i discovered david lynch around two months ago.  saw 2 of his films before fwwm.  i watched fwwm and then after having been bit by the bug i watched the series twice.  the info on this site has helped me so very much to understand the concept of the story and all of its glory.  if the site is shutting down i beg that you send your articles on the black lodge, cooper dream 1 and 2, packard mill, ect some where else so other can read about all of the intraticate details of this story.  i can say that the story of twin peaks and fwwm has helped me focus on my life and strive to be a better person.  my life has been ruled by heroin (my bob) a couple years, and have been on methadone for about 7 months.  the story has made me feel like my quest to take my life back from heroin is noble, and that my "bob" can be defeated.

 sorry to ramble but i wanted you to know your analysis of the twin peaks series and movie has touched me, and made me want to be a better person.  i would hate for all this info to be lost it would be tragic

from the time i was 15 i started to use stuff like oxycodone (oxycontin)and other strong opiates.  my first run in with the needle was when i was 16.  i overdosed twice and was committed to a mental institute for rehab, my second time.  stayed clean for about 4 years until i moved home from college and found all the old friends were using opiates.  i could not resist and started to use.  anyway the only way i have ever been able to portray what being addicted to heroin is like to the opiate naive is by describing is like you are dying of thirst.  you know exactly how to make yourself feel better, but now imagine you in the desert and a bottle of water costs 50 dollars a piece.  i have seen beautiful young girls die from this, and ive seen them use their bodies, like laura did, to get their fix.  though cocaine is nothing anywhere close to how your brain becomes wired to opiates and heroin, i thought the laura refrance was good.

 anyway rebel your understanding of how addiction, espicially opiate addiction controls the brain and people's lives is not complete.  once an addict uses an opiate it makes it so your brain cant produce endorphins alone, throw in the physical and mental withdrawal, simply knowing "you dont need that shite" is not enough.  i thought of suicide every second of every day, and then i would shoot up a hit and for a few hour i would feel like a rockstar, then crash and repeat.  also im not a gutter hobo from the inner city, im from wisconsin and from a good family, like the majority of the addicts like me.

i am now on methadone and have been clean for about 5 months.  for about 3 months while on methadone i would do heroin here and there and then made my mind up im done.  anyway the real point of all of this is the story of cooper and the black lodge and everything twin peaks has effected me very positively.  idk why but i have felt very noble in keeping clean and striving to be as fair and kind in my life and work.

the articles on this site are very important i think and should be sent somewhere if the site is to be shut down.  they have really helped me and i think the loss would be disgusting.

well anyway... I don't go on about it... (I keep it to myself) but that's exactly what I'm like with the fet... (I'm starting to feel a bit dry in my soul)

as the weeks roll on I just get worse and worse and worse and in the end u just think... f**k it,just go and bloody get some... (fall off the horse again) its summat I've never been able to fully get away from... I'm alright for a few months but then it starts coming back at you...

like you, that's what I get like... a cactus I'm the desert dying of thirst or something...

Ill still be doing it (off and on) when I'm 70,I think...

maybe if I met a real nice girl(woman) maybe that would make the difference... I don't know...

I just quietly deal with it in my own way...

Get some help and walk away from it. It's a losers game. drugs.       that's all I gotta say about this subject.

im not trying to start an argument about the merits of drug use.  i can assure you i am not making an excuse for drugs.  i am not the guy at the NA meeting going on about how his "disease" made him do all those horrible things.  i made the analogy of being addicted to heroin is like needing water because its the only thing i can think of that a person who has never been addicted to heroin could wrap their head around.

also as i have said ive been clean for a while and have being making many positive changes in my life and the reason i brought the whole addiction aspect up is because as i said much of the analysis of the struggle between cooper and the black lodge on this site spoke to me and i think its very important not to let any of it go to waste.
