Dugpa.com has a series of posts about this situation. I'm not really sure what's happening.

Same here - got an email yesterday saying the CD had shipped, and an email today saying the box set was on its way. Mind you, estimated delivery date is 30 Nov, so maybe they're just messing with my head...

It sounds like Amazon is on crack and doesn't know what to do with itself.

I guess as long as they sort it out in the end, we're OK, right? Otherwise, I'm thinkin' we should form a Lynch mob (HA! WITTY!) and storm Amazon's headquarters.

I'm diggin' this new disc (even the cover & booklet pics). It's much longer than volume 1 or FWWM. There's several cuts I don't recognize, but I like everything. I just wish there was some Julee on it. Maybe the Rockin' Back/ World Spins medley from the death of Maddy episode.  I know both tunes are available, but her voice is so evocative of the show.  Wonder if her non-inclusion has anything to do with the infamous falling out with BadaLynchmenti....

I've downloaded some tracks from iTunes to tide me over until the CD arrives. It's a brilliant album but I'm traumatised the piano version of Laura Palmer's Theme from FWWM is missing. I'd bump any of the other tracks off the album to make room for it without a seconds hesitation. It's a minor complaint but is (for me anyway) a terrible sadness.

Really? I had no idea there was a falling out - what happened?
Well, Julee was trying to patch things up with David... At  a post-show  interview a few years back, she revealed that her participation in Voice of Love was minimal in comparison to Floating. Angelo & David had the tracks done & just told her to sing her parts. She had very little creative input (though she did have a song of her own on the album).  But the camel's backbreaking straw was when she told them that she was going to sing & tour with the B-52s. They forbade her, saying that it wasn't consistent with the Julee Cruise image they'd created. Not wishing to give in to the Sonny Bono/Phil Spector type pressure being exerted, she did the B-52s gig anyway...  There. It's out there...

She talks about it on the Music of Twin Peaks special feature on the DVD, too. I'm going to transcribe it because I knew that story and I thought it was so sweet.

"We had a falling out at one time because I said 'I'm not singing with you anymore.' I wasn't allowed to write. I wasn't allowed to do my other things. And it took us seven years. I called and I said, 'Is David there?' And I said, "This is Julee Cruise.' And I head, 'David! It's Julee! It's Julee!' and I heard this clomp, clomp, clomp... and he went 'Julee!!' And I went, 'David, I'm sorry.' And he said, "No, nononononono. No, Julee, no. No, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I didn't respect you," and I said, "No, David, no. I'm sorry. I didn't show you the proper respect after all you've done for me, I'm really, really sorry. I had an over inflated sense of self worth. You see your name in the paper and you think you're somebody.'

'No, I'm sorry.'

'No, I'm sorry'

'No, I'm sorry.'

'No, I'm sorry,' and we started laughing! But it was quite emotional."

p.s. Her singing at the fest was hands down one of the strangest, most incredible things. And then to go back to my room at the Salish after saying goodnight to Josh and seeing her peep her head out of the room across from mine. I went to sleep very happy that night.

Thanks for that, Angel. I actually just watched that feature myself. I saw Julee right after the Fest that year & I believe that Matt Marshall & myself were somewhat responsible for her attending the fest the following year.  Matt was raving to her about my performance of Blue Velvet at movie night. It was quite surreal to have someone telling one of my favorite singers what a fabulous singer I was... (for those who don't care for my warbling, hey, it's a true story. And I didn't pay Matt one dime. It was two)  Oh, & Julee sang Questions in a World of Blue,  for her movie night.    I was supposed to write a review/interview for Wrapped in Plastic & thought I had quite the scoop. Matt called the next day & asked that I not tell that particular story (about the falling out). I agreed & never even wrote the article.  But it's been a few years now & they obviously have reconciled.   During her fest concert, I was stuck tending the bar.  But I did see Ms. Cruise at her first concert ,in Seattle, promoting Floating  Into The Night. I caught her BEFORE the show & had her autograph my Blue Velvet album. She told me that it was the first autograph she'd ever signed! And no, it's not for sale.

Sorry if this has been asked before, I looked around a bit and couldn't see it anywhere.  Is the song that they blonde lady sings on the stage when the giant appears and tells Cooper "It's happening again" on this CD?  I previewed the tracks on Itunes and none of them sounded like it.  I believe the chorus says something along the lines of "I want you right back inside my heart."

If it isn't on the album, do you any of you know any other place where this song might be available?

Rockin' Back Inside My Heart is on Floating Into The Night by Julee Cruise (alias "they (sic) blonde lady") ,released BEFORE TP even aired (1989). Marvelous album.

random fact: in the notes inside the new TP CD, it says that Just U and I was actually sung by james, lara, and sheryl, the actual actors from the show.....just weird to me that James' voice is that high...

It's been sped up to match the key of the guitar part (which he's not playing, but could have)...

It always seemed to me that he was trying to sound like the falsetto Roy Orbison (probably at Lynch's direction).

The question is, Where have you gone?

What creeps me out about the "Just You and I" scene are the drums sound coming from nowhere, like if it escaped from another place through some vortex... BOB's inminent appearance later was not by chance...

Everytime I hear Hayward Boogie I think about how hot Alicia Witt has become since the show

I only got one "treat", surrounded by wind. And it's the kind of treat that you need a DL.com membership to even appreciate. So it's not much of a treat at all.

But other than that, this soundtrack is golden! My socks are on fire!

Laura's Dark Boogie sounds so sinister it sounds like a soundtrack to Laura's depraved drug parties in hell.

As I'm rewatching through the series and film, I am mentally cataloging all of the music I hear not on the current soundtracks and keep praying there is enough material to release one more CD of all the unreleased tracks sometime(sooner than later).

Deer Meadow Shuffle, Remembrances, Double R music, etc.
