One slightly strange thing I've read a few times is that Twin Peaks has a timeless quality. I agree with that but then such posts/articles go on to use lack of mobile phones or internet in Twin Peaks as an example of this. They make it sound like Lynch & Co deliberately decided not to give the characters cellphones or laptops with wireless access, etc. I'm from the UK and didn't get a cellphone until about 1996/97. I probably started using the internet at around the same time. I'm not the most technologically switched on person around but I'm not a technophobe either. So to me it seems totally normal that cellphone use and internet access weren't reflected in TP as, while these technologies may have been available, they certainly weren't mainstream by then. Bit of a random post but just one thing that bothered me!

I can think of several scenes in Twin Peaks that involve cell phones. There are a few computers as well.

Good spots! Thanks! So there's even less credence to the 'Twin Peaks is in a timewarp' idea, at least from the point of view of technology.
