Aye that. I watched it when it was originally on, and then when I got the VHS tapes a few years later, I watched it multiple times a year for several years, and I lost count. Now I only watch it about twice a year, though the last couple of times I've found it hard to get through the whole series without seriously losing interest during the Little Nicky-Evelyn-Annie section. So technically those weren't complete viewings. :)

I don't think it makes me better than anyone that I've see the show so much. I figure it just shows what a complete lack of life I really have. :) Not to mention that on top of that, I have almost zero interest in analyzing the show. I'm happy with it for what it appears to be...definitely don't need any mysteries solved.

Totally agree.

Yep, that was me, too... I think I've watched the series all the way through seven or eight times all in all, but there are episodes that I just watched in isolation again and again. (I was fortunate - in this context, at least - in that I missed half a year of school, during which time I pretty much did nothing but read psychology and watch Twin Peaks.) It certainly beat school, anyway.

FWWM I've seen about five times since it was released, in which time my opinion has swung from 'awful' to 'best film ever'.

I have to watch the whole thing, crap parts included, or the effect is ruined. I can't just skip to the good parts. I like the anticipation, and the filling out of the characters. I think it makes the good parts better.

I've probably watched it about 5 or 6 times all the way through.

Probably around 30 times for the series and 10 for FWWM.

Let's see, I began watching TP the second time they broadcasted the 1st season on ABC in 1990.  Like many people, I recorded the episodes, played them back again and again, happy with my own "bootleg" collection well into college (when I remember adjusting the antenna on my tiny black and white TV to pick up the local ABC affiliate during the second season).  Then I bought the VHS tapes when they came out and just received the DVD Gold version for Christmas.  However, there weren't any postcards, even though it had been sealed.  Disappointment city!  I would say I watch the entire series, always starting with the pilot and ending with FWWM, about 2 or 3 times a year.  Then I have a mourning period when I remember that's all there is to the series.

To this day I register Kyle MacLachlan as a big-time hottie...... but I must say I like his clean-cut Cooper style the best of anything I've ever seen him in.

I just finished the golden circle again.

What ticks me off is there has NEVER been a single TV show that has captured my imagination before or since.  I like Lost, the new Battlestar Galactica, and Buffy, but even those aren't even close to what kind of a hold Twin Peaks has on me, so I just relive Twin Peaks over and over and over.

Too many times. Somewhere around a dozen at a guess.

I still try to 'share' it with as many people who will have the patience to enjoy it.

Full series probably 5-7 times.  FWWM probably 10-15 but only because it used to be on Showtime late night quite regularly and I worked odd hours so I found myself watching it all the time.

It really is like a fine wine that gets better with age and I notice new things upon each new viewing that expand my views and knowledge of the Twin Peaks universe making it infinitely rewarding.

Out of those that didn't watch TP when it first aired who watched it, knowing Leland was the killer and how did it affect your enjoyment do you think?

Enhanced. I wasn't so distracted by "who killed Laura Palmer" and could enjoy the finer details, the dramatic irony etc.

I'm in the 30-odd then lost-count family, too.

I agree that the knowledge enhanced my enjoyment for the same reason, but I also would have enjoyed the process of developing theories as to who the killer was.

I am not certain of how many times I have viewed the series and FWWM.

Probably seen the series about 6 times , but viewed season 1 a few more, and seen FWWM about 4 or 5 times. I still find someting new to think about with each viewing but I thinked thats what keeps me hooked!

Um, let's see... I was about 14/15 when I first started watching the show and I'm 32 now... I would guess it's way more than 30 times for the show and probably a little less for the film.  I know I watched it, and thought about it almost constantly when I was a teenager.  When I got home from school I would immediately start watching it and in bed I would read and re-read Laura's diary.  When I went away to university when I was 19 I kinda lost touch with it for a while - no telly or VHS in my room (wow, that's hard to imagine now!).

There are certain episodes esp from the first season that I can just watch again and again.  I still have my original VHS tapes of the second series but they are starting to wear a little thin in places.

I completely lost count. About 10 years back I watched it every night until I fell asleep. I had just bought t´my vhs´ back then.

Since my bf and I moved in together I haven´t watched it that much as I used to. I´m afraid he would leave me if I did.

Yeah but no but yeah but no but....

There isn't a rhyme or reason of when I watch it again other than the feeling just has to be right.

It's funny how TP is basically a circle and you could just keep watching TP then FWWM then TP over and over again as it goes in a circle.

It's like a fine wine that gets better with age and you notice new things each time you view it.

It's a different experience every time and it really feels like you are "going" to Twin Peaks.

I could not agree with your comments more. It really just has to feel like the right time.

I reckon I am coming up on 5 times for TP and 7 or more for FWWM.

And no matter how many time I watch them I cant help hoping (for want of a better word) that things turn out slightly differently!!

1 & 3/4 episodes away from my 2nd complete run through of TP.  My first was over my 3 day Christmas weekend last year, did little else but sleep.  In early January I started again and got through 18(?) but just couldn't get past the James and Evelyn plotline [shudders]. Discovered a bright side this time in James' riding off into the sunset.

Borrowed FWWM and watched it twice. Decided I'd run through the series a couple more times before getting into it too deep. Am currently scouting by foot for a used copy.

I have watched my DVD set of Season 1 LOADS of times! I've watched Season 2 on DVD all the way through only once, and nowadays all I do with it is just watch the odd select episode.

As for the "Fire Walk With Me" movie, I've only ever seen that once when it was on late night television. That was YEARS ago!

Season 1: twice (1991, 2008).
Season 2: first part twice, second part once (1991, 2008).
FWWM: once (2008 -- two days ago, in fact).

It made a huge impression on me as a kid -- I was 13 in 1991 - and I always, throughout the years, at the back of my mind, thought: One day I'm going to sit down and watch the whole thing. That I did two weeks ago or so; and it was every bit as compelling as I remembered, perhaps even more so. I'm still cold-turkeying.

I haven't watched the TP series/FWWM all the way through since December 07/ Janurary 08.  How long do you usually go between entire viewings of TP/FWWM?  Just curious, because I am itching to maybe give it a run through again soon.

I'm just about to finish my second run-through. It's funny that it has been described as a circle because I finished off watching the episodes with FWWM, about 1 year ago. And this time, I started the run with FWWM. About to watch the last two episodes anyway. My main feelings that have changed in rewatching it, have been I have appreciated Season One a lot more and found much of Season Two really terrible, particularly Dick Tremaine and Ben Horne's Civil War, although I suppose they needed something to change Ben the master criminal into the carrot-munching good guy (I like both, just not the in-between madness phase). I've also found Lucy a little tiresome and I LOVE Albert. And as a result of all that, I've found the late return-to-form in Season Two more prominent. I think I mainly liked Season One more and Two less as a result of reading on here, everyone is quite critical of the mid-point of Season Two (and I can see why), but before I guess I wasn't paying too much attention to notice the drop in quality. Too much is probably made of the James/Evelyn subplot, which is definitely pretty bad, but not out-of-keeping with the tone of the show, which can be a bit goofball.

I agree with the poster who said you have to watch it at night and in cold weather. I try and go through it twice a year; i usually watch one episode a night before bed; make it last a month.

Is there anyone on here that watches TP more than once or twice a year?
