A slightly belated hello.  I'm a biologist (the outdoor animal type more than the indoor test-tube type).  First got turned onto the series about 8 years ago, someone had the VHS- we'd watch a whole tape's worth in a row, then get freaked out trying to radio-track animals out in the woods at night.  Bought the gold box this spring and watched the whole series with my crew.  Between TP and the Flight of the Conchords DVD I had, it provided pretty much all of the inside jokes we needed.  When the headlight fell off of one of our ATV's, it became Nadine.  Someone on our crew started drinking "Laura Palmers" (like an Arnold Palmer but with whiskey).  You don't even want to know what was in a "Bob".

Anyway, I think its great that this show still has such a strong community.

Hello everyone!

I am big Lynch/Twin Peaks fan. I first saw Twin Peaks on TV in 1996 and have lurked this forum from time to time.

While I do intend to discuss Lynch/TP on this forum, the reason I am registering now is that I have new (at least new to me) and important information about a very important issue that has affected and continues to affect all of us. I am simply sharing this information on as many places as possible that I can think of on the Internet. I am starting with discussion forums that I know of from before and that have a relative high number of viewers.

Please check my thread on this board and please take it seriously. It is a rather lengthy post but this is a very serious issue.

Thank you.

Greetings one and all!  I haven't been in computerland since 1991, when I dropped out, off the grid, for many years.  I've re-emerged, bought a MacBook, and am amazed at the changes in the virtual world.  I'll be 53 in October, and as far as I can tell may be one of the oldest members, but only in physical form!  I've spent time as a teacher, a librarian, a musician (bass and keyboards), & a conflict resolution counselor.  I was turned on to David Lynch in 1987 when a student told me I had to go see Eraserhead at the small, independent cinema in Portland, ME.  I remember the film disturbed me, but it was alll I could think about for days.  Being a meditator myself, when I learned Lynch was into TM, I was even more intrigued.  I'm tickled to have found this site!

hey I'm Greg I'm 27 and recently watched twin peaks. I'm a big fan of good television writing and directing. I started watching Peaks because when i was 9 I witnessed the last episode while staying at my father's house.

I remember being so scared that I could not move and urinated on myself. I think I repressed the memory for many years till I came across a red room scene on a website and that night came crashing back. I hope to meet more people that like the show and discuss it.

OMG I just realized I never introduced myself properly in a specific thread.

My name is Furio and I live in Florence, my home city, Italy.

I've been member of this forum for years... I must admit I don't remember how long. I know that I have a sort of on and off status in here. Sometimes I'm always here and during other periods when I'm busier I kind of disappear without any word. I hope and guess nobody really missed me ever.

I'm kind of a weirdo, I admit that myself.

I'm a film buff.I got a degree in Languages. I have to finish my studies at university and my major is Cinema, so I think I'm going to graduate in Theory and Techniques of the Cinematographical Language or History and criticism of cinema.

I'm certainly a creative person. When I was a child I sang and drawed and let myself go into a fantasy world. That's pretty much why Lynch's films got me sucked into his world.

I was seven when I first had my few initial glimpses of "Twin Peaks" episodes. I wasn't allowed to watch, so I couldn't understand what was going on at that time... But I was a bad boy and sometimes I just snuck out of my bedroom and went to spy on my parents while they watched the series. Basically I started watching Twin Peaks by myself when I got my own little Tv and VCr in my bedroom and I managed to take the "Fire walk with me" VCR out of the high shelves. I was terrified, but oh how I loved it. And that's where I started my passion for Lynch's stuff. I don't remember in which order I saw the other films. Finally, a few years ago, I managed to buy all the Twin Peaks recorded videocassettes from a guy and I finally had the chance to watch the whole series in a more consenting and coherent way. Then the DVD player came along.

So, what else? My favorites are FWWM and MULHOLLAND DRIVE, but I just love everything Lynch does.

I love art in general, music, books and travelling but I didn't have the chance to travel a lot yet.

I write a lot. I could end working on adapting dialogues for the Italian market from English-spoken movies, because that's really something that I have experimented on and I like that and it should be paying good enough. Anyway, my big dream of course is making at least some films before I die.

I wrote a screenplay a few years ago. I kind of pick it up again once in a while and re-write it, trying to make it better. Now I'm gonna make a joke, if I translated the title of it it would sound very similar to something like "Into the night". And that's all you need to know...

It's not a Lynchan story. It's very Italian, but it's a drama and I see it as a big dream basically because it's something nobody normal would ever be likely to produce.

I also like other more recent series, like "Lost" for example or animated series and films, like "The Simpsons" "Futurama"...

My favorite movie when I was a kid was "The Addams Family".

I love many genres, but I have a thing for sci-fi (any kind or variation), romance films, thrillers and erotic dramas.

Hej! Thought I might as well introduce myself as I've now started posting 'properly' instead of lurking, hehe!

My friend introduced me to Twin Peaks a few years ago in exchange for me introducing him to the Danish series 'Riget' (which I heartily recommend) - and I've been hooked ever since, I've watched the series and FWWM several times since then, and I'm still as besotted! Definitely the best thing to ever have graced the airwaves (with the exception of the Evelyn bit!)

Other than being the local Twin Peaks nut, I live here in Växjö, Sweden, currently applying desperately for a new job, as my old one was a disaster... but that's not very interesting...

Apart from Twin Peaks and other Lynch works, I love Lars von Trier, Hitchcock and dodgy horror films.

