Anybody else excited about the upcoming, possibly last issue of WIP?

Craig Miller emailed me with the following details:

"We're still a couple weeks away from finishing, so it probably won't ship until the last week of December.  The wait should be worth it.  We already have interviews with David Lynch, Mark Frost, and Bob Engels, and are trying hard to get Angelo Badalamenti, Mary Sweeney, Gregg Feinberg, and Ron Garcia.  Plus whoever else we can round up in the next week or so.  We're also trying to talk Lee Sandlin into writing a new essay.  If you've read his columns in Spectrum, you know how much fun he can be.  And a couple of other things are supposed to come in during the next week.

Keep your fingers crossed that it will all come together!"

Sounds like a good one!

Yeah, I'm jazzed about this one! But then, I'm one of the loyal WIPers (ooh, that sounds a tad naughty). I'm off to my local shop NOW to see if it's out yet!!!

There's also a review of the 2005 fest in this one as well. From what I can tell, it's supposed to be a real slammin' issue.  I look forward to its arrival.

I loved that magazine.  Haven't seen it in years.  Anybody know where I could order this recent copy?

Thank you very much.

Thanks, I did go there, and wrote them an e-mail to let me know when it will be available.  Got a reply about an hour later.  Craig Miller said it shipped from the printer today and expected to have copies in his hands by the end of the week.  This is exciting!  Thanks jahaase!

Oh goody, another Christmas present!

jahaase, how quickly do you think we'll have it? I know you and I both have first-class shipping...two weeks maybe? I'm thinking of leaving my mailman a note asking him to not bend the damn thing this time 'round. Last two issues he managed to roll up like a newspaper. WTF? Seriously, who does that?

Can't wait for this puppy to arrive. But now I'm curious as to how they will be working the magazine and its subscriptions...

If it's more than two weeks, I may wear out the hinge on my new extra-wide mailbox!

Don't Craig and John stamp "DO NOT BEND" all over your mailing envelope?

Yeah, they do. But I think my mailman is an idiot. Wait. I know my mailman is an idiot. So my WIP gets bent on a fairly regular basis, even though the box is wide enough for a magazine to just sit in there. He never bends my other magazines. I think he's evil or something...

Since my new mailbox was a necessity of our recent move, I have a different mail delivery person. Since it's a woman I'm not so sure mailman is the PC way to refer to her. Anyway, I think I may go in and speak with her and/or the Postmaster Tuesday (since they're closed Monday for the holiday).

Really? It shows up fine on my computer, I wonder if I linked it incorrectly or something?

Jahasse, your first post shows the magazine, but then when you scroll down, all we see is the "white album" version.  Did I tell you I ordered it?  Can't wait.

My copy arrived yesterday and I'm only a smidge of the way through it. It's thick with articles...lovely!

I got my copy of Wrapped in Plastic today!  I'm so excited.  I haven't read all of it yet, but some of our Gazetteers are famous, especially Susan and her family!  And someone named Amanda wrote a story about the festival, so I'm assuming it's our mod!  And, jahaase, it did say it might be the very last issue.  I must have subscribed in the beginning, because I have all the issues with the timelines, but my warped memory thought it came out when the show was on.  Must be old age...

Gotta go read!  I am EXCITED!!!!

Is Wrapped in Plastic done for good or any news on a new issue?

Also, are they going to make some Best of Wrapped in Plastic volumes like I heard
