you seriously think so?

I seriously don't.

Neither were the 'ordinary' characters boring, nor would a change of proportions (having more of the supernatural characters than the 'ordinary' ones) do any good for the show. We had FWWM for that and it worked well - because prior to FWWM we had the series which showed all the context in such a rich and natural way (including all the 'ordinary' characters).

And most of all I disagree with more Laura. It was a great artistic idea to have a major character who never appears in the film... other than dead or in dreams! She was like Sauron who was the title character of Tolkien's Trilogy but never appeared for a second ;-)

Ronette for sure, like the peeps above said, a lot more could have been done with her, t'was good to see her in the last episode.

Albert, could never get enough of him. The sceptic in a town of mystics was an essential balence.

I would love to have seen more of Laura, but I think it would have been a mistake, better to keep the mystery/hunger for more.

Sarah Palmer, she disappears for way to long, it was kinda dismissive of her and her grief.

Dr. Lawrence Jacoby, as the bodies and misery pile up he could have been used more to council people. It would have been a great vehicle to find out more secrets.

bit more of ronette would have been good alright. before lauras murder she was a real wild child... we could have been given more on that... and then in the final episode she looks really calm, almost innocent and her fear comes back when she smells the oil.. almost like any wildness was knocked outta her by the trauma... they could have given us more on that too... would have been far more entertaining than the evlyn thing.... or the whole nadine story... or james... or the hank/josie sagga!

indeed.. thinking of it now.. it seems there was a lot of padding done in season 2! what a shame

of course Ronette! I met phoebe augustine a couple of years ago  at the texas tp marathon, I  wished there was more of her character in tp series, tp fwwm, she's one of my  very faves! she told me about that  cool scene of her walking on the railroad tracks. but I forgot to ask her about that scene in tp/fwwm in the train cab. always wondered about that take when it was being filmed that time, it was on halloween night too, hope I am right

c'mon that one was good!

But I agree that Ronnette made some very interesting potential and unlike with Laura - developing that potential wouldn't harm the mystery at all... Well but what can we do, when she (Ronnette) was needed, she was in a coma (which was important for the plot) and later on, when they could have bring more of her into the show - what good would she make?
He he he they could have invented a plot where Ronnette as a part of her recovery would go to another town and meet a mysterious stranger with a Jaguar broken down

And about Sarah Palmer - same problem. Her disappearance after Ep.17 was a pity but on the other hand, what was she needed for? They left Donna and her parents - for what good? For making a useless plot about Donna's parents. That's what happens sometimes when you try too hard ;-)

Summing up - both Ronnette and Sarah (and of course Laura...) were there as much as was needed for the drama IMO...
So who is it that I'd really like to see more of?

I truly don't know!

yeah you're right! Ronnette met a guy with a Porsche which he had driven into the ditch the other day. Only you know, the car belonged to his girlfriend, who was a real slut as she cheated on him and spent all his money, yet he was scared of her and didn't know how to free himself ... so together with his "cousin" he invented a plan where they were supposed to let a drunken (or high, no difference) Ronnette drive the Porsche (after it's repaired) with that slut in the trunk... and they fall into the river... BUT RONNETTE WAS STRONG! SHE FOUGHT! SHE WOULDN'T HAVE A DRINK!

oh yes. we'd like to see more of such Ronnette wouldn't we? :-)

... and there comes that guy on the motorbike from behind! Sunglasses, short spiky hair, huge forehead! He starts tailgating her! She lets him take her over and while he does he shows her a big nasty MIDDLE FINGER.

We all know what happens next :-)

Some episodes later Donna gets a postcard... Donna, I'm not coming back. I think I fell in love with that woman who kicked all hell out of me on the road, after I did something very wrong. But when she did, it felt like... she reminded me of Laura. I'm sorry and I know I'm hurting you but this is no good. Yo!

QUOTE:I dont know about Hawk. The guy wasnt the best actor. For example when Andy, Dick and Lucy decided to be friends until the Baby was born, and then Hawk grabbed Andy and said: " Andy, are you crazy?" It was really bad acting to be honest. And lets not forget his constant shaking of his head whenever anything strange would happen.

hehehe.  Well, let's not forget his constant slow head-nodding when imparting the wisdom about his people and the souls and lodges and the hand gesture talking thingy he did. That was great!  And the use of thumbs like Coop did.  With the "go on Andy, gove it your best shot!" where you see the thumbs going.

*Sigh.*  Maybe Hawk should be in the Unsung Hero category instead. Hawk's greatest moments...

Definitely Judge Sternwood, I found him fascinating... Then again, maybe it was the lack of the character and the mystery about him what I found fascinating...

I personally think Johnny Horne is one of the most intriguing characters in the show. Just thinking about where his character could have gone, particulalry with the indian motif (possible connection to the LMFAP's whooping sounds?) gives me goosebumps.

Bobby is one of my favourite characters in the show, so more of him would have been cool. I don't like how he just detaches from Shelley in the later episodes though. They were crazy about each other, and the scene when Shelley is in the hospital and they tell each other that they love each other is real sweet.

More Albert, definitely. Need i say more about him? Funny as hell, and proper headstrong.

And last but not least, Big Ed. What a legend. It's not a character, but i would have loved to have seen an elaboration on the Bookhouse Boys storyline. When Harry says that they'd been around long before us, and again before them (or words to that effect), it makes me want to hear more history about them, or at least give them more prominence in the show.

More dream and abstract appearances by the Black Lodge spirits - Bob, Little Man From Another Place, the Giant, Mrs. Tremond and her grandson slowly guiding Cooper to finding the gateway to the Black Lodge and learning more abut Bob. The Log Lady. Judge Sternwood and Sid, and background on the implied history between her and Harry. Joey Paulson and the rest of James' biker gang, and their work for the Bookhouse Boys. (How much more interesting would it be James hitting the road with his gang doing work for the Bookhouse Boys then the Evelyn Marsh plot?).

More Cooper and Audrey interaction. And also more with characters connected to Laura, specifically Sarah Palmer and Ronette, (and her family). Interaction between Dr. Jacoby and his wife. More about Hawk and his people. More Gordon and Shelley. More of Major Briggs' work with the military and it's connection to the Black Lodge. Would have liked to have seen more of Sylvia Horne's reaction to developments in Ben's life: The murder charges, breakdown and the Ghostwood campaign. Anything with Jerry and Ben is gold.

Y'see? Plenty for a third season. :) If there had ever been a TV mini-series or season released after FWWM, it would have been intersting seeing Sheriff Cable from Deer Meadow arrive into town to find out with happened to Deputy Cliff, and maybe track down Bobby. (And perhaps revive the Renault brothers drug operation in the process, as it is implied Cable and Cliff were involved in some drug running vaguely related to Jacques).

If you make Twin Peaks part two,  It has to be "Ben  &  Jerry  the Story of the Ghostwood, Cause Not Much Else is Worth Fighting For."
