IT's funny how everyone was really enthusiastic about it and since a cover has been released, people don't seem to want it anymore. To be fair, the cover is really shit but I don't actually do anything with CDs any more, I only listen to songs on my PC or mp3 player.

I want it badly, especially what I think is "New Shoes" or "Cop Beat", the new "Love Theme" and "Laura Palmer's Theme" variations and the episode 29 music. The whole CD will be absolutely awesome, and I even believe it will be a lot better than the original series soundtrack (which is great, but has a little too much repetition for its own good).
I just needed to vent after seeing that abomination. I actually still play CDs, so I will need to print a new cover.

Me personally...I'm stoked as hell about getting this disc. But I can't help but be disappointed by the cover art. It's absolute crap, to be honest. And I've had almost all of these songs for quite a number of years anyway (Amen for the *ahem* illegal unreleased music CD set) so I guess I was hoping for a little extra motivation to want to put out money for stuff I already own. My hopes are really high for the booklet...I think that's a great bonus to have. But looking at the cover, I can't help but have questions about the quality of the booklet. Oh well. I guess I'm making up for the complete lack of bitching on my part for the S2 release and the upcoming box set.

And for those of us who recorded "Hook Rug Dance" from a streaming RealPlayer file and other themes from a VHS tape, this is definitely enough to have a geekgasm over. And like I said earlier, I don't find the cover too objectionable. It could have been much better, though.

And why shouldn't we object to the vile cover art? It's a huge letdown but it's ridiculous to say that just because people aren't kissing corporate arse they don't want the CD. I work (very, very) hard at ignoring the stupid things people write on messageboards and most of the time I do a very good job but moaning about people moaning is just substituting one form of complaint for another. (thinks long and hard) I suppose I'm at least partly to blame for having eyes in my head. And it was insensitive of me to write that I found the cover objectionable. What I must stress is that it's not the fault of the record company. Their intentions were good and altruistic and they probably wouldn't care if they made no money at all from the CD. For all we know they might even give us the album as a reward for our loyalty! I realise now that it was silly of me to believe the quality of the product mattered and in future I should only use my right to free speech to say nice things that will make people like me. I'll hand over my money and keep my nasty negative thoughts to myself.

Thanks KahlanMnel, you're a star. I'm glad it's not just me and I'm thrilled by your use of the word 'pint' - Europe's putting pressure on the British government to get rid of the pint. Before we know it they'll be forcing us drive on the other side of the road... I find the lack of objectivity among 'fans' (not necessarily DL/TP fans) a bit depressing. If I said I liked that cover I'd be lying. Nobody died, the world isn't going to end and it doesn't mean I don't want the music. I just think it's lazy and cynical when companies spend no time or money on something and still expect the 'fans' to be all over it like a cheap suit. Ryko isn't a charity, it's a profit-making company. The cover's a bad business decision, simple as... What concerns me is, it looks like something you'd pay £2.99 for and that's fine if Ryko are only expecting to sell a few copies to fans via the internet, but it falls way short of what people expect from a major release. Music From Twin Peaks and the Fire Walk With Me soundtrack are beautifully packaged, and it doesn't affect my opinion of the music, but when you walk past them in music shops they still look iconic. I'm worried people will see More Music and piss themselves laughing. It reminds me of a line from Sex and the City where Charlotte gets fed up of shopping for a wedding present that isn't too domestic, pretty or bridey and says "Maybe we should just buy her a stapler, wrap it in brown paper and smear some dog poo on it! Think she'd be comfortable with that?" Thanks to anybody who got through both of my rants - it's done wonders for my mental health and you shall be mentioned in my Oscar acceptance speech... and exhale....

Great posts, leaves!! Get rid of the 'pint', why that's blasphemy!! I just pre-ordered the new soundtrack (finally!) and a, very much looking forward to ripping the box open and putting it in the CD player straight away, in spite of the lackluster cover art!

