Hi All,

Have been visiting the Gazette for about a year now, posted a few times, but never introduced myself. Apologies--it took me three times to pass internet charm school. Thank you for starting/re-activating this thread as a prompt.

First watched TP about 4 years ago. Rented all of the grainy, poor-quality tapes from my local video store and was hooked. Been a Lynch fan ever since.

I'm a psychologist by training, a bookworm by birth, and am currently stationed in the lovely Pacific Northwest. I enjoy good, strong cups of black coffee, and dream logic.

Looking forward to continuing to indulge my TP obsession on this site. Thanks!

Hello, my name is Jamie.

I am a huge fan of Lynch's work.

Although I watched some of the Twin Peaks series growing up I never got into it...

...until I saw the pilot a few years ago.

Now you can add me to the pile of Twin Peaks freaks gladly.

I hope to discuss my ideas on the series with many of you, and look forward to doing so.

Hi everyone, my name is Kelli and I am a 37 year old woman living in Rochester, NY.  I have been a Twin Peaks addict ever since its birth in 1990.  I have memories of adjusting the antenna on my dinky black and white tv set to pick up the show on the local ABC affiliate when I went to college in Buffalo, NY.  I have never come upon a TV series that has captured my heart, soul, and brain as much as Twin Peaks.  It's so strange to admit that a TV show that is 18 years old this year still has such a tremendous hold on me.  I usually watch the series from pilot until end (and then fwwm) about twice a year.  I was given the Gold set for Christmas and was utterly pissed to find that mine was devoid of postcards.  Aside from "converting" one of my friends in college to Twin Peaks, I have never met anyone who loves it the way I do.  My friends laugh at me when we're watching a movie or TV and I all of a sudden say, "Hey, it's (insert TP character here) from Twin Peaks!"   The usual reply is "Oh, yes, Kelli, we know, that was that weird little show that was on a long time ago....."

In real life, I play a pediatric occupational therapist and I love my job.  When I'm not pointing out Peaks characters in the media or thinking about how Kyle MacLachlan looked so much better with short hair (or drooling over him), I enjoy reading, writing/journaling, arts & crafts, playing the flute and piano (and sucky guitar), kayaking, petting my 4 cats, and kicking the shit out of my stage 4 breast cancer which unfortunately has taken up a large part of my time over the past 5 years.

My favorite Peaks characters are Coop and Albert.  I'm not really an Annie Blackburn fan, but I identified with her being quirky and intelligent and hot for Cooper, traits which I match.  I envy Heather Graham's getting to kiss him!

Thanks for having this forum.  I feel like I can finally express my peaks-ness in front of people who understand.  And double thanks for the explanation of the Packard Sawmill Conspiracies.  I finally get it!!

Kelli

Hello everyone,

I am Drew and my home country is Scotland, although I am pretty much all over the world working. Currently in South Africa, but hope to be home in a few days then off again. Sounds more fun than it is....

Like the look of the board. A lot of hard work has obviously gone into this.

Hi, my name is Chris from Ohio, I am 26.  In 1997 (or maybe 1998) my brother came to my moms house for christmas and brought the VHS box set collection with him.  He told me I could keep the tapes until he visited next.  At first I was like, "Twin Peaks?  Wasn't this some corny soap opera?" and he just told me to watch the first 2 episodes, if I didn't like it I didn't have to watch them.  Obviously I finished the set, in about 3 days of christmas break from highschool at the time, and went on to become a huge David Lynch fan.  Mulholland Dr. and Inland Empire are my current favorite David Lynch films but Twin Peaks and FWWM will always be one of my favorites as well.

It's funny that I just now found this forum.  I have used forums for everything, from guitar to video games to PC building and repair yet I never thought of looking up a Twin Peaks forum until today.  I was really bored and watching the series for the 2nd time since getting the DVD box set and I wanted to see if I could find a picture of the "map" from owl cave.  When I first came to the computer that was my intention, but now I still haven't looked for the map and instead I am happy to have found a Twin Peaks/David Lynch forum.

I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Even (pronounced like "Evan"). From Norway. 26 years old. I used to go see Lost Highway several times a year at my local cinematheque/revival house (they seem to own their own copy and show it often) when I was in high school. I was hooked. Then I watched Eraserhead, then the international pilot of Twin Peaks, then Blue Velvet. Then the show. I also love other directors, especially Herzog, Hitchcock, some Scorsese (After Hours, especially), and Preston Sturges. Recently wrote a 120-page paper on music videos and film and literature theory, my last hurrah as a student, thank God. That's pretty much it. I like this place.

My name is Lance, I'm 34. I live in a town with a Pop. of 498. 11th grade education. My town has a grocery store, gas station... and thats it. Any "culture", I've had to seek out. I try to decide what I need and find it. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. Most interesting thing that has happened in my life so far was catching fire, thank God it didn't touch my pretty, pretty face. Got a girl who loves Lorca, German folk tales, and I love her as much as I did when she was 13.

Hello, I am Sue Blue. I live in Northeastern Massachusetts near the New Hampshire border but I would like to relocate to Washington State, west of the Northern Cascades, some day. I enjoy writing, reading, cats, rural locations, walking in forests, and very select television and films ("Twin Peaks" and those directed by David Lynch, evidently, but not much else).

Hi my name is Matt I'm from upstate NY and I love Twin Peaks it's my all time favorite show. I'm 28 and I was 10 or 11 when I first started watching the show. I would watch it every week with my family and loved it. I remember trying to talk to my friends about it at school and they didn't know what I was talking about. The small town weirdness and the characters just drew me in and the end of every episode left you hooked wanting more. We were all pretty sad when the show got cancelled and I remember dad going NO WAY with how it ended with a cliffhanger. It was great stuff, great television!

