Evening Folks,

Long time no see.

After reading and subsequently wetting myself, that Kyle MacLachlan plans to resurrect The Coop, I thought I would come out of Gazette retirement and see how y'all are doing.

So what do you think?

All I know is that if IMDB says it, then it must be true.

"Actor Kyle MacLachlan plans to resurrect his quirky TV drama Twin Peaks in short installments on the Internet.

The Desperate Housewives star played an FBI agent on the show between 1990 and 1991, working with legendary director David Lynch on the cult series.

The show was eventually cancelled after a decline in ratings, but returned in 1992 with a prequel movie Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me.

MacLachlan is desperate to reprise his role once again and hopes to utilise the web to help fulfil his ambition of a return to Twin Peaks.

He says, "I have a crazy idea to bring back Twin Peaks on the net as five minute webisodes."

But the star admits the show's creator, David Lynch, won't be involved with the new version as he is too busy focusing on his initiatives to publicise meditation techniques.

MacLachlan adds, "David's focus is more on transcendental meditation now."

WB Outlaw!

This is interesting news. A Google results revealed this on contactmusic.com, and my naive heart is starting to pitter patter. I hope its not a hoax.

Ah, yeah. Lemme PM you on that one. :)

Nefud, I would love to say that it would send attendance through the roof, but you never can tell. That being said, regardless of how great a response any celeb is able to garner for us, ticket sales will always be limited to 200. Larger than that proves to be a logistical nightmare.

Kyle is getting nostalgic! First, saying nice things about the Fest then, expressing this "crazy idea" about a continuation in print. This is such great news!

Whether or not this actually leads to anything, we appreciate the thought.

Kyle- if you're out there, register here! Say hi! Let us worship at the altar of the man who was Cooper!

I find it strange to say the least. Didn't he ask for a significantly reduced role in FWWM because he wanted to move away from the Cooper character. I suppose 18 years is enough though.

when your most memorable roles in the last 10 years are on utter trash like sex and the city and desperate housewives, your priorities suddenly shift

You catch more flies with honey. Catch them and keep them locked up in your house, and hobble them if they try to get away.

Absolutely!

We should submit Kyle to psychological torture and brainwashing until we have a zombie we can force to participate in a Peaks continuation. The production value won't be so good in Josh's basement with a webcam, but g*dammit, we will get what is owed to us!

I think that if we are to perpetrate this brainwashing scheme, we should all go about and round up as many former cast members as possible for the best result.

This sounds exciting but I must admit that I too was suprised at the possible resurrection of Cooper.

I assumed the leg-hobbling was a reference to Misery so I'm just going to run with that.

YOU KILLED THE AUDREY-COOP ROMANCE PLOT!!!

To fix this grievous error, the opening scene would be evil Cooper paying a visit to Audrey at the Twin Peaks morgue.

Fenn need not even be conscious to participate!

(I will be off camera dressed as Ilsa She Wolf of the SS shouting direction.)

I can't imagine how they could tackle the consequences of episode 29 with five-minute webisodes, without just making it a bit of a joke. Can't say I'm not excited at the prospect though.

Also, very saddening to hear the reason that DL won't be involved ("too involved with TM at the moment"). I would have so loved to hear "too involved with a new film" or you know anything that actually has some kind of artistic merit.

Wasn't that how we got Annie?

Maybe Kyle can star in the sequel to the series that Lynch originally planned, slicing the 150 minute movie into thirty web segments.

I don't know how he could do this on his own without Lynch. As far as I know, Lynch legally owns Twin Peaks, including the characters. I have a hard time believing he would let somebody else mess around with it, even Kyle. The part about being too busy promoting meditation sounds off too -- Lynch is doing other things besides promoting TM.

The question is, Where have you gone?
