There are loads of great characters in Twin Peaks, but to my mind there are also some potentially great characters who also could've been given more prominent roles.

My top 3 would be:

Johnny Horne - with the Indian get-up you feel he really could've done something interesting, but he remains very much a bit-part (even during Ben's Civil War scenes)

Sylvia Horne - first time I watched TP, I didn't realise Ben's wife was still around. Would've been interested to see how she coped with Ben's infidelity (she must have at least suspected it) As far as I know she was scripted into some more series one scenes which didn't air (maybe didn't even get shot), but then vanished completely until the final episode.

Ronette Pulaski - after she comes out of her coma, she barely gets mentioned. Surely there was potential for more Black Lodge/Bob incidents?

Any other minor characters you would like to have seen more of?

Judge Clinton Sternwood.  Sid too---there was something between she and Harry...quite the spark at the station.

Yes, Igor! More Gordon!! :) He was more used toward the end of the series---I love the scenes with him and Kyle. Wish Gordon would have gone spelunking...that would have been a stitch.

I thought Kiefer Sutherland gave a great display figuring as Sam Stanley although his high-profile probably wouldn't have fit the rest of the crew.

More James Hurley....BWAHAHAHA!!!

No no, Im just messin'. We saw too much of him.

More Albert and Gordon. I mean Albert was in it a good bit, but he kept vanishing and coming back. When I first saw the second season, I thought Albert was going to be aroung for the hole thing. But No.

But mainly I wanted to see more Toad. He was the life and soul of that show. And nobody ever gave him credit for it. Not even one lousy nomination.

Dr. Jacoby and Donna (two of my top three favorite characters) faded away during the second half of season 2. Sure Donna came back with some plot lines at the end... but there still wasn't enough. I also could've used more of Albert, Gordon, OAM and Mrs. Tremond and her grandson

That god damn trailer's more popular than Uncle's Day in a whorehouse!

More Laura! she was the centre of the whole show.. there should have been flashbacks to her life and things she did during the series. I know fwwm gave you an idea but that wasnt enough.. that was just leading up to her murder... i would have liked to have seen more of her childhood and her decent into her wild ways and why it happened... that would have made far more interesting stuff to watch rather than that Evelyn story, or Ben Horne going insane...

Yeah...I agree,jasper!!!

Laura is the most important link to Twin Peaks! To me...she is the main character in the whole show! What does appear in our mind at first when we hear Twin Peaks???...Definitely the image of Laura!

You remind me today of a small Mexican Chiwahwah.

I dont know how to spell chiwahwah, but I think Gordon Coles point was very valid.

I was just about to say the dwarf/Waiter/OAM. :) Another character I would have loved to seen more of was Major Briggs---especially scenes with Coop. They had such a chemistry together---like that scene in Coop's room when Garland brings him the printout (THE/OWLS/ARE/NOT/WHAT/THEY/SEEM). That campfire one gives me the creeps everytime!! Coop and his overactive bladder---too much coffee LOL---then the flash of light (kind of like the first episode of the X-Files). But the convo about the White Lodge...nice.

Well if we didnt see that much of them no one would have watched it except for the small Lynch elite. You never would would have seen a second season. It might not have even been picked up by the network.

There are certain characters I just can't get enough of, like Briggs-y and Pete, but I really would've like to see more of Jack.

I think they were on an equal footing, they were just different. They made a great partnership, "Holmes & Watson" as Harry himself had said. As in one was the brilliant minded genius (Coop) and the other had to pay more attention to the more mundane aspects of things as well as pay attention to the rest of what was happening in the station, where he was still needed. (Harry.)

Anyway back on topic.

Sorry, but I disagree with the comments about both Sarah Palmer and Sylvia Horne. From what little we DID see of Sylvia, she seemed to just be boring, argumentative and have no backbone, trying to be the dutiful housewife when it was blatantly obvious that wasn't who she was at all. She only ever had converstaions with her family too. I don't know, she just seemed a bit one-dimensional to me. Which I think was the point of her character.

As for Sarah, well, it's not entirely true we didn't see her again - she was in the final episode when she spoke to Major Briggs. the thing with Sarah was, when we saw her in that episode, she was (understandably) a completely nervous wreck. So would it have been worth showing more of her? Because all she would have been doing would have been grieving along for Leland and Laura and maybe getting the odd shot. I certainly don't think she is a boring character, just maybe she wouldn't have had much to say that was relevant to the latter part of series two and that could be why she was focused on less.

Now, my three I would have like to have seen more of.

1) Thomas Eckhardt - I am amazed he has not been mentioned yet. He was in so few episodes and yet was such a fantastic character. Yes, he was bad, but he was right up there with Windom Earle in the "evil" stakes. If he had stayed in Twin Peaks and not bothered with (or not been killed off by) Josie, it would have made a fascinating storyline if he had moved/stayed in the Peaks and made Catherine Martell's life a living hell to see how pissed off Andrew got, and especially if the two of them started their rivalry up again, it would have been brilliant to watch, definetly more so than the Marsh crap.

2) Definetly Ronnette Pulaski - In my view, she IS the Laura that lived, if that makes sense. When I first saw the Pilot Episode, I was sure she was going to be a regular character, and the fact she was such a brilliant actress and that wasn't used more seemed (and still does), such a waste to me. She was only in 4 episodes, and FWWM. Granted, she was in a coma for most of series one, so they couldn't use her then, but when she woke up, her flashbacks were so fascinating! Then she saw BoB, then could sort of half-talk and then we never see her again until the final episode where she seems almost fully recovered! So what I would have loved to have seen is just more about her in general. Like what led to her getting into the same bad habits as Laura, what kind of relationship she had with her family, who were her friends, how did she and Laura meet and most importantly, how did she recover so quickly in such a short period of time!

3)Hawk- Like the above two, I ALWAYS wanted to see more of Hawk. Like Ronette, it would have been great to see more scenes with Hawk as the main character, or taking his girlfriend Diane Shapiro on a date! He was just so cool and
I thought it absolutely stank that he spoke so little and when he did , he imparted the words of wisdom onto Coop and it always made him look like the smarter one when Hawk seemed to be the most "in the know" of all of them a lot of the time. Hawk's life outside of work interested me the most though.

"watch out for my cousin.."

I dont know about Hawk. The guy wasnt the best actor. For example when Andy, Dick and Lucy decided to be friends until the Baby was born, and then Hawk grabbed Andy and said: " Andy, are you crazy?" It was really bad acting to be honest. And lets not forget his constant shaking of his head whenever anything strange would happen.
