Ray Wise(Leland) Miguel Ferrer(Albert)and Dan O'Herlihy(Andrew) all appeared in the 80's classic Robocop.Richard Beymer(Ben) and Russ Tamblyn(Jacoby) both appeared in West side story from the 60's.There are obvious strong connections with Lynch and the cast Kyle Maclachlan(Blue Velvet,Dune)Jack Nance(Eraserhead)Everett Mcgill(The Straight Story)and Grace Zabriskie(Wild at heart,Inland Empire).Isabella Rossellini(Blue Velvet)was originally slated to play femme fatal Josie Packard.

Everett McGill and Harry Dean Stanton in The Straight Story. Charlotte Stewart (Betty Briggs) and Jack Nance (Pete) in Eraserhead.  oh! And Michael J. Also: Desperate Housewives stars both Kyle Maclachlan (Orson Hodge) and Brenda Strong (Mary Alice Young, played "Jones" in Twin Peaks). Note: Sheryl Lee was originally cast in Strong's role but they chose to replace her. Also: Kyle Maclachlan and Lara Flynn Boyle both appeared in "Where the Day takes you".
