Do you want FWWM back on the big screen? |

Hey Guys So here's the deal, I work in a London venue which also has an independent cinema. For a while now ive been trying to convince the cinema director to have a Twin Peaks event. Now that the 2nd season has been released over here (how long were we waiting?!) she thinks this could be a good idea as she has seen all the press that has been about. So, knowing the TP obsessive I am, she has asked me to ask all TP fans what they would think about a kind of day long event with the screening of FWWM (back on the big screen!) and a showing of a few episodes. I have told her how commited TP fans are and what a worldwide cult series this is (she didnt know, crazy woman!) and she is now thinking this could be a great idea, we would need to fill 200 seats. So what do you all think? xx

I just want all of the deleted scenes to be restored into the original film.

If I lived in London, I'd be there in a heartbeat.

Would people be expected to dress in-character and act out the lines like in the Rocky Horror Picture showings?

If you do this, show the pilot and some of the better episodes (pre2nd season) before FWWM. If showing 2nd season, cut out the fat. Then FWWM and you are my hero!

This is exactly what we need - your ideas and so on! My initial thinking was (not in any particular order) show the film, the pilot, a couple of season 1 episodes, then the killer reveal episode, a couple from season 2 then the final episode. No you wouldnt be expected to dress up - although could if you wanted! But we would serve coffee, cherry pie and so on. Im arranging a meeting with my cinema director and need all your ideas so we can really thrash it out!! xx

I'm sure that something like this got suggested some time last year on this board...its great to see a thread like this again. Anyways...I reside in London and would absolutely love to attend a gig like this...Peaks on the big screen would be a first for me. I would love to see FWWM/Pilot/Eps1 for starters...Hell I've only seen 'Wild At Heart' at the cinema (on its release) and that is the only Lynch film that I've seen on the big screen....aaarrrghh!!!! Please keep us updated as to any developments on this, as I would love to attend...what part of London would this be??? Thanks in advance...for your endeavour.

Ok i had another chat with the Cinema Director today and we are going to have a proper meeting about this in June. I am going to put together a presentation for her and what this could acheieve, especially if we could make it a yearly fest in London! So keep giving me ideas because im going to pass them all on to her. Ive spoken to a friend of mine who was in Twin Peaks who said he would love to come along and be a guest speaker and if we could get other cast members to come to it would be great! Lins xx

Im not suggesting FWWM is better on the big screen. I suggesting a London based Twin Peaks day which includes a showing of FWWM and a few of the episodes with coffee and cherry pie and some of the actors (maybe) chatting about their experiences of the series. xx

I'd say FWWM would be a whole lot better on a large movie screen...and even better with 'pumped up' cinematic audio...I can already imagine the delights of my fav scene 'questions in a world of blue thru to end of blue frank' mashing up my senses!!! so here's hoping...

To me the series was just fine for TV. When i saw and heard FWWM a year later on the big screen with the " 'pumped up' cinematic audio.." I was truly rocked. Any big screen showing of FWWM and I would be there. Getting ready to fly to London ! ;)

Hi Guys So the latest update! Yesterday i met with Universal Pictures who are interested in helping us in this quest and think its a great idea as it could also help boost their UK DVD sales. They have offered some amazing contacts and help! So the next step is securing the rights to screen selected episodes and the film. The rights to the series could turn out to be way over budget but we are working on that! We do have two back up plans both of which Universal think are great ideas but I'll let you know that once we know for sure about the TV rights. We are looking at November for this event to tie in with Universals marketing campaign of the DVDs. Exact dates and venue are to be confirmed but of course I will let you all know. The Facebook page is gaining lots of interest so do pop over and join up!! Speak soon! Lins x

This sounds like a great idea lins! You really have a lot of passion and determination to see it through and get input from other fans, which is just great! I go to University, so if it is a weekend or such then I'm sure I'd be able to get there, even though I live in the North-East, but it would be well worth the trek! :) Plus, I never got to see FWWM on the big screen (I was 15 when it was shown at the cinema) so I couldn't get in. It sounds like there's plenty of interest there too, good luck! It'd also be really nice to meet some other fans as well as see some episodes on the big screen.

FWWM is a good DVD, but the film was made to fit a big screen with jacked audio! I submit that Booth who is a mild critic of FWWM should be first in line to see FWWM on the Big Screen when/if it shows in Alaska. The visual and auditory experience makes the film, well, an experience almost more than a story. The showing is guaranteed to boost B's opinion of the powerful work.

I'm thinking that most of them think it's good even when viewed in the privacy of their own home.
Sure it would be more powerful in a theater; every movie is. Even the bad ones.

That brings up to me the whole cinema piece(s) v. DVD viewing and I suppose watching cinema on I-Pod type devices and on demand TV. 2 out of three films I wind up viewing via DVD rather than a trip to the Cineplex. The film maker ( at least used to ) produce a movie. That was the intended audience- in attendence at the theatre with the DVD , on demand and alternate viewing methods as also rans. In general the best way to experience a movie would be at the theater you say. Might it be possible that some films especially lend themselves to a theater presentation ? Could FWWM be one of them ?

Now you're getting into the territory of an American Idol auditioner being told that s/he sucks while defending themselves by saying that they sound like Pavarotti in the shower and if the jury would only come home with them and listen....

Hi Guys Sorry for the delay but have been very busy with this. The great news is that i have secured the rights to screen FWWM in the UK again. Had to go to Paris for it!! Ive also confirmed a venue and date but cannot release anything yet until i have all details confirmed. Its shaping up to me a very promising event that is actually going to last 12 hrs if all goes according to plan!! So what I can let you know if there will be guests (can't say who yet), the film will be there (we're still working on rights for the episodes as TV rights are a tad more complicated than film) and there will definately be doughnuts and cherry pie!! So if you havent joined the Facebook page yet please do. And forgive me being secretive about certain details but someone is trying to steal our idea so we have to keep our cards close to our chests! xx
