Watching TP again and again I found that there a really good actors in the series. My personal opinion is that Ray Wise have played the most difficult role. I really impressed of the scene when Harry asked him about Jacque's death. Just incredibble scene. There is at least three emotions that Leland have passed whil he seats on the chair - he heard her douther's voice and he seems like hipnotized, then his emotions turn to deep, deep sadness: "it's more than grief... it's deep...inside...every cell... screams...you can't hear nothing else".  I think that he's heart can't take so much sorrow and he starts to cry. Than the anger and satisfaction when he confess the murder of Jacque. And Ray Wize I think played just perfect. I think that you have to be really good actor to play this situation.

I like Richard Baymer too. He played a lot of comic situations with his character Ben Horne. Especially when he's gone insane. I like the way he said: "You're out Ben...Ben you're out..." and start laughing /this is the scene when Hank said  that he stopped working for Ben/. :). I really enjoy.

What do you think about some else actor or actress. Which character is hard to play?

Faster and faster. For a long time you wouldn't feel anything. Than you would burst in the fair... forever. And the angels wouldn't help you. Because they've all gone away...

Yes,I agree! Ray Wise and Richard are fine actors!! The role of the insane father killer is very difficult to play!

I'd say all the actors in the show did an excellent job playing their characters...My fave ones - Sheryl Lee,Kyle McLachlan,Keneth Welsh(just brilliant),Mike Anderson..I don't want to miss any!Great work, guys!

And OF COURSE my most favourite one -BOB- he is another character that not everyone can play.Frank Silva played it perfectly!Way to go Frank, way to go!:)

Beware of BOB

BOBBOB

When I call out no one can hear me,when I whisper he thinks the message is for him only..my little voice inside my throat,I always think there must be something that I've done or something I can do...But no one no one comes to help,he says,a little girl like you...

Ontkean, Wise and Beymer for me, definitely. They're all flawless. And Miguel Ferrer too as it goes. Nobody else could have done Albert the way he does.

 Others worthy of a mention:

Madchen Amick
Sherilyn Fenn
Grace Zabriskie
Jack Nance
Dana Ashbrook

Ray Wise, Richard Beymer, Al Strobel, Don Davis, Royal Dano, Kenneth Welsh, Piper Laurie, Jack Nance

My vote goes to Ray Wise. I still think the show lost a lot of it's steam without him. My runner up would have to be Grace Zibriski.

Jumping on the Ray Wise bandwagon. Extremely underrated actor all the way around, wish he'd get some parts he deserves ("Good Night and Good Luck" was a part long overdue for an actor of his caliber).

He was fantastic in Jeepers Creepers 2...but seriously, get this guy more work. Isn't Ray playing the devil on some show right now? I don;t have cable so I'm a little out of the loop. Velouria mentioned it to me a few months ago.

This was a recent discussion. (Not picking on you, it's worth repeating.)

I don't know if it's just me, but certain actors I had a hard time understanding their lines. For some reason I had this issue with Jean Renault, Josie Packard, and John Justice Wheeler (mumbled).

All the main cast was solid. For me, Kyle MacLachlan is the best. He has the best role in the early part of the

series and he jumps in head first.

Ray Wise was great in FWWM, and had some good moments in the series, but he is pretty much just a "cry baby" for all of season 1.

Jack Nance seems to be playing himself, which is great for the character, but I'm not sure how good of an actor he is.

Kenneth Welsh has moments of greatness, but sometimes he hams it up too much, although part of that is the writing.

My views of certain actors have evolved as I've gotten older.

I used to like Lara Flynn Boyle when I was a teenager, but now my view is more in line with the majority of fans (annoying).  For some odd reason I didn't like Sherilyn Fenn until I got older (lover her now!), I think it was her hair in the pilot LOL

I think TP delivered some of the most superb acting I have ever seen.  I am partial to Kyle MacLachlan, Kenneth Welsh, Ray Wise, and Miguel Ferrer.  I think some of the occasional crappy writing in season 2 kind of ruined it for characters/actors that up until then I thought had merit.  Wendy Robie in particular.

Nightingale, you rule. Leland's confession scene is my favourite in the whole series. Just writing the words "every cell screams" gives me the creeps.

So, yeah: Ray Wise for me. I love Grace Zabriskie, Sheryl Lee, Piper Laurie and Sherilyn Fenn too. The casting in general is amazing. They're all good. I don't like Kenneth Welsh all that much, but that's more due to the lines he's given.

Some bit players suck, though. Nicholas Hope (Malcolm) and Robin Lively (Lana) come to mind.

And some rule. John Boylan (mayor Milford) is really underrated and just amazing in all he does. "You vixen, you!" "Is this thing ON?!" "I don't wanna talk, I wanna shoot!". Hank Worden (Droolcup) too. Since we're talking actors in general and not how well they fit specifically, I nominate Ian Buchanan too. I don't like him as Dick Tremayne in the series, but his acting is amazing if you manage to isolate it from the show. He's great in On the Air too. And Royal Dano, of course.

I have always believed that Grace Zabriskie was fantastic during the series, and Al Strobel was consistently effective and convincing in his role.

I second that, I was never able to take my eyes of either of them, particularly Strobel.

Ray Wise and Grace Zabriske, without a doubt. For me, the scene in the pilot where Leland and Sarah learn of Laura's death was the crowning emotional point of the show. It was more raw and visceral than anything it did from that point on. The grief that each of them displayed was so genuine that I was stunned.
