Universal will be releasing a special edition of Wild At Heart in Australia very soon, here's hoping it is the R1 MGM SE.

More specs when they arrive.

I bought the region 1 version from Amazon last year and it's one of my favourite dvds, the extras are great, fantastic to listen to David talk about the new transfer.  It'll be interesting to see the region 4 version, usually we get poor releases however Lost Highway was good, we didn't seem to lose any of the extras in the crossover.

Region 4 has been lucky recently thanks to MK2, and now we have the Wild at Heart port which looks fantastic. I saw it at JB HiFi last weekend and almost bought it for the packaging, and then I told myself that the DVD is exactly the same as the region 1 I bought!

I wonder if the Eraserhead 2000 and short films that are on Amazon will make their way to Oz. I bought them through Lynch's website but it would be great for Eraserhead to be more accessible to Aussie fans.

I never ordered the R1 special edition, so this R4 version is a must buy for me!

Eraserhead was released on DVD in 2001, in 1.33:1, I believe it is now out of print. I've already got the R1 and Short Films DVD from Amazon, so I'm not really anticipating a re-release in R4. The Straight Story is the only Lynch film that hasn't been released in R4 yet, but R4 now have a few Lynch films in various editions (Blue Velvet, Wild At Heart, Lost Highway, there are at least 5 versions of Dune!).

Now if an independent distributer will just release Industrial Symphony or Hotel Room.........

From IMDb -

The original Australian theatrical release of "Wild at heart" stated with a short scene where Nicholas Cage is seen having sex with Laura Dern's mother in a toilet cubicle. This scene has been excised from the Region 4 DVD and instead the film starts with an unsubstantiated accusation of this, just before the fight.

Does anybody know anything more about this?

I never saw Wild At Heart in cinemas, but I do have the original Australian VHS (I haven't watched it in years, I'll check tonight if the scene is there).

The scene is not on the Australian VHS.

I doubt that the theatrical cut included any additional footage, it was probably just the flashback Marietta had moved foward to the opening scene.
