OK, it looks like the previous introductions thread disappeared into some great internet black hole (for the second time! CRAZY). SO! I'm starting a new one. Again.

So step up! Introduce yourselves! Tell us anything you'd like. Please keep discussions separate from this thread. This is for introductions only.

So I will start this thread off with my own introduction because frankly if I don't do it right now, I will probably never do it.

My name is Amanda, age 31, living in Vacaville, California. I am not only a member of the Gazette, I'm also a moderator, but don't let that color your opinion of me. Regardless of how crunchy my exterior seems, my interior is all chewy golden caramel. Or fluffy kittens. Take your pick.

I'd start out by telling you in great detail how long and how much of a Peaks/Lynch fan I've been, but really, that stuff is irrelevant. I'm here, I'm a fan, and that's all that matters.

During the daytime I am a communications analyst for a global energy company. Any other time, I'm just your average dork, with a yen for wine and geology. My hobbies include the mundane...reading, writing, music, camping, cooking...and the unusual...winemaking, earthquake-chasing, obsessive organizing, Sudoku mastering, and a few others that remain unnameable here.

I like Indian food, surveys, thick redwood groves, the smell of new carpet, sparkling mineral water, and VAST.
I dislike rampant apathy, attention whores, BAD grammar, current teen fashion trends, anything by Gwen Stefani, and raw tomatoes.

Yeah. That's about it. For now.

Hmmm....me?  I'm kind of, well really am, a dork.  I graduated from law school last May and found I have a passion for reading contracts and Revised Code.  I love politics, discussing and doing.  I worked as a campaign manager last campaign season and I currently work for the State of Ohio,, reading Code and statutes....

I love reading, music, movies, the usual and also kareokeing.  I get this involuntary violent reaction whenever I hear Coldplay, so in other words, DO NOT, under any circumstances play Coldplay around me.  ....Bruce Springsteen, Sugar Ray, Dashboard Confessionals also fall into that category.

Unfortunately, my sister is getting married in two weeks so there has been way too much crap with that disaster going on.  Trust me, if you got to see Bridezilla in full force, you would be sick of it too.

I currently spend my time teaching my niece things she shouldn't be doing, feeding my niece sugar and sending her home, watching Jeopardy, playing volleyball and making fun of my co-workers.

Hi! I'm Maddy age 30 from the U.K.

I have also been a Twin Peaks and Lynch fan for pretty much ever, so won't bore you all with going into specs.  I have been a member of the Gazette, on and off, since about mid 2002.  I have made some truly wonderful friends here, as well as some enemies here, but had many great times and great discussions overall.

I am passionate about music, my singing, food, cooking, love learning new languages and meeting talking with people from all over the world and I especially love learning about different cultures and traditions than my own.

I also love writing poetry when I'm inspired enough and have recently discovered a new passion for digital artwork, which I am working at constantly and hope to share soon. I'm also a bookworm, pc-geek more than I used to be oh and I love bunny wabbits.

I also administrate a Twin Peaks website which is relatively new and has not many members yet.  It is more of a European one tho.  Click the link on my profile to check it out.

My name is Lance and I'm 30 years old. I'm an EFL Teacher in Istanbul, Turkey. I grew up in New Mexico and moved to Oklahoma later on.. then to Istanbul after University when I was 25. I like 'Twin Peaks' obviously and was a big Lynch fan before I watched Twin Peaks. It was TV so I didn't really give it a chance.. I decided to give it a chance one night in a local DVD shop when I saw the Season 1 DVDs for rent and was totally and utterly blown away.

I love nature and can't feel normal unless I can spend some time being surrounded by it. I'm a bit introverted but am happily so. I don't know what boredom is.. can't remember feeling it. There's always something I want to do or learn. I love my job and get to meet new and interesting people every day.

It's my dream to go to the Twin Peaks Festival but i'm not sure when I'll be able to when living so far away :(

I used to hate myspace but it has really re-connected me with my old friends, schoolmates, and family so I won't complain about it anymore. There is a lot more info about me there.

Hello all, my name is Gerry, I am a 20 year-old college student doing a film-making course, and living in Co. Dublin, Ireland. For much of my life I've had a fascination for films, (favourite being 'The Godfather), and especially with my course opening up many new aspects of cinema to me, I've been very much intrigued by the cinematic works of David Lynch. In the last year, have purchased\watched Twin Peaks and Lynch's other works multiple times, my favourite being Fire Walk With Me for the sheer power in Lynch's direction, form of narrative story-telling, style and ambition in the way it ties it's own mythology together so well.

Am a huge fan of Lynch and his cinematic works now. Caught INLAND EMPIRE the weekend it came out, and loved it. Watched the TP series back-to-back at least four times by now. Very passionate now on all things Lynchian, which is vital for me being in a filmmaking course, as many of my peers who have sharp opinions of films themselves have quite negative opinons on the man!

