I'm trying to work out good groupings of episodes, say if people were to get together once a week to watch them. I'm aiming for 3 hours/episodes per session, adjusted as necessary.

- - - - - - -

Pilot/1
Ends with Jacoby (crying? laughing? I must return next week to find out!) with his coconut.

2/3/4
From baguettes to the domino drawing.

5/6/7
From the Icelandic Invasion to Coop getting plugged three times.

8/9/10
From the long opening with the Giant to "This is the Secret Diary of Laura Palmer" in Harold Smith's hothouse.

11/12/13
From Leland's stunning confession scene to Mike's arrival and interrogation -- "The Great Northern Hotel!"

14/15/16
From the Leland-loves-Maddy episode to the end of Leland and the escape of BOB.

17/18/19/20
Four episodes, from the wake and Roger Hardy to the shootout at Dead Dog Farm.

21/22/23
From the discovery of the Vagrant to Josie-in-a-knob (as opposed to the other way around...)

24/25/26/27
Four episodes, from Harry's Noir Bender to BOB's arm appearing in Glastonbury Grove.

28/29
The final two episodes followed (either immediately or next week, according to vote) by Fire Walk With Me.

- - - - - - -

That adds up to a once-a-week commitment for two months or so. Sound reasonable?

I think that's an excellent set of groupings there, Jaime. You have given me a little nudge. I have been thinking about watching Twin Peaks for a while now, but keep holding off in case they actually announce they are gonna release the second season on DVD. Well the heck with it, I think this might be the longest I have gone without watching Twin Peaks. I think I watched it once when John and I lived here early on so that means it's been well over a year. Anyway, that is pretty much how I have grouped it when I have shared it with others. I'll often try to fir in episode 2 in the first night of I can because it really dives you into the weirder aspects of the show (plus, it's a great Lynch episode) and the dream sequence really weirds people out.

Smoke, you mean EP. 2 excluding the Pilot, right?

I'd move episode 14 up a week.  Episodes 14 and 16 in one night may be a little too much of a good thing.

11/12/13/14 might work nicely, having the Leland reveal at the end of the evening. It's 15/16/17 I'm not crazy about; 17 to me is a weak episode to end on, although it does have the Major disappearing on his fishing trip with Cooper...  It does separate 14 and 16, though, which would be a pretty heavy evening.

And I also wanted to end the first night with episode 2, but it threw off the entire rest of the season schedule, so I decided to compromise -- even though Coop waking up from his crazy dream with his hair sticking straight up like an antenna would be a great way to end a session.

Originally I was considering four-hour/episode sessions, but it seemed a little much to demand of the civilian population...

I think that 15/16 is strong enough to stand as a two episode night.  I agree, ending the evening on 17 would be a letdown.

Yeah, I would put 14 as the last episode of the night. When I watch that episode, I want to go ahead and continue to 16, so forcing people to wait a week is Twin Peaks foreplay.

It's true, 15 and 16 could stand on their own. And after three weeks of 3 episode nights, a little 4/2/4 action might be just what the doctor ordered.

This is all good advice so far...
