First post, this is a cool site!

In the scene where Wyndham Earl shoots Maj. Briggs with sodium penethol or something like that, Briggs says something backwards.   A long time ago a friend of mine and I taped that then played it backwards.   Sounds like he said '5 men come in grey suits'.    On the map of the Black Lodge, in the top corner it almost looks like a drawing of 4 or 5 men coming down.

For 20 years this has bothered me!    If it's already been discussed, forgive me.   Any thoughts/theories?

Not twenty years straight.    There were probably a few months in the early 2000's when I'd say it wasn't bothering me.  

I'll admit I just bought the complete season 2 DVD's for next to nothing, and it's kind of rekindled an old obsession.  

The '5 men' backwards message and the graphic on the map, I remember thinking there would be a big payoff on that at the end that my friend and I would have called, but it was not to be.    I thought for a while the grey suits were FBI agents (Cooper, Gordon, Chet Desmond, Keifer Sutherland's character, and David Bowie's?).    

Maybe it was simply an inside joke, or something planted for later use on the show which never was used or needed.

If anyone's interested,  maybe I'll post an mp3 of the forwards and backwards.

the doors to the black lodge had more to do with Planetary alignements and ordinary townfolk(the peasents) could only access this holiest of places if they were at a certain place at s certain time when certain planetary alignments created a door or 'opening' for them to slip through into it....

you've gotten a bit sidetracked with thus '5 men walking' stuff,me thinks...

they refer to it on there more simply as 'thin spots'

Welcome to the Gazette chetcadenza... But I'm afraid your time here will be short since the board closes definitely tomorrow... I'm not sure if you already know that... You sound like a damn good Peaker and it makes me even more sad to see this whole thing end...

A long time ago we found out that what Briggs says is the line "That gum you like is going to..." with each word backwards: "Taht mug ouy ekil...". Check it out and you'll see that's what he says...