My other hobbies include collecting comic books (with Superman being a firm favourite), shooting the breeze on film-related stuff, creative writing when inspiration strikes me, spending waaaay to much time on the 'net, and endlessly tormenting my nearest and dearest with my moments of uber geekiness.

Ooooh, hello sailor

I'm Ange, Flange to my friends, 33 years old and currently residing in Hampshire in the UK.  David Lynch was first brought to my attention by the magnificent Twin Peaks and from then on I became interested in his body of work - and also his magnificent bouffant.

I also post regularly on Outpost Gallifrey, and a Knightmare forum (the latter of which in particular will probably only make sense if you're English, unfortunately).  I also have a LiveJournal (link in my signature) but must caution you in the following manner:

1)  I swear an awful lot, so don't look if you don't like the cussin'

2)  I don't write very well as I tend to just put down the first thing that falls out of my head onto the page.

3)  I have a slight obsession with Doctor Who and specifically David Tennant

4)  Don't read it if you really don't want to have to look at graphic descriptions of "women's troubles"

Here endeth the disclaimer, etc etc

Ok.  Apart from wasting my life on t'internet, I love to read; favourite authors include Michel Faber, Jeanette Winterson, Wilkie Collins, Terry Pratchett and D. H. Lawrence.  I also like biographies and as I have got older, seem to have re-ignited my school passion for History, especially the age of the Tudors.  I also enjoy music:  The Beatles, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kate Bush, Tori Amos, Fiona Apple, Elton John - the list is endless and this whole damn thing is beginning to read like a CV now so I'll stop...

...oh and I like swimming.  Love cats.  Can't stand Tony Blair.

That is all.

My theory by A. Elk, brackets, Miss, brackets. This theory goes as follows and begins now. All brontosauruses are thin at one end, much much thicker in the middle, and then thin again at the far end. That is my theory, it is mine, and it belongs to me, and I own it, and what it is, too.

I'm Chris, from Seattle, Wa., the youngest 50 year old on the planet (for proof go to www.nostankyou.com, choose flash & watch Chew Pool, Fart Contest. I'm the winner!).  I've attended every TP Fest & am the author of the unofficial TP: Live sequel trilogy, read at many fests, produced in Seattle & well reviewed in W.I.P.     Fans may have bought memoribilia from me, or heard me sing my fool head off at The Moose pre-fest party or onstage (Blue Velvet, before Blue Velvet) or on the street (In Dreams, before Wild at Heart, part of R. Beymer's fest doc Here We Are One More Time). I'm also a 9 time participant in the Elvis Invitationals.   I've written over 50 plays(of varying lengths), most of which have been produced.  I've acted in dozens of plays & several short films. I'm the leading man in the indie feature Curtains (www.curtainsfilmnoir.com), playing a quirky FBI agent in late '40s Seattle.  I have 2 brilliant & beautiful children Nick & Phoenix, both talented performers.  I'm a scorpio & currently single (though I do have a special "secret" love. She knows who she is).  I was raised & schooled in Norfolk, Va., but have called Seattle home since '82.    I'm known primarily for my complete lack of humor & ironic intolerance for the intolerant.  That's about enough about me. Next...

Well hello, I am Laura, and I hail from Swansea, Wales, UK.  I am 28, engaged to Mike and very happy, we are hoping to start a family pretty soon.  I work for my local council, in the Housing Office, which is a very interesting job, I see it all here, murders, crack houses, drug raids, violent mentalists, its all good fun.

I have loved Lynch since I was 11 when I first saw Twin Peaks,  it probably turned me into the quirky little lady that I am now.

I have a great love of Jazz, Nine Inch Nails (so much so I have a tattoo), dEUS, The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster and anything NewWave 80s. In fact I have quite an 80s obsession, I love all the brat pack films, my favourite films are Ferris Buellers Day Off, Flashdance, Withnail and I and of course Lost Highway.

Next week I am having my blue rose tattoo, I shall post pics of it once finished.  I absolutely adore cats, and have 2, Rio and Coco who are my pride and joy.  I support West Ham football club.  My favourite actor is Paul Rudd (Phoebes husband in Friends, also in Anchorman etc) he is the perfect man for me.  I also love Natalie Portman, Winona Ryder and Monical Bellucci.

Hello All!!

I am Chris Stewart from Ayr, Scotland. I hav only known the world of twin peaks for a year now and am trying to gather as much information as possible, this site being my biggest resource!

I am an architectural technician presently, however, i have been accepted on a degree course at Glasgow University (BTECHEd) with the desire in becoming a Technology Teacher. I have a G/F who is at University at Manchester Uni so alot of weekends are spent traveling.

