I'm seriously enamoured with the bird, sawmill, hair, road and Glastonbury Grove covers but my favourite is the suspended traffic lights. It sums up everything the long term fans (and target audience for the box set) love about the series. It's beautiful, sad, dark, mysterious, iconic...

I'm glad they've dispensed with that lurid gold thing. I'd rather buy the discs loose in a brown paper bag than bring such a monstrous piece of tat into my house. It might have been appropriate for a definitive gold edition of Showgirl's (aka the film Kyle MacLachlan made after Twin Peaks. He didn't want to be typecast. I can understand how being associated with quality productions might become a terrible burden) but since Twin Peaks isn't set in Vegas or Dallas it was totally inappropriate.

I specially like the one with Glastonberry Grove, the 12 sycamore trees and the red curtains, that's a very evocative image of the show... And any one with trees at night, like the greyish one...

Hmm... I don't know if the artwork being removed is good or bad... it could mean that this thing is less likely to come out any time soon...and the art could get worse. I liked the Gold Edition much better than the current Season 2 cover... at least it was amusing.

That god damn trailer's more popular than Uncle's Day in a whorehouse!

I agree with Kate. They really have nothing to offer except deleted scenes (or a DL interview, which he doesn't really do). No deleted scenes = they got nothing for us. I have good video and audio on the dvd set, a few interviews, that's all I want. I guess bloopers would not really be in "character" with TP.

How do ppl feel about seeing TP bloopers?

I think you're right, Montana –Bloopers wouldn't really be in keeping with the tenor of Twin Peaks, but, frankly, I'd glady welcome ANY extras that they can come up with since this is likely the last DVD set that we'll ever get out of 'em.

I know this isn't gonna happen, but I would love to get all new commentary tracks. One with someone from the crew, and one track with some of the cast, to every single episode. Deleted scenes isn't really my cup of thea usually, but in the case of Twin Peaks I would do almost anything to get them. Bloopers? I would like to see them, but it isn't that important to me. I would love to get some documentarys as well. Maybe one were they focus on the show, one how the show was accepted by the audience, one how they reflect on the show nowdays, and maybe one were they intervjue the few but loyal die-hard-fans and how they feel about the show. At last I want all the TV-ads, promos, talkshows were stars from the show aperad and so...

I know the CBS/Paramount crew were really interested in the talk show bits last year. Amy asked me for some specific details on the stuff we were showing during the town hall, which included the infamous Donahue cast episode and some stuff from Arsenio Hall and David Letterman. They really really wanted to get those outtakes and deleted scenes on the set...I know that for sure. It's so disheartening that they were thwarted by the almighty ego - er - I mean dollar.

But anyway, here's to hoping those talk show bits end up on the set. In better quality than what we all have. :)

Do you have a multi-region DVD player? If so, you can buy one right now off Play.com for £23.25

If not......why not? There are obviously some issues regarding the UK release, so importing is your best option if you have any hope of seeing it soon...we'll be seeing an INLAND EMPIRE release before we see this one....

Has he taken his eyes off it yet?

I tried Play.com but it isnt there...all they have are singular seasons...and an American Season 2 i think...no sign of a Gold Edition

Charles, those pictures for the DVD set are all seriously awesome. I completely agree with all the ones that other people have pointed out, but I'm surprised nobody mentioned the great northern-styled one. I think, like an earlier comment suggested about the traffic light one, that it captures something about the show that i can't explain. But it really sums it up.

Good work mate.

I already have both seasons seperately, and the pilot-episode in also on DVD-box season 1.

So what else is extra in the gold-box,that buyers of the season 1 and 2 boxes don't have?

It will be bound with 100% gen-yoo-wine Finley's fine twine!!! Flappy-approved (even though Flappy is physically dead, he lives IN OUR HEARTS!!!)...

QUOTE:Why was twin peaks cancelled any way, i can't for the life of me think why any 1 would want to cancel it?

...because the second half of season 2 was borderline awful, minus a FEW glimpses of genius here and there.

They completely forgot what made the show so good when it started and then demoted it to a B-rate soap opera at times.

Evelyn, little Nicky, Normas Mom, Mike and Nadine, Denise, the Renault/One Eyed Jacks debacle...etc.

IMO its almost like they wanted the show cancelled.

Thank God for ep. 27-29.

Deleted scenes confirmed!!!!!

Charlie de Lauzirika, DVD producer for Twin Peaks (along with many, many other titles) was on hand at the "DVD Sneak Peak 2007" panel moderated by Bill Hunt and Todd Doogan from The Digital Bits. de Lauzirika talked about the October 20 release of Twin Peaks - Definitive Gold Box Edition.

The set will include both the domestic and international pilot episodes (the international pilot had a drastically different ending), plus all the season 1 and 2 episodes. It was rumored that the set wouldn't include deleted scenes, but that's completely false; they'll be on the set, plus all the "Log Lady Intros," the Twin Peaks coffee commercials (I'm told these were spoofs of the show), a documentary "Secrets From Another Place: Making Twin Peaks" and "Slice of Lynch," a roundtable discussion with David Lynch, Kyle McLaughlin, Madchen Amick, and one other person (he wasn't mentioned on the piece they showed us).

There will be hours of new and vintage material on the set, and de Lauzirika said "We got away with murder" when talking about the amount of material they're putting on the set. We can't wait to see what else will be included.

I actually just applauded excitedly when I read that. It sounds like there may actually be enough reason to invest in this. Now, let's see the real cover art.