Wow, that was a really badly written presentation, but there you go, that's me in a nutshell!

Hullo, I'm Natalie. Have been lurking on here for a couple of weeks now, thought I'd take the plunge and join officially. Still a bit of a newb to Peaks, just finished watching the series/film a while ago and I feel lost without it now! Got into Lynch from watching his early films, havn't watched everything and I'm no expert, but I'm trying ha.

Doing my first year of a Fine Art degree, specialising in video, film and stop motion. Very pretentious, I'll probably be broke forever. I like theatre, good music, comedy, thinking, reading, writing and all that jazz! I'm submissive in pretty much everything.

I'm from Nottingham (Robin Hood), England and love Peaks for The Black Lodge and Coop's suit.

Well, lets see I have been lurking here for a long time so I figure I should probably sign up and add to the conversation.

I guess I can sum it up quite easily by just saying I love all things Lynch.

I am a painter. See www.KeemoGallery.com for info on that if it is your cup of tea (or should I say coffee?)

Well, suppose I should get back to work.

Cheers,
Keemo

Hello,

I am Lady Blackchurch.  I am overjoyed to see that the spirit of Twin Peaks is still alive and well.

I have been a fan of the series since I was a kid and my folks made me go to bed when it came on.  My big brother got to stay up and watch it.  I saw FWWM as a teenager and later the series on DVD.  My fondest memory is running at 11:55 PM down 3 flights of stairs and up 2 blocks to the video store to get the next tape before the store closed.  We thought one tape would be enough.... silly us.

I did name my kid Cooper.  Not exactly a tribute to the show, but just the best name we could come up with at the time.  We did decide to name the kid Cooper regardless of it being a boy or a girl.

I found the Double R diner on a complete accident.  I happened to be in North Bend visiting a friend taking a walk down town.  While my partner was admiring and describing some furnature in a window across the street while I was pretending to pay attention, he said to me, quit looking at that giant "T" and look at this, then we both looked at the T, and said, dude... isn't that....

I have eaten at Tweedes several times, the remodel is horrific.  The coffee served there is indeed crap.  I admit that I am a coffee snob and a bit spoilt but the coffee there is crap.

Ehm... hello everyone. It's been a while.

Some of you may remember me as a small Australian boy with boundless enthusiasm for the cinema. I'm now a small Australian man with a boundless enthusiasm for the cinema. Relatively little has changed, I suppose. Over the last two years I've found love, lost love and found new and better love. I've finished my degree, completed my honours year and just a week ago started my PhD in film. I really feel as though I wouldn't be doing what I do had the Gazette not been such an enormous part of my formative years. I remember it with great affection and have never considered my hiatus perminent. I'm very much looking forward to being an active part of this community once again.

Hi, I'm Brendan and I'm a thirty-something bus driver, which is apropos of nothing. This is sort of a re-introduction as I joined about three years ago, started posting and fell off the surface of the earth. David Lynch's TP was the introduction for me of his work and a life changing and altering experience. It really literally changed the way that I looked on the world.

My dog barks some. Mentally you picture my dog, but I have not told you the type of dog which I have. Perhaps you even picture Toto, from "The Wizard of Oz." But I warn you, my dog is always with me. WOOF!

Hey. I'm Christopher. 35. Massachusetts, USA.

I saw "Twin Peaks" in it's initial run on ABC (I still have all the episodes on grainy, blurry, recorded-off-the-TV VHS tapes-Thank God for DVD  ).  I had never heard of David Lynch, but soon became so sucked in by the show and mesmerized by the Lynch-directed episodes in particular that I quickly ran out and tracked down everything I could find by or about DL. I've been hooked ever since.

I used to post here from time to time about five years ago (under the name AgentCoop), then I lost touch with the Internet for awhile. Got a new computer last week and here I am back again!

Evening! My name is Kate, I'm 24, a UK resident, from a sinkhole called Redhill, just outside of London. I'm obviously a Lynch/Twin Peaks fan, else I wouldn't be here! I went to the festival back in 2004, I think it was the first year Jeniffer Lynch attended, AMAZING! Loved it, loved it, loved it!

I'm a fine art graduate, and have yet to find a job I like. At the moment I'm working for a Spanish bank called Santander, so not really utillising my fine art degree there.

I'm a painter, photographer and printmaker (etchings mainly), I enjoy all types of music and film, especially horror. Favorite bands...The pixies, vampire weekend, sonic youth, the go team...on and on. I enjoy urban exploration, which is just the exploartion of abandoned buildings, mainly hospitals, schools. Big institutions. Very exciting! Food is always good, houmous and falafel with red onion. YES!

I was a member of this site years back, but I haven't been on in a good 3 years, so thought I would re register. It's good to be back! Cheers!

Greetings to all my fellow TP fans! Congrats to KahlanMnel, our TPG moderator, for successfully restarting this rather interesting and informative, introductions thread, here in the Off-Topic!

Strangely, sad but true, unlike Special Agent Dale Cooper, there is nothing special about myself. Erm... Let see, I am now 35 years old and have been a TP fan since 1991. Other than TP, there is the X-Files and Supernatural. Secretly, IMO, there is a connection being made here. Whatever... The Truth Is Out There.

Last, but not least, I must be the first TP fan from Brunei, a small, beautiful country, situated in the north-west coast of the island of Borneo, somewhere in Southeast Asia. Alrightey then, I guess, that's all, for the time being...
