What actors and actresses from Twin Peaks do you think were the best and which ones do you think couldn't act their way out of a paper bag? I thought Ray Wise was incredible at displaying the wide range of emotions from grief to rage and everything in between as Leland. I always felt Eric Da Re seemed as if he was "acting" and trying to show menace, but it came off in a false way as hamming it up as the "abusive husband". What in your opinion were the best and worst actors as their respective characters on Twin Peaks?

Well, this may not be a very popular opinion, but I think that Lara Flynn Boyle was pretty darn solid throughout --especially given that the writing for Donna was majorly all over the place starting pretty early on in the series. Her performance in the pilot was nothing short of beautiful. I also love Madchen Amick. Her Shelly was totally reliable and consistent through the entire series. Chops wise: Piper Laurie, obviously. Jack Nance, Everett McGill, Ray Wise, GRACE ZABRISKIE!!!!!! Peggy Lipton was always perfectly Norma... sweet Norma. It seems like later on, many of the actors lost their grip on their characters with all the writer and director changes. So it goes.

Piper, Ray, Grace, Peggy, of course. While I do agree that Lara F. Boyle emotes well, I'd mention Harry Goaz and Richard Beymer before her.
Who was Dwayne Milford? He was the BEST!!! I also really appreciated coma Leo, haha.
When you watch You Don't Know Jack you realize what a tremendous actor Jack Nance was, too.
Ted Raimi sucks. I would have liked to see what Jan D'arcy would've done with a bigger part. Annette McCarthy- blah (even though I like the subpplot.) Billy Zane- love him madly, but cheesed*ck I'm undecided on Heather Graham. I know I love what she does in ep 28-29.

Okay, I'll bite: Kyle Maclachlan, Michael Ontkean, Richard Beymer, Russ Tamblyn, Piper Laurie, Jack Nance, Peggy Lipton and Everett McGill all "veteran" actors or at least had some experience and they all deliver. Newbies: Sherilyn Fenn and Madchen Amick take top prize here. Guest spots or periodic players: Miguel Ferrer & Kenneth Welsh,

With about 7 films under her belt before T.P., at least 2 as lead (Meridian & Two Moon Junction), Sherilyn Fenn could hardly be called a "newbie" (considering the amount of flesh she shows in those pair, "nude-bie" is more appropos). Madchen was fresh off the bus though!

I need to check out those pre-TP Sherilyn Fenn movies if they are available. Ted Raimi definitely does not need to quit his day job, whatever that may be.

How could anyone not know this immortal line from the 80's? "What a fox. Dresses like Elvis Costello, looks like the karate kid. I'm gonna get him." -Sandy (Fenn) in Just One of the Guys

All of her pre-TP output should be available. As for Ted "Brother of Sam" Raimi, I believe his day job is & has been for over 20 years, TV & movie actor. Sorry if you didn't care for his portrayal of "Heavy Metal Youth" (his onscreen billing). It was a cliche sort of role & his choices were on this side of obvious, but his director (not sure who it was on that episode) okayed the reading, so I'd put it on their shoulders. That's the job of the project's boss, to direct. (or do you just have a personal problem with Ted?)

I should have specified: I think Ted sucks in everything. Hes annoying to me on a Carrot-Top/Tom Greene scale.
