I've been wondering if anyone could recommend any royalty free music that has a Twin Peaks feel to it. The reason is that YouTube removes copyrighted Twin Peaks music from videos sometimes.

For anyone who thought that Twin Peaks needed a rap-remix: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3IZS2QddAY&feature=player_embedded It's pretty damn good actually...

Hey there! My brother formed a death/doom metal band - Swallow The Sun- about 10 years ago. The band has been heavily influenced by TP/Lynch and it shows in some of the lyrics and the whole feeling of songs. They have even used TP theme as intro/outro on live shows :) The band is not for everyone, with mostly growling vocals and quite long songs, but there is beauty in the beast if you dare to listen. I love their music! You can check them out in: www.swallowthesun.net A song Falling World: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MpFRGu7GNAo Here´s lyrics for a song These Woods Breathe Evil (from album New Moon, 2009) These Woods Breathe Evil
"I grasp the soil from the tomb and cover my face This face of a murderer"
Serpents betrayed me They crawled in my head and betrayed me Old woods, they misled me Cut my face and misled me
The owls are not what they seem They made me do it Am I a ghost amongst them? But this blood is real that stains my hands
Tortured by these voices, like flies around me They chased me here and you invited me in...
These woods breathe evil! Rust on the ground and the arches of fire! These woods breathe evil! Here in the circle of eerie winds! Towards the black heart of magnetic north
Black lodge and red rooms of insanity Here I reached the point of no return With my hands around you they chased me here To this hotel of ghosts And they showed me this room, this room with a view And you invited me in...
These woods... They led me back here, to your buried body...

I just came upon this David Bowie instrumental the other day called "Crystal Japan." I believe it's a Low era recording, so there's no way it could have been inspired by Twin Peaks, but it HUGELY evokes the series...at least to me, anyway. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xm2ciX0_UP8 (sorry, having some issues hotlinking the URL)

Stream (w/lyrics) the song, "The Ballad of Rusty Tomaski" The song is by Hammerlord and is about Windom Earl's heavy metal victim. Here is some video someone made for the song using images from the show.
Whoa, hey man is this for like, the lilac parade or what?

Check out The Colorblind James Experience's A Different Bob (on YouTube). I'd be quite surprised if you don't find it delightfully TP influenced!!!

I can't believe no one has mentioned this yet! You Say Party! We Say Die!-"Laura Palmer's Prom:" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KeA6B7pCPU References Badalamenti's score, espescially the theme song. Also there are a few things on Les Savy Fav's album Go Forth that seem to take from the show, among them lyrical allusions to "a chick with an eyepatch," "a rare orchid dealer," and one track climaxing in the repetition of the line "the owls will get you!" There are also some synthesizer tones on there somewhat reminiscent of those used on the score. I can probably think of more if I listen to the record again.

there's a song by doseone on the album 'ha' which samples the "i am the arm" dialogue by the MFAP in FWWM. it's called 'the universe in 6 jumps' but i have no idea what the lyrics are about. he may well be hijacking it for his own concepts as there's a lot of stuff about arms and losing them in one of his other projects, subtle. (and that's good use of sampling i reckon). would highly recommend the album to anyone interested in hearing what "ambient rap" sounds like (that's my best trite description)
sadly i can't find a youtube link to it though : (

I feel like this Band of Horses song, "Infinite Arms," has something kind of Peaks-y going on. That rising melody at the chorus has a little bit of "Falling" to it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Olr4iAzWoj8
