I've started drinking black coffee whenever I have the chance, all because of Twin Peaks.

Really?! It's hard to get a full picture on one thread. Many of the folks there didn't even know about this board, of course I sent them this way.
In spite of the economy, Amanda and Jared did a BANG UP job, with an attendance turn out even higher than in other years.
Charlotte and Kimmy are in a special class of return celebs, who genuinely love the Fest and the people there as much as the fans.
They said the Q&A was the best ever, and we all thought it was especially successful. The venue was not the Barn, but the Masonic Hall by the Roadhouse, which was small and hot, but somehow it worked. Richard Beymer was reached by cell before the dinner and some people were passing the phone around saying hi. Charlotte called Grace Zabriskie because a short they did together, Puppy Love, had been shown before Mulholland Dr at the SAM the night before. Grace said hello and thanks to all of us, and that we made her night. Carel Struyken was pleasant and friendly, and he and his family also seemed to have fun on his return visit.
(The fan film Twin Twin Peaks sucked in ways I can't even describe. I had to close my eyes the acting was so bad. They should be embarrassed to have presumed on our interest in it. Everyone really hated it. I am sorry the celebs had to endure it.)
But I digress! There were so many wonderful newbies! Very attractive couples from all over, and lots of international fans!
I asked some newbies how they'd rate the Fest and they said 10/10. When asked what they liked best, they said being able to appreciate the town and films sites with other people as enthusiastic about it as they were.
Veterans also said it was one of the best; very drama-free, mellow, and relaxing. Many smaller groups did their own thing, but ended up congregating in large groups each night. Either at the bar or the campsite (special thanks to Angela, her Josh, Katie, Ryan and Hyde for hosting this shindig!)
Rebecca from Melbourne, Aus. won the costume contest as Waldo in a gilded cage. Brian (Hyde) from Lake Charles, La. finally won the trivia contest.
We are now nursing our PFD and dreaming of the 20th.
p.s. Charlotte's website http://www.liquidbutterfly.com/ sells signed Eraserhead photos and memorabilia that are for a great cause.

Nice break-down, but you forgot to mention the coffee. "(The fan film Twin Twin Peaks sucked in ways I can't even describe. I had to close my eyes the acting was so bad. They should be embarrassed to have presumed on our interest in it. Everyone really hated it. I am sorry the celebs had to endure it.)" This is hilarious. I hope the makers of that short don't stumble upon this thread.

I hope they do! They were rude assholes, walking around and talking during Charlotte's film and ignoring the celebrities. They didn't even ask Kimmy how they liked their portrayal of her. And it was soooo looooong. It felt like 45 minutes. I wanted to kill myself or throw up, and I know I wasn't alone.
Coffee story: Monday morning about 15 of us were still at the RR drinking coffee and taking shots of the logging trucks driving by from the parking lot.

What a coincidence. I don't wanna talk about it any other place but the fest board. huh!
Ah, I kid. I'm so tired right now, I'll come out with fest stories eventually. :) Perhaps even get my pix up on Flickr before the end of the week. Yay!

Maybe so that people don't leave this site in a way that TPG is still advertising it?

My guess is that the text was removed after Jordan and Kelly stepped down from the festival but the link is still in the code for the menu bar. I'm sure it's not an intentional hiding of the link.

I never knew the festival link was there. How did you find it, Booth?

The fest was awesome. I had a great time, and so did my girlfriend and her younger brother. The David Lynch short just blew my mind that he continued to acknowledge the festival. Everyone was so very nice, except for one really creepy guy who kept telling me about "doing cocaine last night".
The bus tour was a blast. Looking forward to coming back again, sometime.

I liked it. And the director was super nice and sat at my table for the celebrity dinner night. Considering how rude people are at the film night in general, I don't see what they were doing wrong. Half of the people didn't even stay for the freakin' movie. We have to watch Josh's "homage" every year, and I haven't heard any complaints.

Chris, you are the first to complain about Innner Balance and defend Twin Twin Peaks. Not to start a fight, but Inner Balance is not a homage. It's the opening scene of an original feature. And people love it. Cinematographer of Juno, shot on 35mm, professional actors, 5 minutes. It's not a wonder. Or are you talking about the Dark Reel trailer? We're confused here, that's a slasher comedy movie. Both have been shown the same number of times as Puppy Love: twice.
I think whatever Fest veterans, including Chris M. with Flappy, want to show, should be supported. And rhose directors are polite during the other screenings.
Plus, the creators of Mulholland Dr. WERE NOT THERE...
Having to watch Twin Twin Peaks was like watching someone else's family movies during your family reunion. And it was, like, really long!

i think if people go to enough trouble to film a twin peaks episode of their own it should be given a 20 minute slot on film night. it was much more relevant than most stuff shown in the first hour, coffee commercials aside.

It's an Easter Egg. :) Seriously, last year I put up the link a couple of months before the Fest. This year, I completely forgot - with the baby coming and all. It's been a busy several months. Someone just needs to remind me to do it - I don't remember much outside my normal 8-5 job as of late. :) So totally not intentional.

I agree. If it is either watchable, BRIEF, or the audience is forgiving friends.
They chose to put it on the big screen, cheap production and careless casting and all, so it is going to be subject to the criticism of strangers.
