Great call on Pretty Hate Machine.

"Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it, don't wait for it, just let it happen. Could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot, black coffee. Like this."  -Dale Cooper

Great call on Pretty Hate Machine.  Takes me back.  There's one kick ass song on there that could work in TP.  I think it's called Something I Can Never Have?

James and Donna getting raunchy on Doc Hayward's couch (fruit punch being spilled everywhere) to DM's Stripped lol.

Yes, Trent put that song in NBK (92), too. Since Pretty Hate Machine would be Bobby's theme music, I could imagine an instrumental version in the scene where Bobby catches Betty smoking in the dark, and Garland returns in his vintage pilot uniform.

DM "Stripped" would go well in the Hayward Light Show deleted scene.

I could perhaps imagine Morphine or Mazzy Star as bands playing at the Roadhouse.

I'm thinking......Tom Waits.

Ben:  "We've laid in a gala reception for your fair-haired boys tonight.  All of Twin Peaks' best and brightest."

Jerry: "We're holding it in a phone booth?"

Makes me think of Slowdive. They would work beautifully on TP.

I was just gonna say, anything DM would work perfectly in the world of TP. I think anything off Violator would appeal to Laura... like "Waiting for the Night to Come". Even the title is appropriate. What about Portishead? I can see Audrey swaying to Glory Box and thinking about Cooper.

But I just don't want to defile any good music by making it the soundtrack of James and Donna making out. Let's just say they make out on the couch to some Chipmunks xmas songs or something, okay?

Er, would you like some lemonade? I also have some saltines and some apple butter. Or would you like to wash your hands?

Definitely some Velvet Underground.

And this is really cheesy, but every time I hear that Band of Horses song "The Funeral," I think of Twin Peaks.

No, a New Kids On the Block love ballad. Because Jordan Knight is James' mancrush.

When Laura and Donna are dancing on the videotape, it's to Milli Vanilli "Girl You Know It's True'"

In an ode to the In Dreams scene in Blue Velvet in an unreleased deleted scene from the original script, the REAL first time Donna met Harold he was lip synching to Wake Me Up Before You Go Go by Wham!  when he sashayed over to the door and he invited her in and she couldn't resist his imitation George Michael jean short shorts from the video as they rocked the night away playing Boggle and eating jelly.

i can see james being more of a marky mark fan... he thinks he's badass with the harley and all that. milli vanilli did win a grammy for that song! (they had to give it back later, but still...) i kinda always thought they were doing the hokey pokey in that video. laura must've been on a lot of coke that day.

i dunno, GM seems a little out of harold's comfort zone. i think of him as a menudo kind of guy. more wholesome, you know? boggle and jelly are pretty wholesome.

I agree on the Brighter Death Now...raunchy atmosphere, maybe a bit too 'industrial' for TP tho...

How about some Lustmord for the deep atmospheric bits? Or Raison d'Etre or something like that...

(yes, I'm quite into the darker industrial music)
