The song is called Just You & I, so I'm not sure if it's the same or not (probably is). It'd be something if Maddy & Laura were on it. The version from the show has James, Maddy & the very alive Donna crooning together.

Sorry, I meant Maddy and Donna.

Oh, and to Erin's comment, can't we Europeans get it off Amazon.com anyway. I don't know because I've never tried but I know my friends have bought off Amazon.com

More or less I can identify which tunes these are judging by the name of the tracks, but....Barber Shop?? Maybe the song that a barber shop quartet is singing behind Albert and Coop in ep.9??

Optimal situation: I go to Amazon to pre-order the new Twin Peaks soundtrack and they offer to add Inland Empire OST for a reasonable combined price.

...aaand we have a cover.

Not too objectionable. And the addition of a picture book is a nice touch.

Who the hell designed that? Looks awful. Especially the word "music".

Almost makes me want to download it so that the graphic designer responsible doesn't receive any of my hard earned dollar.

But that booklet sounds worth it.

I was really really really hoping that cover art was yet another masterful tongue-in-cheek Gazette manipulation by LogicHat. Sadly, when I placed my preorder...there it was. Oh the humanity.

Seriously.

Oh the humanity. It reminds me of the coverart from those horrible CD maxi singles of the bad remakes of "Falling" that keep circulating on eBay. All cheesylike.

But! At least we have the tunes. And I'm all about that booklet!

Until we open our lavish photo booklets and find that every page holds some new photo shopped abomination... I for one am keeping my fingers crossed they only treat us to one picture per page and not two or three superimposed on top of each other... And they'd better be actual stills and not screengrabs (or else!) because I have my doubts about that picture of Laura on the front.

The scary thing is I honestly can't see much difference between LogicHat's cover and the real thing! Had you presented the Sherilyn Fenn artwork to Ryko they'd probably have handed you thousands of dollars and said "Thank you very much, we'll take it!"

Ack! Good point. I really hope that's not the case. Yeesh.

I could dig up old Create-A-Caption images from the Gazette and make a suitable booklet from that, should the real booklet not live up to expectations. (though it's obvious we're all keeping our expectations rather low at this point . We've learned well...)

Ross over at the Dugpa forum made a great cover that I will take delight in pasting over that abomination.

OK, now that cover is MUCH MUCH better. I think I will do the same. Print it out and use it to replace the atrocity above.

Call me crazy (go on, I DARES YA!!!), but I like the cover.  The falls version is okay, but a bit generic. How about this: a shot of the Palmers' living room, phonograph prominent, with a drugged Sarah crawling in the foreground (white horse optional)?

Hehehe, nice suggestion, Mr. Suave. The horse would be a great connoisseur image. Or what about a tiny detail of the barbershop singers from episode 9, with "Twin Peaks" dynamically superimposed onto the brim of one of the hats?

Anyway, my main gripe with the official one is with the typefaces and the hideous shading. And do I spy the "outer glow" function in Photoshop too? Man oh man. The falls image would have been terrible too with type like that. And the "music" part is bordering on pleonasm. It's a CD fercryingoutloud, and it already says music another place on the cover. Wretched. I'm not a professional graphic designer, but I dabbled in the trade a few years ago. Much more than that designer did, I'm willing to bet. (And if the guess from on of the posters on dugpa's forum that Lynch designed it himself turns out to be true, I'm probably right).

I really like the falls image. It's one of the images from the series that haven't been used to death already, yet carries with it the taste of Twin Peaks. And the use of different typefaces and elements (like the twin peaks between Lynch and Badalamenti) is very elegant and tasteful. I like the spooky-green tint on the main image too. Ross for design president.

At least this CD will look like it *belongs* in the 99 cent bin when it gets there in a few months.

I'm fascinated by what exactly the 'More' might be. Unless the CD's enhanced I can't see what 'more' they could be offering. Perhaps it's a reference to the staples that (one hopes) are holding the booklet together? Or the plastic jewel case and tray? It's amazing how much mass produced tat is passed off as special, collectible and/or limited nowadays. If the album consists of nothing more than one CD of music and a booklet I'm suing for false advertising!

I think the "More" means that there's music from season 2 and also from season 1 and FWWM...
