I'm up to page 456.  Haven't had any Log Lady references yet.  Is Judy his wife?  The creepiest thing to me is the ones that have stories of getting away from him and not realizing who he was until years later.

Still haven't finished.  On page 525.  I noticed on wikipedia there was a movie on Lifetime about the Green River Killer.  It probably is terrible, but I just wanted to let you know because you are one of my bestest internet buddies in the whole wide world.

QUOTE myself on page 2:

Det. Reichert only wrote his book for to advance his political career. The Lifetime miniseries based on that was SUUUUUUUCKIE.

Log Lady is on p. 623.

As you can probably tell, I am ultra observant.

The section of the book I am in now is semi-dull because it covers suspects who aren't the GRK and aren't interesting either.

I finished the book last night.  Congrats, you got me interested enough in this story to read my first true crime book and I enjoyed it, although I don't know if enjoy is the appropriate word.  Many thanks from one of the resident whackos on the Gazette who you think is a nutjob and always mention your ownership of guns after my posts.

Done with the paper/interview.

'Wish I had thought ahead earlier and written to Green River Gary in WA State Penn, # 866218.

Probably the only cause I'd ever have to ask such a giant shitbag what his excuse was.

well, i'm not into this connection at all, but, assuming there are no other topics related to this stuff, there is one thing i haven't found being mentioned, so, for whatever reason, i post it here:

there is an anonymous letter written by ridgway from 1984, which he signed with "call me fred".

since for whatever reason i can't insert links: if you look up gary ridgway at wikipedia, the link (original letter) is at the very bottom of the page.

from an article of thenewstribune.com:

"the paper said it had turned the letter over to investigators in 1984 and never reported on it, in part because of doubts about its authenticity. "he brought up the letter during interviews," king county sheriff dave reichert told the newspaper. "he took credit for writing it and sending it. he went through and explained what each comment meant." the letter was poorly typed and almost entirely without spaces between words. it began "whatyou eedtonoaboutthegreenriverman" and "dontthrowaway". typed at the bottom was "callmefred." the letter mentions evidence, such as necrophilia and fingernails cut off victims. there are red herrings, such as saying the killer smoked and chewed gum."

i wanted to proofread the original letter, so that i don't post drivel here, but it was too hard to decipher and i'm not that interested, but maybe you are. the news tribune also mentions the newspaper, to which the letter originally was sent, summing up the intention of the letter in retrospect as a "brazen attempt to throw off investigators".

but whatever, since it seems to never have been published before ten (? it's a guess) years after tp ... just a "funny" coincidence (call me fred).

QUOTE:What is the deal with the state of Washington and serial killers?

Monday, March 23, 2009 11:24 AM coolspringsj

Some are likely to be programmed killers....programmed by the state. (via black-ops apparatus) Uses vary, from political hits to random serial murder...and sometimes a mixture of both. Serial killer activity can be useful for assigning certain murders....that are carried out by the state, to a convenient 'lone nut'.

If you're interested in heading down that road...I can recommend, Dave McGowan's Programmed To Kill...literally the only book of its type.  No doubt Ridgway had some military connection in his past...and that is the area where these types are first recruited.  A mind controlled killer ala MKultra. You've all seen programmed killers on your TV sets...they've even been paraded under your nose, sometimes the trigger codes are given out across the mainstream media!

Oh look it's the Washington Sniper.

That aside...

FWIW...perhaps the idea of a dead girl's body being found on a riverbank...has its origin in Mark Frost.  Mark Frost basically said that Dennis Potter's seminal work The Singing Detective...was his inspiration for his writing, in general.

One key recurring element/theme within The Singing Detective...is the finding of a woman's naked body (Philip's mother)...being dragged out of the river Thames.
