Hey, cool.  I didn't buy the old one, so this should be perfect.

I love the amazon.com Search Inside feature.  This is the first xmas in a while I haven't had a new Lynch book to read, and I just read the revision for free!  The new pics are fabulous, and he discussses meditation (comparing it to sex and a Rolls Royce) and the unified field.  The MD chapter is AWESOME! Whoever doesn't have this book needs to buy it, it really is the best.  Second, I think, is Nochimson's book (David Lynch Wild at Heart in Hollywood) for insight or David Hughes (The Complete Lynch) for facts.

didn't this come out like a year ago? although, my understanding of time has been pretty abstract lately, but still... well, it doesn't matter, new or year old... yes, I have this, love it, very helpful. David often says that he doesn't want to explain his movie, but he does in this. He just doesn't explain every single detail "this headless chicken dancing in the background means that he is love with his mother" and/or "he is shouting because he is angry", he gives kind of an insight to the way he makes his films and the thought behind them.

In France, this new edition (with the Straight Story and MD chapters) came out on Oct. 2004 !

So I'm really surprised to read those posts about the English/American edition... If the translated French edition has been available for more than a year, I'd thought that the original edition was available since at least the same date...

Anyway this book is still a must-have. Even if Lynch answers aren't always interesting, the pictures and documents contained in the book are priceless.

I show that the revised edition has been out for a long while in the US. Maybe OSF just found out about it?

Well, parrrrrrrdonez MOI!!! I only just saw the new edition last month (at Cinema Books). I'll check the copyright, but pretty sure it's 2005. It's the first I'd heard of it, but then, I'm in the far flung hinterlands of Seattle.

That's still good news, though.  I love my old copy (even if it is getting a little bit ragged around the edges) but I would love a bit more...  I'ld sure love a supplement!

I am likely to miss the main event

The edition I checked reads copyright 2005, original edition 1997. Does anyone actually HAVE an English language version from before 2005?

Yeah, actually the one I have is the original. I haven't bothered to buy the updated version yet just 'cause it hasn't been a priority for me.
