I was just reading some of discussions on this forum and I've read a sentence saying something about drapes in black lodge and then I remembered Nadine's genius invention - silent drape runners. I have a feeling it's an important thing, because drapes is an important image in TP. Do you think Nadine could have foreseen mysteries being unveiled (it would be both ironic and logic, because she only has one eye, so how how can she see future if she sees only the half of the present, on the other hand, ancient oracles are said to be totally blind), do you think she has any connections with BL? Maybe she wanted quiet drape runners because she didn't want things about Black Lodge to become clear? Well, things I say might sound confusing, but they do make something like sence, don't they?

I like thinking about Nadine this way -- I'll have to rewatch some of her scenes with this in mind. I always found Nadine quite creepy and I like her for that. Perhaps there was more to her creepiness than I had thought...

Was it not also oil that made the drape runners go silent (in combination with cotton.....)? Oil is tied up to Bob through the series.......You know, Jacoby smells scorched engine oil when he's in the hospital.......when Jaques gets killed.......and oil features in many other events.........i guess this is not any big news.........but there is maybe some relations between the oil being something that silence the drapes and the role oil plays in relation to Bob and the lodges........the silencing oil maybe symbolises something? Any suggestions?

Mozart - the mosaic arts.

Yes...the age old 'masonic conspiracy' to murder Mozart, apparently due to his revelations of some of the 'secrets' of Masonry...through his opera 'The Magic Flute'.  The revelation of which,  breaks the sacred 'masonic oath' and leads to its consequences....I think that is the gist of it.

The 'rainbow'...the 'rainbow bridge' the connection of the soul to the higher realms...as symbolised in the lodge. Blavatsky mentioned this 'rainbow bridge'...in her writings.  The 'rainbow' concept gets a huge airing in Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut.

All this 'behind the curtain' stuff is 'wizard' imo...and should lead us to Oz.

Nadine and the oil & drapes which suggests a foreshadowing to glastonberry grove and the portal, creates a good device for echoing...much like Ben & Audrey's near 'incestuous' episode at OEJ, echoes the Laura/Leland incestuous nightmare...that was soon to be revealed.

Re: Rainbow & Oz...mgiht be pertinent to point out that OZ author L Frank Baum was a member of The Theosophical Society.  Basically the Oz books (there are lots of them) were created as a 'theosophical fairytale' incorporating the ancient wisdom of 'the mystery religions'.

Alice Bailey (theosophist/rosicrucian) in her writings...believed that the 'earth' and the 'souls of the earth' are connected to and constantly building a 'rainbow bridge' called the 'antahkarana' between 'heaven and earth', as well as an internal rainbow bridge of the soul & chakras.  Bailey thought that the 'dog star/sirius' is one of the most influential energies affecting our Solar System in guiding the process of building this 'rainbow bridge'.

The pillars of Jachin & Boaz...representing part of the 'tree of life'.

I'll wager that the end of that rainbow is symbolically connecting to 'Sirius'.
