It was supposed to be Dennis AND Denise, a parfait (hence the layers), a prequel, as he was not comfortable enough to be fully femme...
I got that, but it still looked like you'd be more at home slicing up Angie Dickinsons.
Especially after that tongue thing.

My favorite was still Chris's Birthday Party Leo Johnson costume from a couple of years ago.  That was one of many cool ones, but it was super inspiring.

Although I also enjoyed the time Chris dressed up for his pre-fest show performance.  I am glad we got to do karaoke this year.

Party-time Leo Johnson!!!

That is my all-time favorite costume ever at any festival that I've attended. I was upset that Chris didn't get first place (if I recall you got second place, right Chris?).

I've always thought about introducing a "organizer vote" into the voting pool, because right now it's just the celebs who vote, and sometimes they don't know the series that well after all these years. Even this year, one of the celebs asked who if the bird costume was an owl, and I had to explain that it was Waldo the bird who gets shot over some donuts. :)

Chris didn't even place that year. That was the year Eric won as Agent Cooper, and Mary and Jeremy both placed as Maddy and Andy (respectively, of course).

I thought Chris was unbelievably robbed that year. The judges didn't even make a sensible choice. No offense to Eric, who is a sweetheart and looks eerily like Agent Cooper. But it was beyond unfair that he won first place; same as the next year when the guy won for looking like Chet Desmond. Same idea. Creativity should trump genetic blessings any day.

But that's just my two pence.

p.s.  Have an idea for costume 2010 that should at least cause a mini-riot (think more concept ala F.I.P. than Partytime Leo).  And yes, you'll have to show up to find out what it is...

Ugh, I remember when you told me what Kimmy and Jan said. That was just so wrong. Wrong wrong wrong. That was worse than the baby log winning in '04. And THAT was just plain embarrassing.

That wouldn't happen at the Deliverance fest.

i think its in very, very poor taste to completely bash Twin Twin Peaks as it has been bashed in this thread.  i laughed at the intro and i thought the actress who played catherine was actually pretty good.  i highly doubt many people have put as much work into a tribute to the show over the last year than helen and everyone involved, so at the very least they deserve some respect.  also i cant tell if JFK is being completely sarcastic or not, judging by the content of their posts i'll assume so.

I enjoyed TTP, but thought it kind of uneven. But as a fan film, penned by nearly a dozen people, it was very brave. I laughed when Nadine was yelling for Ed at the very obviously abandoned "Gas Farm".  Maybe next year we could do a staged reading of some of these scripts, since I've had my trilogy read through twice now.   And I'm sorry to hear that Flappy has so many detractors. Do people actually object to the film, or was it the fact that it became an ongoing work-in-progress saga? I never wanted it to stretch out, but being the ideas & voice man, I was held hostage to my director's seemingly glacial work habits. Seriously, I don't care what people say about the shorts offered on film night. They're icing, on top of the feature. In the case of Flappy & TTP, these are things that we've developed over many hours, with loads of effort & creative heart poured in, with NO compensation received. IT'S a gift, thanks for NOT complaining about it...

Heck, you can watch it as many times as you want, if you get the Gold Box!!! (Oh, I did win 3rd in trivia!!!)

Oh, it was over the repeated showings mostly. :) As I said to someone via PM, people whine about anything when it comes to film night. They whine about the length of things, the frequency with which certain projects are shown, whose projects they are, how they're even possibly part of a TP fest film night, etc etc etc. It's to the point anymore where we ignore all of that. If we don't, we'd never get anything done.

Technically, no one ever saw the same version twice! Every year it was a bit longer &/or different...   Oh, & Kimmy told me again this year that she'll NEVER vote for me in the costume contest. She must not've been there in 2007.
