Yes...I did notice this and am so looking forward to the release....they are releasing Lost Highway on Blu-ray at the same time 3rd Nov, I think...Mulholland Drive gets a Euro launch (studio canal) in a week or so too.  All 3 are a must....in fact all of Lynch's work on Blu-ray is a must!!!

Before I pre-order I need to be absolutely sure the subtitles aren't burnt in, as they are with "Sailor et Lula" (Wild At Heart).  Knowing the French I expect they will be!

Yes I entirely understand that issue...from my own scanning around across forums...I think there is good reason to expect that the 'subs' will not be forced on these MK2 discs...they seem to be quite good in that regard....historically.  Perhaps for purist reasons, they include this option (english with no forced subtitles) so the film can be viewed as it was originally intended.  Anyway we'll have to wait until nearer the release date to be certain.

My own imported french version of MK2 'Lost Highway' (dvd) has both options for Anglais and Francais, also remember that the 1st French version of 'Sailor et Lula' was from an entirely different company...BAC Films.  A new French version of Wild At Heart (Universal) is apparently earmarked for mid-October.

So I'm quite hopeful that these MK2 discs will be ok...fingers crossed!!!

Some tech details for FWWM:

Video
Video codec: MPEG-4 AVC
Video resolution: 1080p
Original aspect ratio: 1.85:1

Audio

English: DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1
French: DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1

Subtitles
French

Discs
50GB Blu-ray Disc
Single disc (1 BD)

I just hope we get the 'Pink Room' scene as it was theatrically....without subtitles, so we can't really hear the talking etc...and therefore get the enhanced music sound. :-)

I'm voting with my feet and vetoing all future MK2 releases. Their FWWM DVD was nothing to write home about.

I ran from the noise and the silence, from the traffic on the streets
