If I had to guesstimate, since 1990 from the first run on tv thru the taped vhs copies thru the dvds I have watched them 8 or 9 times.

Just wondering how many times other Peaks Freaks have watched

PS I'm fixing to start another run thru from the pilot to FWWM - cold weather at night is perfect TP viewing environment.

I've nearly finished Season 1 in my second run through after watching FWWM for the second time. O How meagre my TP knowledge is compared to you.

I wasn't implying that at all, I was merely curious at the fanaticism out there because I'm sure some have seen it way more than me.  I am by no means an expert and like hearing what everyone thinks about this show I have been  obsessed with for 17 years.

I make it a semi-annual event. Every January and July I plan on watching the entire series then FWWM. So at least 30 a piece.

There isn't a rhyme or reason of when I watch it again other than the feeling just has to be right.

It's funny how TP is basically a circle and you could just keep watching TP then FWWM then TP over and over again as it goes in a circle.

It's like a fine wine that gets better with age and you notice new things each time you view it.

It's a different experience every time and it really feels like you are "going" to Twin Peaks.

I don't know the exact number, but somewhere around 25-30 times I think. I just finished the gold box for the first time today :)

I've seen TP about 5 times, and FWWM about 10 times. But there are still things I don't understand, eg, the conspiracy to burn down the saw mill! Although, there is a very good essay about that on this website.

But I still don't see how it can be advantageous to either Josie or Catherine to burn down their own saw mill, which is a business that is bringing in money every month. And what happens to all the people who worked there, eg, Pete Martell, Mr Pulaski? How does it affect Ronette for that matter? Poor old Ronette. Well, at least she seems to be making a recovery by episode 29.

Also, why does Josie sell the company to Ben, after the mill has burnt down? Surely the company is worth nothing if the main factory has burnt down?!?

Fred,  this is one of my favorite things about TP to discuss, partly because it's so involved and partly because it's largely so inexplicable.  Let's chat about it in this whole new thread I created  :)

 Neither was I

I was just saying I must have seen Tp so much less than nearly everyone on this board.

Sorry if my post came across the wrong way.

Since 2005 I have seen the series 4 times.

I've only seen FFWM two times since I think the movie is really bad.

Out of those that didn't watch TP when it first aired who watched it, knowing Leland was the killer and how did it affect your enjoyment do you think?

Aye that. I watched it when it was originally on, and then when I got the VHS tapes a few years later, I watched it multiple times a year for several years, and I lost count. Now I only watch it about twice a year, though the last couple of times I've found it hard to get through the whole series without seriously losing interest during the Little Nicky-Evelyn-Annie section. So technically those weren't complete viewings. :)

I don't think it makes me better than anyone that I've see the show so much. I figure it just shows what a complete lack of life I really have. :) Not to mention that on top of that, I have almost zero interest in analyzing the show. I'm happy with it for what it appears to be...definitely don't need any mysteries solved.

And even when it was originally on -you had to rewatch the episode several times that week trying to figure things out. And then within that rewind and watch your favorite moments.  I'm sure I've seen parts of Peaks like a thousand times.

FWWM, I saw in the theater, and got it on video, and then finally dvd -never really excited about it, but always relent and get it.  Whenever I put it on, I come away disappointed.  I've probably seen it in its entirety like six or seven times. I only really like the waitress at the beginning -"I don't take drugs."

The first season: about 7. Pilot probably 10

Second season: 2.01-2.07 about 4 or 5 times; 2.08-2.17 2 times; 2.18-2.20 4 or 5 times; 2.22 about 8. 2.21 one and a half, I cringed my way through about half of it recently. (Man it's terrible, I will never forgive Barry Pullman that episode, and the script is even worse!) I might have seen one episode more than they others. I might have seen episode 2.02 and 2.04 more than the others since I like them a lot.

FWWM: somewhere between 9 and 14, I can't remember. Several just this year, in fact!

Enhanced. I wasn't so distracted by "who killed Laura Palmer" and could enjoy the finer details, the dramatic irony etc.

I'm in the 30-odd then lost-count family, too.

I missed the opportunity to guess at the killer, which would have been fun, I suppose.  But I was so immediately obsessed with it from my first viewing of FWWM onwards that it could hardly have made any substantial difference in the end.

I'm guessing that other than watching the odd isolated episode, or occasionally a run of a few, I've been through the whole thing 3 or 4 times with groups of people, 7 or 8 times with one other person, and at least 10 times alone.  So maybe 20.

I'm right there with Amanda in the lack of life group (donuts and coffee are free!). Twice a year more or less I like to re-enter the world of Twin Peaks...

By the time S2 was coming to and end in 1991, I had seen every episode at least 5 times. Since then, I watch the whole thing plus FWWM once a year without fail. So roughly speaking, I've seen the TV series 21 times, and the movie around 15 times

Has he taken his eyes off it yet?

So many, and enjoying it every time even more!   TWIN PEAKS was aired first time here in Finland in 1991 and since then I've watched it many, many times.

TWIN PEAKS - FIRE WALK WITH ME : I saw it at the movies back in then and nowadays watch it from the dvd about twice a year.

Couldn't count on that many!