Thanks smokedchezpig, I'm adding you to my Oscar acceptance speech as I type! Once the album's ripped to my iPod I won't see the artwork for months at a time and I know the music's all that matters but every time I see that cover I feel like a cat playing with a ball of string.

It's going to cost me £30 to buy Inland Empire and Twin Peaks 2 soundtracks in the UK. Why are they so expensive? I'll probably try and get the Twin Peaks CD off Amazon.com for $14 http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw/104-0559875-0187939?initialSearch=1&url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=twin+peaks Just looking at all the Twin Peaks covers, I actually dislike all of them apart from the 1st CD's cover. The FWWM CD makes Sheryl Lee look really old

Absolutely!! :) Geekgasms a plenty. That music is going to be gorgeous. I can't wait to get it in the player--because for me, if I haven't watched Twin Peaks in a while, and put in the soundtrack--when that first note of the theme song plays and I just get shivers...that's even better than the taste sensation when maple syrup collides with ham! Now to have all those other glorious melodies? Man alive--the second series comes out on DVD--THANK GOD--then there's going to be a big glamorous set--THEN we get MORE MUSIC?
Sing hallelujah, c'mon, get happy...

Yeah, i'm from England and i've pre-ordered both the soundtrack and the gold deluxe boxset off of Amazon.com. I don't suppose anyone has a rough idea how long it takes to deliver goods to Europe from the site? I chose the Expedited shipping and, because i ordered something else which was already in stock, i chose to ship the items seperately. It said that the other item was dispatched a week ago; should i expect it anytime soon? Sorry, it's a little off-topic, i'm just curious. I feel pretty sad 'cos i'm looking forward to getting the soundtrack more than the boxset! Oh dear.

I pre-ordered Recoil's new double CD/DVD from Amazon and since it was an import it was directed through Amazon UK and it got to my place pretty swiftly, so I don't think you will have a long wait to receive all your Twin Peaks goodness.

I pre-ordered Season 2 through Amazon.com and it arrived (in England) a couple of days after release date, so I imagine the same will happen with the new stuff. I hope so, anyway!

Personally, I think 'more' means it's music from season 2 specifically. I wouldn't be surprised if some of it was even left out. Like 'Sycamore Trees' for example. Love that tune.

Can't wait to put my hands in that :) I really hope to hear the tune playing when Donna tells James Maddy is dead and the tune playing when Donna appears at the sheriff's wearing Laura's shades. And Bobby and Shelly's tune, playing before Bobby shoots Cliff Howard in FWWM. But of course, "Hook Rug Dance", "Half Heart" and "Blue Frank" will worth the wait.

Great review! Really, well done. I love reviews that break down into tracks rather than just summarize an entire album in a paragraph or two. Well, more than anything now, after reading that, i'm looking forward to the Josie and Truman song. I remember watching the second season through not long ago, and finding that i loved the music when Cooper and Wheeler are sat by the fire in the Great Northern talking about love and what not. To see that included makes me happy i've pre-ordered it just for that track alone. It's plain awesome. Come on Amazon, godspeed! Haha.

So. Has anyone's CD either arrived, shipped, or at least been listed as "in processing" on Amazon? There's quite the flurry over at dugpa about this (and the fact that the product page for the CD now lists shipping time as 4-5 weeks!) and the number of people whose discs even shipped are minimal. Also, retail shops are telling people that they won't be carrying the CD until next Tuesday when the DVD set drops. I ordered my CD back in September, and I kept watching Amazon like a hawk yesterday to see if it had shipped. No shipping, and it still predicted my item would ship on the 23rd and arrive on the 24th. And of course, like the proverbial watched pot, while I slept last night, Amazon updated my order to show it won't be shipping until the 25th with a 29th delivery date. And yet several people who just ordered their CD within the last couple of days have already had theirs shipped. Um. WTF Amazon? Grrr.

Bummer. When I checked my e-mail this morning. I had received a notice from Amazon notifying me the release of the soundtrack has been bumped up a week (to coincide with the DVD set, I imagine), That's fine, but I was really looking forward to listening to the new music tomorrow.
