...and a real all around mystery.  Not much has been spoken about here in the US press but that's probably because there don't appear to be any Americans involved.  It is a fascinating tale from the outset.  What was the Hamas leader doing in Dubai as the above article asks?  Who were the assassins?  How was the victim's door locked with a chain behind him?  If you check out the YouTube videos of surveillance cameras from the checking in at the hotel through the departure of the team at the airport, bound for several different destinations, you get a real glimpse into a clandestine undercover operation that took some planning.

Maybe I'm alone in savoring this.

BBC, that unbiased reporting agency, is pretty sure it was Mossad.   Dubai is also 99.9% certain.  But Syria arrested a Palestinian for the same charges according to the Guardian .

Spy versus spy.  Strangest of bedfellows.  And will the truth ever be revealed?  It's like... Chinatown.

" Feel Good Story of the year..."  That thread title made me laugh.

Here is just a followup article on the son of the Hamas founder.

New revitalized clashes in Jerusalem. Not so feel good.

Do the Obama team's warnings and confrontation with Isreal have any connection with the situation there?

It does show, again, the willingness to throw longstanding close allies under the bus.  Obama's promise to 'transform' the U S is in full swing both at home and abroad.

The next day : Not worth a thread or a new post, but here are a couple feel bad Obama moves.

1) He is pushing for tariffs against China-our largest banker. A replay of Hawly-Smoot  as in the Great depression. Tariffs and trade wars are IMO a huge mistake anytime-especially now.

2) Increase the capital gains tax from 15 % to 25%. That is to help pay for Obamacare. Capital tax increases in a weak economy? Just plain contraindicated.

Forget it, Jake; it's Chinatown...
