Lynchman's Brewers ( 8 and 1 at home ! ) defeated the Giants last night in the nineth and today demolished the Giants. The Wilwaukee brewed beers are on me Lman.

We've been watching Ken Burns Baseball recently.  One per week with a baseball movei afterwords, most recently inning 9 (just the 70's) along with The Bad News Bears (Kids swearing, smoking and drinking, oh those sinful 70's.)  This put me in mind to share my most distinct baseball memory.

It was April 10th, 1976 (or so the internet tells me) at Milwaukees County Stadium, .  The Brewers were playing the Yankees.  In the bottom of the 9th with bases loaded Don Money comes to the plate and hits a grand slam home run giving Milwaukee the win 10 to 9 but...

Billy Martin had gotten Chris Chambliss to call time which the first base umpire ganted.  After a fairly lengthy discussion the players were called back, Martin went back to the dugout, bowing before a chorus of boos and a shower of beer cups.  The Yankees managed to win on their second chance, my brother surreptitiously removed his Yankees cap (Our father was a White Sox fan and my brother was a teenager, you do the psych.) and hid it in his jacket while we successfully fled the stadium, city and state.  (A more complete version of the story can be found here.)
