I'm guessing the other two are Six Feet Under and My So-Called Life.  Am I close?

I think I ticked her off.  You may have a better chance of getting a response.

You didn't tick me off, j. :) I'm just PMS'ing today.

And no, Angel...definitely not SFU or MSCL. Though both are great shows and I consider them near the top of shows I'd let my ass be raped repeatedly for.

We may have to create an entire thread dedicated to guessing Amanda's 2 favorite shows.  The winner can have a half eaten cheeseburger from a dumpster.  I still think one of them has to be Star Trek if she craves it more than oxygen.  What could you possibly crave more than oxygen?

You may be in luck, my young apprentice.  It is one of Booth's half-eaten Slyders.

The only thing Boy Meets World had going for it was William Daniels. I waited seven seasons to hear that man say "Michael..." but it's almost as if the writers consciously kept that word out of his mouth the entire time.

Not that I watched the series or anything...

I have never eaten a slyder I don't know what you are talking about.

The shows are Captain N: The game master and Due South

Booth: slyders are overrated. You're not missing anything.

Due South had the potential to be great, but the trading out of Ray for Ray was unacceptable. I realize they had to do that because the show had been canceled and then picked back up and they needed to go with a new guy, but still. The show should have been left dead. All the great storylines took place during the show's first run.

Beauty is momentary in the mind -
The fitful tracing of a portal;
But in the flesh it is immortal.
The body dies; the body's beauty lives.
So evenings die, in their green going,
A wave, interminably flowing.
So gardens die, their meek breath scenting
the cowl of winter, done repenting.
So maidens die, to the auroral
Celebration of a maiden's choral.
Susanna's music touched the bawdy strings
Of those white elders; but, escaping,
Left only Death's ironic scraping.
Now in its immortality, it plays
On the clear viol of her memory,
And makes a constant sacrement of praise.

Actually, I'm having problems posting on this form using Safari which came with my new Apple Imac. Trying to work it out. Apparently I need a plug-in of some sort.

I left 2 words out of the sentence, 'it' and 'like'. On reflection though, 'like' may be an understatement describing two of my favorite films. Do you know Kurosawa's films though?

You don't rate them as highly as Lynch's?

To be honest, I have only seen a couple of Kurosawa's movies (Seven Samurai, Yojimbo) and they are good, though the feudal Japan setting doesn't do that much for me.
As for Lynch, I only rate Blue Velvet and Lost Highway highly, so I guess K and L are about even.

kurosawa also made some awesome 20th century-oriented gangster movies. i recommend "the bad sleep well"

I've never seen the show, even though I have a Due South t-shirt, and a promotional Due South clock packed away somewhere.  I should check out the dvds sometime.  I see it was directed by Nuart's favorite Scientologist.

Of course, Blue Velvet is elite - I didn't mention it. Seven Samurai (1954), Yojimbo (1961) and the sequel to that Sanjuro(1962) are very good. My favorites though, which I'd encourage you to see, are: Rashomon (1950 - Academy Award 'Best Foreign Language film), Read Beard (1965 - probably my all-time favorite), Kagemusha (1980 - Palm d'Or Cannes Film Festival) and Ran (1985 - a rare successful telling of the story of Shakespeares King Lear and arguably my second favorite). But if you've got a problem with foreign films well there's no selling these to you i suppose.