I know i will cause alot of controversy... because i can cum up with some stupid reasons for things. Please excuse me! lol

Denise, I would assume you're no longer interested in girls.

Coop, I may be wearing a dress, but I still pull my panties on one leg at a time, if you know what I mean.

Not really.

Hi I'm Don Sharp, from Perth in Western Australia.  I'm 35, married with a beautiful wife and 2 gorgeous kids(they're gorgeous..but 2 is enough - no more!).  Loving the whole fatherhood thing, and relishing it atm.  Not sure I'll feel the same in the teenage years, as they're both v.high IQ and already fairly challenging to deal with.  My wife works in IT which is so hepful because we can talk to each other about our days and know what we're talking about.  That said, we're not hard core on the IT stuff - we leave it at work, and don't pursue it as a hobby.

I was born in Diamond Valley, Melbourne, Victoria.  I've grown up moving around from place to place every couple of years - the life of a "military brat".  My old man was a Colonel.  So I've lived in New South Wales, Adelaide, Brisbane, Queenscliff, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand, the US, India...and now Perth.  Perth's a beautiful place, very outdoors-focused in terms of recreation, great weather, and a nice quiet place to raise a family.  I've also spent a bit of time in Canada, Fiji, Singapore, Malaysia.  Note I've never been to Europe, but when I do will be seeking the inside knowledge of the many European Tweakies who live here!

I did the uni thing, then got to work in IT.  Currently my title is Senior Network Admin for a large company...which I don't like that much.  I used to work for an SME, but we got swallowed up by this new company, so I went from top dog in an IT team of 6 people...to a bit player in an IT Dept of 100+.

Out of work, I spend time in church, love keeping fit (home gym, jogging etc), touch rugby, basketball, in fact I give just about any sport a crack.  But weekly it's just jogging, touch rugby and a little gym work.  Most of my spare time is with the kids - they are amazing little creatures to watch grow, spend time with, and just discuss the world with.  Recently we bought a wii, and even though I'm not into computer games usually, have really enjoyed spending time with the kids on that.  I also love following sport - cricket, rugby, tennis etc.  If I could spend my life playing sport I'd die happy(although probably add little to the world!).

I have a really tight family - we spend a fair bit of time together, and celebrate birthdays and things on a big scale.  More than that, we're very open talking to each other about anything and everything which I have found out talking to friends, is a rare thing.

Personally I a bit of a thinker, but don't spend enough quiet time lately due to the busy lifestyle most of us have these days.  If I were a computer, I'd have dual Xeon top-of the wazza processors, but only 64Mb of memory - I'm just hopeless remembering things that aren't important to me...yet seem to remember all sorts of crappy junk trivia for some reason.  I'm a very loyal friend, someone who would give my mates the shirt off my back without a problem, or die fighting for/with them if the situation demanded it.  I'm a caring person who spends a fair bit of time each week trying to help other people. I tend to be very popular with people, and given my lack of looks, it must be my personality that people like!  I think it comes from moving around so much growing up - I'm able to make friends very easily, and able to suss people out fairly quickly too.  The really good friends I have, I have for life - and love having the Internet to keep in touch with some of them overseas or interstate.

I'm fairly Aussie when it comes to most things - laidback.  I don't like stress - I like everyone to be shiny, happy people.  But there are a few topics that push my button such as speed cameras, australian republicanism, islam, christianity - and they'll get a response.  I have a highly active BS detector, and don't suffer fools gladly.  That said, I've been wrong on many things in life, and am happy to learn and admit when I'm wrong.  For me it's not about ego - it's about truth, and I love a good discussion!

Some people may find me very confrontational, and that may come across as arrogance, but it's usually just the alpha-male in me coming out.  I'm hyper-competitive probably to an unhealthy extent, and especially when it comes to sport.  My hero growing up was John McEnroe - nuff said.

How am I different in real life compared to online?  Offline I tend to be the social organiser for everything from footy tipping comps, to my touch rugby team outings, to work functions, to family get-togethers.  I also play the role of the comedian - I love playing pranks in the office, don't mind stirring up trouble, and you can count on me for a wisecrack about just about anything.  I tend to be more intense online because I'm focused on a particular topic.

Online I'm Albert.  Offline I'm Coop (except with a more active sense of humour).

My all-time favourite TV show was and is Twin Peaks - I've yet to see it bettered.  The series came out when I was at uni, and it was a juicy bit of escapism.  I felt drawn in by the whole show - the beautiful town, the forest, the rustic village atmosphere, the quirky characters.  Back in the days before people were really using the internet, I used to go on the newsgroups and discuss Twin Peaks.  I marvel here at how much people know about TP - there are some absolute fanatics here, and it's a great place to throw out questions for discussion.  Besides TP, I've been mightily impressed by the calibre of poster here at TPG - well above average intellectually, and I've met really witty buggers through to deep and thoughtful posters, and the cool and quirky members - who are across a wide range of topics.

