because they were matching shots up with how they looked in the series.

Anyway, looks great! Not quite sure about the coverart though... they posted it at the bottom of the press release and it still looks just as horrible. I can actually see were they're clones the trees int he far background as well as the ones closer to the sign... very poor job.

But hey, I don't really care much about the cover, the content is GREAT!

SRP is $108.99  Someone at Comic Con tipped me off about the 16x9. This could be just the main documentaries though. There is a nice sale at Deep Discount DVD in November. Good Timing!

"Hooray" would feel like an understatement.

They forgot to mention that they are changing the cover art, due to the outcry of protest the Wizard of Oz one got.

Isn't it strange that this is being released on October 30, and the new Halloween movie is coming out on August 31??  You think there's a motive behind the almost-Halloween date for release?

the one thing that keeps occupying my mind is:
With how much $$$ they will be raking in on the recently released Season 2 DVD, and the soon to be released box set... will they EVER release the deleted scenes from FWWM??

I'm going to go ahead and say "no"
Considering how many cock-teases we've had with FWWM DVDs, and their blantant hype about "fight for deleted scenes" which were followed by "not only are these scenes not included, but nothing new has been added on this new FWWM DVD.......hey, I wonder why we aren't getting money for this? Well it must be due to lack of interest in the show. Surely it isn't due to our own mistakes"

Yeah, but the thing is...CBS/Paramount doesn't own the rights to FWWM, nor do they own the rights to the deleted scenes. So that's kind of a moot point there. Regardless of how well the season 2 or complete box sets do, it's up to someone else to decide whether or not to finally bestow the deleted FWWM scenes upon us. And they have their own business reasons for why they will or won't eventually release them for us.

Mother of sh*t! Okay, I may seem repetitive coming on here and saying how this set looks to be the be all end all for Peaks fans everywhere (but I'm not the only one :) ...but after reading the complete listing of all the contents, well, I think I need a new pair of pants.

The list says it'll include TP trading cards. Anyone know if they are the physical, tangible cards packaged in the set, or pics of them on the DVD?

I agree with jlyon. While in the end it's not the cover art that matters, this sloppy design is a real embarrassment. I've never been a fan of this ridiculous gold theme but seriously, it looks like a seven year old got hold of a Photoshop demo disc and went wild. Tree clones galore! Couldn't they have hired a professional?
