I got my ex-housemate and another friend really, really into it. One of them should be coming to the fest with me this year.

Is there anyone on here that prefers watching the show by themselves? I do because no one else is talking and you can pay a lot closer attention to the little details and get lost in that world.
"Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it, don't wait for it, just let it happen. Could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot, black coffee. Like this." -Dale Cooper

I like to watch Peaks with other people who really appreciate it, and so far that's been my parents; they loved it the first time round. When I watch it alone I like to pause on Agent Cooper's beautiful face and sing 'Falling' loudly. So far I've 'helped' two people discover Twin Peaks, and then they could only bear to watch the first episode. One fell asleep, the other hid behind thier hands going 'IS IT SAFE TO LOOK YET, IS IT DISGUSTING?' and then asked me to tell them the end. But I'm working on it, maybe it's a show that only a certain percentage of people enjoy.

No one...yet. Everyone I tell that I'm watching TP either shrugs it off or says, "Figures you'd like it. It's so f**** weird."

Between a dozen and twenty, everyone of them ate it up, devouring it in a frenzy. It's funny cause I love watching it with someone who has never seen it, yet several times now they get so addicted and watch so many episodes one after another that I end up asleep, missing big chunks. I only rewatch it now when I introduce it to someone new, seeing it through there eyes is as close as I can get to the buzz of when it was new. Seeing the reactions and knowing what is coming is actually more pleasurable than watching it on my lonesome, I burnt that impulse out (along with the vhs's) over a decade ago. It's hard to believe it was 2 decades ago that this love affair started. I last introduced the series to my ex girlfriend a couple of months ago, but this time I did something slightly different. I only showed her it till episode 14 (the big reveal) and stopped there. I think this was a beautiful way to experience TP, it was a natural ending and meant her experience of TP's was I feel ,unique. She was happy for it to be left there! If we reconnect again I will show her episodes 15+16 to wrap up the investigation and then straight to the last episode. I think that is about as good as it gets, cutting out the filler and sticking to the core.