What is cool we still have all the original episodes on tape and most of them have the original commercials as well its like going back in time. There are commercials for the new mission impossible, the head of the class, perfect strangers, family matters, this kentucky fried chicken commercial about those old ladies from Italy who came all the way just to eat at the place. This commercial for some kind of hair product where the jingle goes don't be so mean to your hair!

I'm redbear!

I'm also autumndragon, somerandomguy, michael and a string of 9 numbers that I should probably not tell you although I'm not really that attached to the identity they represent.

I'm a Murry (Middle-aged, Urban, Retail) who has been employed in the retail book business for the last 19 years after a brief mistake in the Air Force.

I've lived in Seattle for the last 16 years.  It is a natural fit as my family name means 'moss on the mountain', or so I'm told, and the PNW is a great place for both moss and mountains.  The red bear of the name  (which was almost certainly a black bear) was cited on a mushroom hunting expedition to an unremembered location south of Snoqualmie but north of Raineer.

And now I have to go! To be continued, maybe.

And I'm back!

Did I mention that I only have internet access at work and when the boss arrives I have to give it up?

Anyway...  My Secret supper hero identity is Captain Pedantic!  Captain Pedantic's greatest achievement is saving the world from Dr. Gloom by convincing Gloom that the world was a thought construct that existed only in his mind and thus the only sure way to destroy the world was to comit suicide.

My life goal is to make my way to 'Curmudgeon' without going through 'Crank' first.  My prospects for ataining my life goal seem slim.

My ideal job is Taoist sage.  You have to love any job where "I don't know" is the best answer to every question.

I started watching TP in 1989 or so, it might have been later but I'm pretty sure it waasn't earlier, worked my way through episode 4 in 1995 and finally finished it up at the end of 2007.  What can I say, I like to savor the things I enjoy.

And now, I am done.

Hi everyone. I'm Tyler, 26, and if this is the same forum that I joined years ago but never really posted at my username was Cocaine&Boys. I live in Washington State (north of Seattle) and have always wanted to go to the Twin Peaks Fest. I think in 2008 I will...I've always wanted to see North Bend and I do go to the Eastside frequently for shopping in Bellevue but havent made the additional drive (Well I dont drive that's why) to see the actual spots where our favorite scenes were filmed. This forum is overwhelming with knowledge I'm sure, and I cant wait to begin to absorb it all!

Hi guys, I'm ChickenStu. Aged 30, married with a step-son and a daughter. I'm a huge fan of Twin Peaks, and have been ever since the age of 13, when it first aired here in the UK. I own the first series on region 2 and the second series on region 1! I've only seen the "Fire Walk With Me" movie once, and I don't remember too much about it, but I'd certainly check it out again!

I've already posted a couple of bits and pieces here in the forum on various subjects, but I thought I'd take a quick chance to say hello and introduce myself to you guys properly.

My wife also likes the show, although she finds it scary in places. I tried showing it to my step-son but he found it a bit too freaky and stopped watching.

I also introduced my good friend Leon to the show. He'd never seen it before, and was sceptical when I lent him the season 1 DVD and said "watch this!". He ended up borrowing it from me again, and was so desperate to see the second season, he bought it! Although, he hasn't really got past the episodes where the Laura Palmer mystery was solved, cause like me he thinks the show lost much of it's momentum.

Can't wait to chat to you guys about it more!

On an unrelated subject, I'm a moderator of www.spielbergfilms.com. If any of you out there are Spielberg fans, please come to our site and join up! We have a "jump the shark" thread in our off-topic section, and I spoke about Twin Peaks in there at length! I'll also mention this site to many of my friends there who are Twin Peaks fans.

Take care guys, pleasure to meet you all!

ChickenStu

Hello fellow Peaks fans, My name is John. I'm from New York City and I'm 23 years old which probably makes me the one of the youngest peaks fans. I seen the pilot at the age of 5 with my mother and couldn't shake the show out of my head for years as soon as the internet era started I found it and relived it. I went on to  watch  all the episode and it became one of my all time favorites. I'm here to discuss the show since there seems to be no where else on the net to do so at the moment. Hopefully everyone sticks around so we could have a cup of joe and cherry pie.

Hi!

I'm from the US--3 kids, 2 cats, 1 husband, and a partridge in a pear tree. I am a part-time Coder and a full-time student. I've watched Twin Peaks since the pilot. I love all things British (especially Colin Firth), any of Jane Austen's novels, spending time with my girls, and that pretty much takes up all of my time.

I look forward to lots of great discussions with you all!

Hello all. Been hearing about Twin Peaks for years and finally bought the Definitive Gold Box set. All my friends said I'd love it and they weren't wrong. Who would have thought I'd actually appreciate Kyle McGlaughlan as an actor?

I'm a graduate student teaching English 101...so I NEED an escape.

Hi i'm Kieran, a graphic designer from Sydney Australia, i'm nearly 28.

Always wanted to watch twin peaks (i remember being a little freaked out by it when it was on tv when i was a kid) and finally did so in the last month or two with the gold box set, finishing it off last night with FWWM. what a treat it has been.

just quickly, i love music (http://www.last.fm/user/Kieran0411/), i play guitar and i love art and film and video games too. i generally prefer the weirder stuff for all of those aforementioned subjects... my taste in all of those would easily translate well into into any lynch film.

so hello!

Hello there! Not much to say...I'm just a college student trying to make my way in this world. I got hooked on Twin Peaks and David Lynch a while ago by a friend of mine who first showed me the Twin Peaks pilot. I pretty much fell in love. Killer Bob scares me to death though. Seriously.

I also really like reading (any books...seriously) and theatre. I'm generally a nice girl :-)
