Would it be possible to set up a sub-board in TP/FWWM for these topics? I went searching for early character threads and found they had been deleted or removed. This is a great shame because every so often I have a query about a character but don't feel it worth starting a thread on the subject. Sometimes I want to look up members thoughts on a character and I am frustrated that the comments have gone. Also, it is a neat way of organising random comments. I understand why mods are not keen on splitting up into too many sub-boards but Gordon's Episode and Character threads are really handy.

I know I could have gone straight to the mods with this but I wanted to guage how others feel about this idea. [>Jordan, feel free to relocate this topic to "Announcements" if it is better there.]

What do you guys think?

The only threads that should be missing are the ones that were lost when the old board took a dive at the end of December '05. We've kept all of the "Did you Notice" and Character discussion threads since we brought the new board up. As far as a sub-forum of them, well. I suppose we could always finally delete the Festival forum and replace it with that. My only concern is that it's going to go the same way that Twin Peaks Theater did. We put that in its own forum and people were hot on it and then...nothing. It never got revisited. We ended up losing that as well when the board crashed. You notice we never recreated it (along with three or four other forums that got rare usage).

I defer to the other mods on this one.

I keep in a Word document all the "Did You Notice" stuff. It would be a nice addition to Project Red Room as an article if Mods agree about it... I'd add other stuff that people posted in the threads, giving credit, etc. What do you think Amanda?

Yeah, actually it would be a great addition to Project Red Room. :) That's up to Jordan though. I don't have the ability to make changes to that part of the site. But PRR definitely needs some lovin'...it's still such a great, fun concept!

A rough skim suggests all the episode threads are here but most of the character threads are absent. Perhaps they were started before the first board crashed. I could find only 6-10 character threads (Bobby, Denise, Judge Sternwood)....

Threads that no one's posted on in a while have a tendency of disappearing... I've gone back to look for several threads I remembered from a few months ago and they're gone. I don't know why this happens if the mods aren't deleting them; but I definitely remember a ton of character threads after the crash that aren't here now.

Ah, Project Red Room. The memories, Jordan and I plugging away on our separate articles. Brainstorming, compromising and editing. That was a lot of fun and oh my, such a long time ago. Geoff throwing in his juicy Packard Mill conspiracy article. I wouldn't going back to visit that again.

 Good idea.

Beauty is momentary in the mind -
The fitful tracing of a portal;
But in the flesh it is immortal.
The body dies; the body's beauty lives.
So evenings die, in their green going,
A wave, interminably flowing.
So gardens die, their meek breath scenting
the cowl of winter, done repenting.
So maidens die, to the auroral
Celebration of a maiden's choral.
Susanna's music touched the bawdy strings
Of those white elders; but, escaping,
Left only Death's ironic scraping.
Now in its immortality, it plays
On the clear viol of her memory,
And makes a constant sacrement of praise.

Oh we're definitely deleting old threads to just keep things clean, but we delete the crap threads (Sexiest TP character) and the short, one-off threads (people asking about release dates, talking about TP actors on upcoming shows, etc). We are very selective about what's kept and what's deleted. So if there ARE some of these threads missing, they were most likely deleted completely by accident. Which sucks. But Gordon's got game, yes he does. :D So at least they're not lost forever. :)

Jordan is in the proceess of redesigning the site and I will point him to this thread as well, however, he did write a thread in the Board Suggestions forum in September.

If you have any other suggestions (as well as this one), please put them in that thread.

This thread right here, folks: http://www.2000revue.com/community/topic.cfm?topicid=3177

It's in a subforum of the Announcements section, which for some reason wasn't displaying that a new topic had been added.

Anyway. Now you know. And knowing is half the battle!

About Project: Red Room. There's some pretty nice stuff there but is something that used to be there now missing some how? As I read the articles there I got the feeling the writers refer to these other articles that I don't seem to find any where. I'm very new to this board so can someone who has sticked around longer time shed any light on this? Has there been more stuff in the Project: Red Room or am I just getting something wrong? I asked someone about this before but didn't really get the answer that time.

Jordan and I went into Red Room full steam ahead and we busted out several articles, the one's about Cooper's Dream, The one about the ring and also The Physics of the Lodge and one other I am drawing a blank on right now. And we started on character sketches that got off the ground and then dropped off. We just got busy with other things, job, family and writing and other stuff. Other members have contributed stuff during the long interim. That's why there are links between articles that appear open ended. Hope this was of help.

Things in my life were too what made me stop posting the character threads... Job, love issues, etc. They can and should be resurrected...

For example, in one of the Project: Red Room articles there's a note like this:

(For more information regarding this chant, please check out the Chant Theory Article).

But in the article list there's no such thing as 'Chant Theory Article'. So, I'm assuming some articles were planned but never made it to Project: Red Room?

Yeah, that's pretty much the case. I remember when these guys were all planning their Red Rood articles. As you can see by the ones that are available on the site, they really wanted to dig in and explore topics, ideas, theories...so they spent a lot of quality time crafting each article they wrote. I know there were several that were "in process" when life kind of stole people away.  It would be interesting to get some of these things completed or get some new articles up there, though. It really is a great fun concept and nice to sift through to see what changes or challenges your perceptions.

Yeah, I find it entertaining to read other peoples theories and make ones up myself every now and then. I don't take it too seriously and not try to come up with the "right" explanations and some how solve things up for good. I think it's just great fun. It would be great if folks here found some time in their lives to complete their unfinished articles and/or add new ones.

I think Twin Peaks -both the series and the film- leaves the mystery much more open than some Lynch films like Lost Highway, Mulholland Dr. and even INLAND EMPIRE, and that's one of the reasons I like TP so much.

Now, that I am working nights and have more time to devote to my work, I might be able to find a day or two a week where I can start working on some stuff. Especially, with the new box set coming out, which we will all be watching once we receieve it, I can refresh my overview of Peaks and certain aspects that lend themselves to theories. One article in particular I started but never finished (and I doubt I even have it anymore) was about The Tremonds.

That's cool smokey... Any stuff you write about TP interest me, keep those articles coming! I will start to fix my "Did You Notice" document, digging old threads, adding info from other posters, etc. so it's ready to be added to PRR at any time... And I'm working in some ideas for a fresh new series of weekly threads...

I need more free time!
