So, we all love Peaks and most of us love a broad spectrum of things about the show, but what is Peak's MAJOR long-standing appeal for you?

I mean, I know people (me included) would be tempted to say "everything" but really, what does it for you?

Is it the quirky characters, that you actually care about, and burn with curiosity about what may have hapened to them in Season 3?

Is it the strange and beautiful quality of the cinematography - lingering shots of Fir trees swaying in the wind, misty mill machinery chugging away, the cold morning waters gently lapping a large, plastic wrapped bundle...

The supernatural element, the intriguing question of the denizens of the lodges, the lodges themselves, the physics of time and space, Eastern Philiosphy, Doppelgangers, paintings that are real, we live inside a dream, beings that travel via electricity...

Or maybe the strange, antiquated styling, the juxtaposition of classic '50's reto Hollywood styling with the bad wigs and stonewash denim?

Of course, it all adds up to something greater than the sum of it's parts, but for me, I think the supernatural elements have kept me hooked the longest - I have always been fascinated by the possibility of other dimensions, spirits, good and evil, life after death.

In a way, although I love the characters, they don't really exist for me outside of Peaks, I dont see them as living on after the show, the same way I do with some other shows - they are quite 2-dimensional for me, but not in a bad way.

So, waht do you think, what is the primary reason for your long-standing obsession?! x

I think it felt different to any TV show I'd ever seen before. It helped that I wasn't familiar with any of David Lynch's films, or had even heard of him, so it was all completely new to me. I think it was this strangeness and newness that captivated me. Plus the mystery, the music and the photography.

For me it was definitely several different reasons.

The mood created by Lynch, the cinematography and Angelo Badalamenti's music.

The characters were so unusual that I was compelled to know who they were and why they acted so bizarrely;Nadine and her drapes;the Log Lady and, well her log-etc.

There was also an air of danger, right underneath the surface, the feeling that something really bad could happen at any moment which made it all the more fun and suspenseful.

For me above all else I suppose that it was the mystery. I have always loved a good mystery-and what better mystery than a town full of possible suspects-it could have gone forever without resolving it-but alas it only took a season and a half.

For me the appeal came from the unravelling of the investigation, together with Dale Cooper's intriguing and strange personality, followed by the accompanying drama of the other TW residents. I admit I find myself drawn to bob too. He scares me, yet I can help but go back to his scenes and enjoy the thrill and chill of watching him..
