I find Norma to be very cliched. Can't marry the man she loves as he married someone on a fling; doesn't love her criminal husband; has issues with her mum. YAWN Mine would be 1. Audrey 2. Albert 3. Leland 4. Ben Horne 5. Maddy

True, but I always thought she just had something. I don't know. Sometimes, in a world full of freaks, it's the ordinary, boring character that stands out.

Norma had the problem of being underwritten from time to time, but her relationship with Ed is, to me, the most convincing and watchable actual (ie. consummated) relationship in the series... Other than Pinkle and Margaret, obvs.

I agree. Their scene in episode 5 at the Gas Farm rings very true, I think. "Don't call me. I mean, not for a while, okay?" "Okay." "I love you, Ed". I think Peggy Lipton nailed that scene. Simple but heartbreaking.

"Caash, prease."
