We topped out at 40 today--amazing what 12 degrees will do. Supposed to be 40's all week with rain/snow--so yeah, typical spring for this area.

As we enter Autumn in Perth, this will be another week of fine, sunny days in the 70s-80s. My kind of weather although many of the locals (I'm not originally a Perth bloke) complain that it's freezing. They need to travel a bit more...

Winter storm watches and warnings a plenty! Supposed to get up to 8 inches of $*#*&$*(#@&! snow. I at least hope it will be wet packing snow so I can make one last snowman before the season is FINALLY over, for it is supposed to rain at the end of the week with high's in the 50's. Which way do we go, George?!

Oh you poor snowed in babies! It's never been known to snow in May though, has it??? I'll be in Michigan in late May and if the global warming produces a late spring snowfall, it'll be really exciting for me! (selfish) ...and, here in SoCal? Looks like another perfect day. I luv LA. Do doo doo doo...

Just rub it in, Susan... I like your essay. Hey, Rocky is NOT kidding! It's worse where she is, but it's going to snow here, too, and then rain all week. I remember a few years back when we had an actual blizzard on my birthday! And I don't do snow men!

We got our month's quota of rain in 1 day yesterday... ...that's how I like it - dump the rain in a day or 2 to fill the dams and keep the farmers happy...then get back to the sunny weather you can actually get out in and enjoy.

It has been unseasonally warm and sunny here in Swansea, Wales, for a few weeks now. So much so that my usually pasty skin has a vague tan. Its been lovely though, been sitting on the beach, in the park and having BBQ's. Nice!

Uh, something strange is happening here. It's like... wet. It's coming from the sky. When you walk outside it makes your hair get all wet like you're in the shower. The streets have little pools of water gathering. I cannot understand what is going on today. The sun is not shining either. Very strange.

It's been fine, fine, fine. Just spoke to a girl from work though, who got married a week or so ago. She was married on the day it decided to randomly dump 1 month's worth of rain in 24 hours. She wasn't that amused, but apparently it's good luck if it rains on your wedding? Sounds like clutching at straws for optimism to me, but whatever. At least it would've been a memorable day for all concerned.

Yes ironic. Much like the Chinese belief that it's good luck if a bird craps on you. Seems to me just a way to make polite conversation with someone when they've just been embarassed by being dumped on. Like the "bless you" when someone has just sprayed out a big sneeze.

Now we're in the middle of tornados, large hail, and LOTS of rain and wind. Is it happening in your neighborhood?

Aw for crying out loud . Enough with this very inclement weather across these United States ! Some financing paperwork and other crap is slowing down a house sale and my directly linked car trip departure from NY to CA. Maybe the silver lining is this postponement of the trip may insure some fair weather by mid instead of early May ? Nice to see gas reaching towards record levels as a kicker. Geez. I did my Kentucky Derby Cinco de Mayo at the local Tavern - my pick came is second and I had the horse to win... only. Geez. I am past ready for the next chapter in my life and want no more events postponing that kick off. Goodbye to home ownership- just pay rent every month and if anything happens -it's not my problem. Physical fitness program, the outdoors, hanging with a mixture of old and new friends. Ordering a knockoff of the space age temperpedic " sleeping system". The new gal my friends are setting me up with. Let's get the show on the road . That's the 'weather' my way.

It's been very pleasant lately---upper 60's, almost hitting 70 for most of the week. Nice and sunny--little breeze. We realy need some rain, even though things are really greening up. We took a drive through a wooded conservation park and saw this guy trying to get across the road--even though he is a snapper, Eric picked him up from wayyy behind his back legs so he couldn't bite and got him to the water across the road. He even smiled for the camera. :D
We did have one rain storm at the end of last week and I took a pic of the crazy clouds...

Incredible photos, Rocky! Since there's no way of telling the size, when I first saw the tortoise I figured him to be about 3 feet long. I can just imagine you talking to him before you snapped the shot..."Come on, smile pretty...smile for Rocky...that's right..." Fabulous shot! Love the moody stormy sky too. I'm a sucker for that kind of sky though we rarely see them. Here in SoCal, it's been HOT. Yesterday it was still 95 degrees at 6:00 in the evening. Same expected today. Hot. Yech. It's too hot to walk Lola except in the early morning or as the sun is setting. And it will be 20 degrees hotter as the summer comes. Raymond, that was the horse David picked in the Derby also -- Curlin, right? Susan

I'd say he was at least 2 feet long--he was a big sucker! There was a baby snapper down the road a ways, too--got a pic of him, but it turned out all blurry. It's supposed to be 70's and sunny all week. Will try and snap some pix later--it is looking rather gorgeous out right now. Our white lilacs have just bloomed. Ah, what the heck--here's the baby snapper. Isn't he a cutie?

First the weather is very nice here -like blue skies, maybe 69 high down to 50 by dawn. should warm up a tad tomorrow. That makes my extra stay here more enjoyable. ( 'a tad'.. funny,I wouldn't use that term in speech) Now David, if he had Curlin came in third. My Hard Spun lead the field and tired in the stretch. Our second and third placers would have paid off nicely to win. But...that didn't happen.

Oh, you're right, Raymond. I always get those things confused. It's #1=win, #2=place and #3=show. Okay, he didn't bet anyway except with my mom, who picked Dominican so no $$$ were exchanged. I was just glad that all the horses survived the race with four legs intact. Susan
