Jordan and i are not going this year, but we were there in 2000 (when the organizer said it would be last), then we went in 2003-2007 (2004-2007 we helped organize it)

It is a GREAT time. You meet all kinds of people and make friendships that last a long time.

Thursday there is a meet up at the Moose Lodge where everyone meets (this is anot a festival sponsored event). Basically, it's just a place where you grab some drinks, meet up, and have fun.

Friday is registration and this is a day that's just for that. It's busy because the movie night is also that night and because it's in downtown seattle, it's a time to get yourself ready for that and get there to get a good parking spot. You get coffee, donuts, get your souvenirs if you choose, get involved in some of the activities (trivia contest, and other contests)

That night is movie night at SAM.

Saturday you get a chance to go on the bus tour if your ticket included that, if not, it's a day for you to do whatever you want (take in the area, be at the registration hall for movies, games, etc).

Saturday night is the best of the three days because you get to meet all the celebs up close, ask questions, have dinner, participate in other contests etc. This is really where you get to know one another and really make your friends.

Sunday is the picnic and most everyone goes home prior or just after the picnic. If you are one of the ones that stay until Monday you can meet everyone at bars and relive the weekend and just have a funt ime.

it really is a great weekend and you do meet so many friends. To write this all out really doesn't do it justice. It's a weekend that you really do have to experience in person and really feel the presence of it all.

I'll take a gander and probably say they will update the festival website with a review here in the next couple of weeks, but generally from the past, people are coming home today, so I would expect something either sometime tonight, or sometime tomorrow.

I'm sure it was a success and you'll read that it was the best festival yet. :D

Just unpacking now but I will have a report later.  All in all, another GREAT FEST!  Mostly it is the people who make it so great but the setting can't be beat.  The smiles are broad.  The entire atmosphere is relaxed.  It is a family reunion even as new family members arrive each year and get acquainted during these few days. 

Piper Laurie as a first timer was a special treat and she had a fabulous time.  Surprised by the gracious welcome of all the fans.  She stayed on into the night taking photos, answering questions and signing autographs.

Surveillance was a special treat, for which I wrote a review. Maybe I'll post it later, hrm...

p.s. Some douchebag stole the 6 off the phone pole at the trailer park. We know it was an attendee, we know it was none of the regulars. Whoever did that, burn in hell. You took something away that fans have been able to enjoy for years, and expected to for years to come.

Unpacked yesterday and decompressed the rest of the day.

Fest 9 for me and Deanne which was one of the absolute best. It was so wonderful to revisit with our great friends and make new ones. All the celebrities were awesome as always. Piper was so gracious to all the fans. She stayed rather late Saturday night for discussion and photos. I was told she had a wonderful time. Charlotte and Kimmy were so great and really made the first timers feel loved and appreciated.

Surveilance was awesome, Go see it!!!!  Jennifer is an incredible director. Just go see the movie. It friggin rocked.

Jared put together a memorial short for Don Davis. Yes, I cried my ass off. Again, Awesome job Jared.  I brought my MAJ Briggs jacket and placed it near the celebrity table as a tribute. Don was an Army officer during the Vietnam War. It was my way of paying tribute to a great actor and a greater human being.

Thank you Adam and John Neff for your shorts for movie night. Again, Awesome job

The fest is an absolute riot.  There are still claw marks in the tarmac from me being dragged onto the plane that took us back home. ;) Went in 2006 and haven't been able to make it back since then. Which I told Eric has to end.  The annual family trip to the Boundary Waters is always scheduled for the last weekend in July.  I already talked with Eric and we informed his parents that we will not be in attendance at the end of July in 2009.  So--so far, all systems are go for '09. 

What an absolute shame about the theft in the trailer park.  May the crotch of the individual who took that be infested with supercrabs.

I simply HAVE to go within the next couple of years. I always read the stories you guys tell just after the fest and i always get jealous. Plus it'd be really nice to meet you guys and put some faces to the names.

Oh, and i'll chip in on the dick who stole that number from the trailer park. You're a jackass, guy. Now i won't be able to see it when i eventually save up enough money to go one year. Proper twat.

I love you. Because that? That made me choke on my coffee and then giggle uncontrollably for about ten minutes.

I'm holding you to your promise of a fest visit! Making a note right now. Serious. I'm jotting on a Post-It pad RIGHT NOW. I will never forget.

 Yeah, fair point. But from any perspective, it's still a really stupid thing to do. Especially if it was done by a "fan" of the show.

And Amanda, i've said it in my head the past 3-4 years that i'll try and get over, but never do. I need to sort it out i reckon. Keep that post-it! It'll be a good incentive for me!

Screenshot taken from the FWWM DVD. This is the power pole in the Fat Trout Trailer Park that we see several times. Granted it's not a huge piece of Twin Peaks, but it was still something to people.
