I'm from England, UK too actually. Student in Oxford but I'm actually from Reading (I suppose only fellow Brits would know where that is!)

Nice to hear that Ditte! If it wasn't for the rock festival Reading would probably have no exposure at all.. besides imprisoning Oscar Wilde, Stacey Keach and having a local spit at Queen Victoria....

well, we sure are a bunch! At first I thought of a smaller gettogether too (like just drinking lots of coffee and wathing the series, fwwm and so on), but maybe we're too many for just a small gettogether? It looks like we would need a bigger place to be? i don't know...

I´ve always thought that a fest in Norway or Iceland would be really cool and the most obvious place if we ever were to do such a thing.

You're right! Norway definitely have got the mountains, i went there for the first time two years ago, i had no idea it was soooo beatuiful in summer! I study scandinavian languages (in hope to make it available to teach in highschool) and this summer i'm doing four weeks in Reykjavík (Iceland)...and i just cannot wait!  I've always found Iceland the most twinpeakish country ever! *dreamy*

hrm...exept the trees though...

I also think Norway is a good option for many reasons. One of them is that it is a particular place which seems to be quite"Lynch"one..Another reason is that it belongs to Schengen-community which makes the enterance easier for the fans who do not belong to European Community and need visa to enter to such countries as UK  for example which is quite expensive to pay then.

I'm actually surpsised at how many Scandinavians are here now!

I remember when Maddy and Fav tried to organise something in London, it seemed obvious it had to be somewhere there because a big majority of European members were British. Probably they are still a majority but... looks like Scandinavia is right after them.

I remember also there used to be a Czech member once (or perhaps he was just Czech in origin but lived in the States). Don't remember his name but I remember some of his posts, very creative and of high intellectual quality (and very long ;-))

well, this thread died pretty fast. I guess noone has the time or strength to organize a european meeting this summer.

anyhow, i just wondered if there are any icelanders around, since i'm going to Reykjavík this summer to study icelandic literature (and the language of course!)???? It would be fun to have someone i could talk to, i really need to practice my icelandic, it's not so good - and there's no better way learning a language then discuss things u like!

Nah, your'e thinking of Nepal

I'm from Sweden, and live in a quite small city called Uddevalla. A European TP-fest sound's great. Norway is a kick-ass-idea, cause it's not very far from were I live...

hehe, i've never heard that one before (that we talk faster). Depends on what you mean by higher...? We have a different intonation (i have no clue if it is the right word in english!) in our languages than american english - especially in norwiegan and swedish. And the icelander always has emphasis on the first syllable, which sounds really happy (as do norwiegan in our ears).

but if you mean that we talk really loud, i don't know...i'm into theatre so i kinda speak loud unaware....well, here i'am discussing languages again, can't help it - i live it!

yeah, Nowway would be great. Maybe we could start it smaller, Joakim!? With a gettogether in Sweden. I live kinda close to you (30 km north of Gothenburg), nearby Kungälv....maybe we could get some westcost-fans together?

lilla_laura_palmer - When he asked if we talk 4% faster and higher in Europe, I think he was making a joke about the PAL/NTSC, hence my answer
