I just don't get it. I read this entire post on the Twin Peaks Gazette board and MY GOD did it make no sense at all. What was going on? Spending so much time watching something without actually paying enough attention to understand it, then making the effort to visit a message board just to announce your dissatisfaction. Nothing made sense, and then at the end, I was left thinking "What was the point in all that?" Somebody explain this to me!

If you really didn't like what you saw, I don't see why you'd want any of it explained to you. And if you do genuinely want some explanations, I'd suggest reading posts and articles and such instead of just exclaiming to fans of the show that it made no sense. What's all that fuss about?

I hated Lost, I really loathed the series, and I ended up not watching the entire thing...however, afterwards I didn't sign up to a Lost fan forum and start shouting about it.

As said, there are a whole host of threads to be explored if you really want to find out why people like it , and theories on what happens and why.

Plus, surely it's a grade school thing to learn that just because something isn't explained or revealed 'in the end' isn't a relfection of its quality at all.

Even if you dislike the show. Do you feel that "dwarves and boring characters" sums up the entire series?

I haven't explained why I like it because it is detailed by many others elsewhere, and from your point of view I reckon you wouldn't accept any answers because you are on the attack, and closing yourself off from the point of view of others.

We are not making mere assumptions with 'explaining things', there are innumerable examples in media and art where much is implied and not S-P-E-L-L-E-D O-U-T for the viewers/readers, it is taken as a given in art/literature/television/film, and if you sincerely believe that things such as media and art require everything to be immeidately obvious, then you are missing out on a hell of a lot of life

EDIT, And can you please explain to us what spurred you on to sign up to a fan forum of a show that you obviously hate? Is it merely to try and troll or are you genuinely looking for insight? Maybe there is a flash of something that may appeal to you, thats why you wanted to learn more? Because it is very strange to investigate a show that holds zero appeal.

Seriously though, I don't think any of us explaining why we love it is going to make you like it any more than you quite clearly do not.  If you thought the characters were so boring, why stick it out?  For two whole seasons.  That's hours and hours of unenjoyment! Well, not to me, I haven't watched a marathon in a long time. ;) I'd make pie and hunker down.  You don't like the show, that's fine -- but why sign into a fan site if you have no interest in the show?

PS. but I should have gotten it from that sentence where you used "therefore" and "irrelevant" that something was wrong, you got way too sophisticated for a troll there ;-)
