LOL Well part of what makes the original Twin Peaks Festival so special is that it takes place where the series began. We have the majority of the iconic filming sites (SoCal has more filming sites, but people are typically more interested in the falls and the Great Northern than they are Wally's or the gazebo at Easter Park), plus you just can't fake that Twin Peaks feel that the Pacific Northwest has. But that being said, a big part of the festival is the fans and the spirit of Twin Peaks. You can put that anywhere and fill in the blanks and people will still love it and enjoy it. Which is why I'm so happy that the UK TP Fest is taking place. Our European fan base is SO strong and it will be amazing to have a festival that is a more affordable trip for those fans. I don't know how some of these folks do it. I still have never saved enough to visit Europe or Australia, yet we have people who come from those regions every year. Colour me gobsmacked. :)

The thing about the LA sites it that they have almost all undergone massive change, if they are not on private property. Even the woods scenes there are almost unrecognizable, and really not that impressive in their context.

The LA woods sites are off major roads, in the 90210 zip or the Valley, surrounded by opulent houses, populated by Los Angelenos jogging and out with their designer dogs under the warm California sun, and under high security at night--- or being used as film locations for other projects, as we discovered last year trying to sneak in. It is just very LA. Theses places are natural sets, all in residential areas--- with one exception, which is Jacques' cabin from FWWM, slowly returning to nature at the top (and end) of a winding mountain road out in the woods.  Yes, most of the actors still live nearby, many don't. But the biggest character in the series was the "darkness in these woods," and that can only be experienced in a Town LIKE Twin Peaks- which LA is decidedly not.

North Bend/Snoqualmie/Issaquah has experienced the most gradual of changes; some new housing developments, some of the failing businesses changed or closed-- however, for the most part, the energy is the same. "A town stuck in the 50's," as DL called TP, it is not. But it is stuck in the 90's. There are hicks, and remote woods, and many film sites untouched by time. The energy is the same, and on certain days in certain seasons, there is a gloom you can only have in that climate. These factors are, if I may say so, over half the reason the Festival is so magical.  The only reminders that the place was ever a locus for Hollywood produced entertainment is the mural on the back of the RR (Twede's) and US being there every year!

Michael Parks and Peggy Lipton declined to be part of the group pic, I guess:

Oh my gosh, James Marshall looks SO GOOD. I am so happy to see him smiling and at least looking relatively healthy, even though I know he's still regularly ill. And that is just in general a wonderful photo. Is it available for sale anywhere? I don't know about anyone else but I'd personally love to own a print! :)

Only scans, I think. All the stars got one free, and then various people paid or snuck in to be included in the pic.

What's really a shame is that all of them went around having eachother autograph their copy. Walter left his sitting on his table, and someone ganked it- with all the signatures! Very, very sad indeed.

I don't think there are any unsigned ones of just the cast floating around.  Though I believe I stole this from a Kimmy upload, so maybe she can grab you one, Amanda!

James actually looked much more thin and frail than that photo reveals. The Crohn's has done a number on him (everyone has seen the Accutane lawsuit ads on TV, right?)  Keep him in your thoughts, all.

But Walter will be out of his wheelchair very soon!

Ugh. I can't believe someone would steal Walter's photo. Well, yes I can because some people are just assholes. But dude. Not right. I'm glad to hear that Walter is doing well! And James is amazing for being so ill but still being able to smile for fans.