Some may get to actually know me.  Others though will just react to particular posts I put up in my own style.  I'm not the type to try and gain popularity by following opinions like a sheep, or sugar coating something that may be hard to swallow.  If something smells like a rat, I'll call it a rat.  Personally I can disagree with someone on just about every topic, yet still like them as a person...because I can separate the person from their beliefs and opinions.  But not everyone's like that - which I understand.  One thing you can count on with me though is honesty - sometimes delivered in my own subtle-as-a-meataxe fashion - but it's something you can count on.

Things I'd like to do in this life:

- visit snowqualmie and get to a TP Fest!

- run a marathon (plan is currently underway)

- spend at least a year or 2 in a 3rd world country helping the poor.

- play as much sport as I can possibly fit in while I'm still able!

- raise healthy, happy, successful kids.

- keep my wife happy, and enjoy a beautiful, interesting relationship for the rest of our days.

Wow - that's long, and probably more than enough.  If you want to know anything else....just ask!

Hey all! I'm Andy, I'm 26 years old and reside in Edinburgh, in bonny Scotland! I'm a big movie buff, and have been hooked on Twin Peaks for years, but only stumbled on this site earlier on in the year, I think I was pointed this way by Outlaw2x4 who I know from another forum (good lad!). The only other works of David Lynch ive seen before are Mulholland Drive, Wild At Heart and Dune, a very thought provoking director is Lynch! It wasnt till I watched TP for about the 4th or 5th time that I realised David Lynch was Gordon Cole hehehe

As well as Twin Peaks, I LOVE Alias,24, The X-Files and all the 007 movies (I'm a Bond nut!). Outside the internet I like playin my PS2, watchin movies, watching footy (my teams are Manchester Utd and Hibernian)playing golf, and I used to be a big WWE fan, not anymore as its shite! I have a slight American connection as my girlfreind is a Texan, and I'll be in Texas in 2 weeks, paying a visit to Dealey Plaza as I'm also a big conspiracy theorist.

Hope to get to know a few of you and glean some TP facts off ya all

Well, okay... I'll try to do this too (I'm really bad at introducing myself... it always ends out pretty boring)

I'm 22 years old and from Denmark. I study design and culture economy at the university here. When I'm not at school I work in a theme park called Legoland as a retail assistent. I love hanging on the Internet posting on lots of board, working out and going to yoga class... I also love reading, writing, watching telly and movies and lots of other stuff...

I have been a TP fan since 2000 where I watched the show for the first time... or I actually saw it when it aired in Denmark in the beginning of the 90's but I was too young to understand anything back then

Well, I guess that's basically me, heh...

Howdy! My name is Vanessa (known to many as Rocky or Nessa), 28, and I originally hail from Washington state, though I now live with my husband Eric in Southern Wisconsin. Been a Peaks fan since the beginning at age 11 (went to my first Peaks fest last summer).  My dad got me hooked on the rest of the Lynch universe, Blue Velvet being his favorite movie of all time. :) I am an artist, doing mostly landscapes, but recently getting into portraits.  I am work on a few books, one a poetry book, the other a novel. I love music, books, books and more books, movies, nature/camping/hiking/canoeing/fishing, cooking/baking, am hooked on disc golf, and I also share Flange's Doctor Who/David Tennant obsession. Looking forward to chatting! :)

J'ai une âme solitaire.

The sound wind makes through the pines. The sentience of animals. What we fear and what lies beyond the darkness.

I'm Sonia, 34 years old from Italy, two degrees at Rome University (in italian literature and philosophy), I'm a teacher at school and a fan of David Lynch. I play bass guitar in a psycho-stoner band called Void Generator and everytime I see one I keep on thinking that the owls are not what they seem...

Bye :)

It is by will alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the juice of Sapho that thoughts acquire speed, the lips acquire stains.the stains are a warning.it is by will alone I set my mind in motion.

Hello, I'm Klaas from The Netherlands. I'm a 21 year old student at the Arnhem school for Arts & Design, major graphic/interactive design. I love film as a form of entertainment but also as a point of inspiration for critical discussion about media etcetera.
My daily life consists mostly of school and everything around it, I love music, I used to play drums in a band but gave that up a while ago because of the lack of time, I like reading when I find the time and peace to do so.
Also, I spend way too much time on the internet, but considering my studies that's something I usually can afford ;)
Next to that, I love hanging around and going out with friends during the weekends.

Cheers.

Hey all, I'm Betty Elms. As long as you don't drink all the Coke, we should get along.
