Just read "Catching the big fish" and found it inspiring. Love DL's view on life.

Anyone practising Transcedental Meditation?

I meditate and practise mindfulness as often as i can, but nothing to do with TM to be honest. I find it all a bit "cultish", but maybe that's just me. Also, paying thousands of pounds for a "mantra"? Something doesn't seem right with it all.

The audiobook is a treat, DL reads himself.

I meditated for TWO STINKING HOURS the other day! Finally I got a ten second burst of pleasure then nothing. The silence and darkness are fine though. It only works when you are actually meditating. Soon as you come out it is back to misery. May as well just have a power nap.

Let's face it, if his films don't tell us the deepest mysteries of existence then that will be a disappointment.

I view them from that position.

Your not meant to `get it` though, are you...

that`s the whole point to it...

Wouldn't it be awful, if he knew the answers, knew about our hidden past, and littered his films with those subliminal answers...simply to sell better films. Imagine if all the best film makers did this, with no intention of us ever knowing why we find their films so compelling.

No intention of letting us ever know about who we really are.

I read it the second time now. I wonder why Eraserhead is his most spiritual movie? But at the same time I don´t wanna know it. I love the parts how he chooses his actors and that he don´t want to make them fear their work on set. I admire Lynch even more after reading the book. It would be a lot of fun hanging arround with him and talk about life in general.

I got the audiobook too.  Best hour and 45 minutes of "pure bliss"

Diane... 10:00 a.m. at the Great Northern. I've just been in a hotel room with the One-armed Man... or what's left of him. In another time, another culture, this man would have been a seer, a shaman priest... possibly a leader. In our world, he's a shoe peddler, and lives in the shadows.
